I had the elk burger. It was an elk burger served with swiss cheese, mushrooms, and gravy. The burger was good though messy due to the gravy. The elk meat does have a game taste but it was not as strong as other game eat. I had the side salad as my side, which was a good choice. The staff was very friendly. The only downside was wait for our order. It took over 15 minutes for it to arrive to our table. The place was not crowded. I don't know how long it takes to make an elk burger, but it shouldn't take over 17 minutes to put it on the grill and stick it between two buns. Maybe they had to kill it out back and grind it up? This was a very bad experience! We arrived at 6:30 and asked to sit outside, and she told us they were not seating outside anymore today. So we sat at the last indoor table. Then as other people came in, they were seated outside! We ordered 2 spicy crispy chicken sandwiches, one with the hot sauce on the side and potato wedges and the other with waffle fries. It took 40 minutes for the food to come out! The chicken was frozen, processed chicken patties and they were lukewarm. My waffle fries were lukewarm. My husbands potato wedges were delayed further, but at least they came out hot. All the workers seemed dazed and confused. There was one guy telling the others what to do. They were in hearing distance of our table and there was cursing and just complete confusion. They looked like young kids doing this job for the very first time. They need to be trained! If I was the owner of this establishment, I would get rid of all the staff and hire a little more experienced people. read more

The wait staff is NOT trained properly. Arrived at ~6:15 PM today. Ordered a ribeye, baked potato (with butter and sour cream), with a house salad. #1 Please tell your staff that a cold salad should be served BEFORE the entree. #2 Diners should have silverware BEFORE the food arrives. I didn't even get my salad at all, even after waiting until 7:40 PM. The excuse? We don't have any clean bowls to serve it. Well, then clean a frikkin bowl! It doesn't take that long to clean a bowl, does it? Seriously? (There was a twelve top outside, but only three tables, including ours, was occupied in the dining room.) Received my entree, but the sour cream didn't look fresh. (It had a weird semi-runny texture.) So I sent the potato back and got fried potatoes. Still no salad.​ When I suggested the staff had not been trained properly (because I can't blame staff for mistakes no one told them were mistakes), our server became offended. So, I guess the mistakes were deliberate, in which case, you really should have a talk with whomever is responsible for training the staff because they've been trained improperly. These aren't some sort of new-fangled restaurant standards. Ever other restaurant I've been to across the U.S. have ALWAYS brought silverware when seated, and salads have ALWAYS been served before the entrees arrive so the hot food doesn't get cold while you're eating your salad. Period.​ I sent all the food back, including a ribeye that sat there for half an hour getting stone cold while I waited in vain for a salad that never arrived because, apparently, no one would take five minutes to wash a bowl to serve it in. Our waitress was friendly but the service was poor. The man in the back cooking was kind of arguing with one of the workers and everyone eating could hear it. The environment felt super uncomfortable. After a while of waiting we got our food and hardly touched it. The service and the food were horrible. We sat down at our table, and we were not given any silverware or napkins. We had to ask for them. The waitress finally came back with the silverware and just put it all down in a pile on the table and then proceeded to set a huge paper napkin dispenser on the table. She said they didn't have any clean napkins, which we thought as odd. Once our steaks were served, my husband's $50 steak was so tough and gristly, he couldn't even chew it. It was cooked medium, so it was not because it was cooked too long. When we brought this to the waitress's attention she said, "we can't do anything about that, it is out of our control how the steak is". She never even offered to replace it or take some off the bill. When you pay $50 each for three steaks you expect more than that. When we were leaving, we noticed that their steaks aren't even cooked on a grill, they are cooked on a flat top.
