My history with Meijer goes back well over 30 years, having grown up in Michigan. Before Walmart had 24 hour stores, there was Meijer, who opened 24 hours long before Walmart ever started. And then I worked for Create-A-Card (if you remember them), which had personalized card printing in, literally, every single Meijer location. At the time I worked for Create-A-Card there were less than 50 stores. Meijer and I go a LONG way back. So as far as big-box, full-retail stores go, it's always my go-to. Groceries? Check Sweat pants? Check Aquarium filters? Check Windshield solvent? Check Sharpies? Check ..and the list goes on. The staff at Meijer is usually very helpful (if a bit hard to find), and there's never a team member sitting around doing nothing. People who work at Meijer usually have a great work ethic and I don't know that I've ever felt like I was bothering anyone when I would ask them where I could find self-sealing stem bolts. Likewise the store is usually pretty clean. Not like Walmart, where it usually feels like you're walking into a friend's house, but that friend has 4 or 6 kids under the age of 7 and none of them cleans up after themselves or puts their toys away. They often tend to keep the produce area pretty tidy, which is is a challenge because produce needs to be neat and tidy. Who wants to buy ugly produce? There are numerous big-box general merchandise stores, and when I need something -- anything -- Meijer is where I'm headed. read more

I normally go to the Meijer in Lima, OH but found myself in Fort Wayne one day and needed to get groceries done before I go home to Van Wert. I decided to do my shopping here. This is a great Meijer. There is a Starbucks inside as well as a Auntie Annes, which my Lima store does not have. They have a large garden area and sell items I certainly do not see in my Lima store including items like veal and bison. The store is large and well stocked. It is also easy to find the items you need. I think this is a great Meijer and I do not understand the negative reviews. read more

I like Meijer. Thy are a regular big box store, it I still like them. They've recently changed their hours due to the Covid19 crisis, and their shelves are not as stocked as normal, but they are meeting the needs of their customers to the best of their ability. The staff is very accommodating. I applaud their workers and their diligence. I appreciate all of the hard work and dedication. Please know you are appreciated, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I love shopping at Meijer. I love the idea of a one stop shop. However it's taking some getting used to the new layouts they have done to their store but I'm used to it now. They have great selections on a variety of food products with great deals in their weekly ad. They also have awesome deals for just Friday and Saturdays. I also find some wonderful deals on clothes when they do mark downs. All the Meijer's i have been to are nothing but clean with friendly staff and even though They do get busy the lines are long they move Fairly quickly. Parking lots always offer plenty of empty spots and there is never a shortage of shopping carts. It is easy to get in and out of quickly. The produce is always well stocked with fresh and pretty fruits and veggies and plenty of packaged items as well. The deli has pretty good meats and cheeses but I have waited sometimes awhile to be helped due to busy times. The one thin hat irritates me is that I have to ship both ends of the store. One side for toiletries and the other for groceries. I just wish they were closer together. Let's face it the stores are huge and after shopping I'm worn out to go get shampoo!! I recommend going. It's fun to gaze at all they have to offer and maybe pick up items that Weren't on your list. read more

Meijer is my favorite supermarket in Fort Wayne. Unfortunately, I don't go too often in winter because of bus scheduling, and the snowy walk from the bus stop to the store. But last week, I decided to get out of my rut and head over to Meijer. It did not disappoint. Let's talk about the produce section first. The selection is the absolute BEST in the city. You can find anything you're looking for. Meijer even offers fresh herbs in bulk (dill, mint, etc.) not those $1.99 containers in plastic, which are usually turning brown at other markets. Freshness and quality are outstanding, prices are competitive. If you cook, like I do, you can get lost in there. Don't miss the fresh fish/seafood. Again, you'll find a great selection. Salmon, tilapia (which is perfect for fish tacos) cod, red snapper, shrimp, scallops. Cut to order., great service. Serving wine with dinner? No problem! Meijer has the best wine selection of any supermarket in the city. From economy to fine, reds, whites, blushes, sparkling or still, I guarantee they have what you want. Great sales and specials, too! Meijer has a wonderful fresh meat selection, too. You can even order special cuts to pick up later, which is a nice option around the holidays. Awesome store. Check it out!:) read more

Service is non-existent. Five regular check out lanes open, people stacked 5 deep and they say they do not have people to work check outs. All self serve (about 14 were open). This guy is out of here. Took me over 30 minutes to check out. I asked the supervisor and she just had excuses. Then I found that the cashier that I did have was called in from another department My time is more valuable than to put up with this. They are worse than Walmart and more expensive!!! read more

Tried the online ordering with curbside pickup tonight. Very disappointing. Recommend skipping this until they get their act together. For comparison, I've ordered from competitor Kroger about 10 times now--a world of difference (better) than Meijer. The online cart building was fairly simple. No complaints there. Although they tell you up front they can't accept paper coupons for your order, which is frustrating, since they send me these swell "preferred customer" type coupons for stuff I have bought before, often even with a freebie coupon (gallon of milk, can of veggies) but alas, can't use those coupons now. After order is placed, even though they have a phone/text #, there's no attempt to alert the shopper of any potential substitutions. You have to wait until you get there for the surprises. I used the little notes section in the cart building process to mention what I'd like if the regular canned green beans or carrots weren't available. Hard to believe that Meijer has continually had a shