Megabus was impressively on time from start to finish. While I did have some trouble locating the pickup spot (it's on a side street instead of where the other buses pickup/drop off), good thing Google Maps knows where the stop is (3105-3125 John F Kennedy Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19104)! Granted, it was in the same spot that they dropped me off... I'm just unfamiliar with the territory and there's no signage. As other Yelpers have mentioned, this pickup/drop-off spot is completely outside with no awnings/coverings. (Similarly, the Baltimore stop appears to be a completely random place in the White Marsh parking lot.) Since it was raining, I stayed inside 30th Street Station until it was time to board. Pro tip: While the ticket says to arrive 15 minutes early, get there earlier that! Megabus offers reserved seating for an upcharge; if you want a decent seat and only paid for general seating, you better arrive early. While technically there are two-seaters on the bus, the bus was empty enough that *practically* everyone had their own set of seats (*practically*... my condolences to those that didn't). Fortunately but unfortunately, I got the very last two-seater to myself, but it was by the bathroom :/. This location was a little disorganized. I got in line, showed my ticket to the Megabus staff member, he checked it, and told me that I was "good to go." But, as I began to board the bus, another Megabus staff member stopped me urgently and asked to see my ticket. I understand the need to prevent stowaways, but another staff member literally just cleared me, so the encounter was a little jarring. It wasn't a big issue because I did have my ticket verification on hand, but their practices could be more orderly to prevent duplication of efforts and accusatory tones. I sat on the lower level and it was a bumpy ride, so it was difficult to get any reading done without the threat of getting motion sickness. There were outlets overhead, though I didn't test to see if they worked. The WiFi was semi-functional. It worked fine to browse the web and check email, but any streaming services to watch videos or listen to music didn't work; instead I kept getting redirected to the Megabus page asking me to download their app. Apparently if you download their app, you can watch certain movies and tv shows, just like on an airplane. Despite the rain, the bus was perfectly on schedule departing Philly, stopping in Baltimore, and arriving in DC. I've travelled by Peter Pan and Greyhound before, and their service has been inconsistent. Megabus has been the best bus experience, in terms of value and schedule, coming and going, by far.

Why do many tour buses have hideous upholstery? Especially Megabuses. But hey, they have seatbelts. If you're lucky enough to end up on a Megabus with stable Wi-Fi (if you're sitting near the router), it might not do you much good unless you're sitting by the stairs - Megabuses are double deckers - and toting a smartphone, as the seats are too cramped for proper laptop usage. Or sitting. But hey, there are outlets. Trip take longer on Megabus due a combo of traffic, driver training ("drive slow") when I take them. With more buses and departure times, Megabus is more convenient and not always sold out like their competitors. Still, I prefer to spend a few more dollars to ride a competing bus line.

This was my first time using Megabus out of Philadelphia. I arrived early as instructed, we boarded on time, and I was able to get to my reserved seat (I paid $5 extra) without issue. We also departed on time and the bus was much quieter than I anticipated, so I was pleasantly surprised in those regards. Each seat had an outlet and there was WiFi, but I had trouble connecting. Don't worry about bringing heavy luggage or carry-on's, because the luggage rules were not enforced whatsoever. Our driver, Leo, gave all the appropriate disclaimers and announcements, but then drove a bit crazy at times. We made two stops for pickup/drop-off, then made another 30 min stop at a "rest stop" for food and bathrooms. I found this stop to be pretty annoying and unnecessary, although it was nice to use a real bathroom. My biggest complaint would be comfort- I paid extra to sit up front on the top level, so the seat was "leather" instead of fabric. I thought I would like to have the front window view, but the sun was so bright and there was a weird source of heat at my feet. This was then coupled with freezing AC. I'm also relatively small (5'1") and even I felt very uncomfortable with the proximity to the girl next to me. The guy across the aisle must be a pro so he bought both seats- genius. For $20 I got where I needed to go eventually, but next time I will pay the extra money for a shorter, more comfortable trip.

All passengers in a lot in Jersey, devoid of all other people, filled only w spare megabuses.

Worse customer service. Don't expect to get a refund of some fees they charge even when they cancel a trip for whatever reason.

There was enough space in my 10 am bus on a Tuesday for most people to get their whole row, but I suppose that is highly dependent on the day and time. I found the bus to be clean, and the riders quiet and respectful. They do lose a star because the bus doesn't have any design on it and there's no company supervision/workers by it. Because I had purchased my tickets through Wanda Coach, I couldn't be sure which bus I was supposed to get on, and other passengers had told me this wasn't "the Wanda Coach bus." There were no workers outside the bus taking tickets and supervising the bags in the bottom of the bus. I was definitely uncomfortable leaving my bag out in the open in the middle of the street before the driver closed it up and we left. All in all, however, it was a pretty good deal, and we made it to Chinatown only a few minutes late because of NYC traffic!

I have only ever gone on bus trips as a passenger with other groups. I didn't have a clue what to do so I just searched online and started calling places. I figured in my head, hey I get the cheapest price and the guys will be happy. The first couple companies I called were nice enough, and gave me prices, but certainly did not go out of their way to make me feel that comfortable or make this any easier on an old guy like me. Honestly, Werner Coach was the last place I called. I'm so glad I made that one last call to Werner! The woman who answered the phone transferred me to the sales manager, Lynsey. What a blessing! I apologized that I didn't really know what I was doing, but I needed a rate for a bunch of us guys to go to DC. She was so nice and knew exactly what questions to ask about what we wanted to do. Things the other companies didn't ask about rest stops, itinerary, she suggested places we could stop to eat and was just a joy. She was so accommodating even until the day before the trip when she called to confirm all the details. When our bus arrived earlier than expected I breathed a sigh of relief. The bus was clean, the AC worked, and it was comfortable. The driver pulled up, got out and introduced himself and shook my hand. His name was Jason. He went over the itinerary with me to make sure there were no last minute changes. Everyone loaded and we were on our way. Jason's driving was excellent. He was very cautious and safe. Even in Washington, DC. There was so much traffic and some of the streets are narrow and he handled it like a pro. Throughout the day he was on time and ready even when we were running late a few times. He pointed out sights to us as we drove by which was appreciated. We got home a little late due to traffic, but it was an awesome trip thanks to Werner. From the first call, to the time Jason dropped us off, they were first class. I am definitely recommending them to everyone I know!

Flix bus is one of those new so called improvements over Greyhound over the last 10-15 years…read more Greyhound has replaced many routes with Flix buses. I first took flix in 2021 or so from NYC to DC. what I remember was being dumped by a hotel downtown in the middle of the night. and the cabbies weren't working because it was a holiday. I also remember no or a very inadequate bathroom. long time ago though. Last week I wanted to go to Montreal. back 15 years ago I would take greyhound bus from Mt. Laurel (where I lived). and catch the midnight connect to Montreal. It was a real bus station where I could wait and where I park my car in the free and safe parking lot for a whole week, if needed. so I try to book a bus ticket to Montreal today- Greyhound Mt Laurel gone but Flix bus replaces them. so I get a Flix bus that leaves from Cherry Hill Mall where I take a taxi to because there's no place to park your car and stand around on the street corner wait like an idiot with 50 lbs of luggage. Sigh of relief. the bus came. but- coming home from Montreal- first, Flix scares the living crap out of me by sending me a form that i had to fill out to cross the border. turns out it didn't apply to me. but...then I arrive in NYC like 4:30 in the am two hours before expected on a Sunday morning. my connection bus doesn't come until 10 am. the 31st "station"in NYC is nothing but a strip of concrete to park the buses. so nothing open and 50 lbs of luggage to drag around. I bought a train ticket back today as far as being cost effective, seriously the round trip ticket from Southern NJ to Montreal was $318. wtf
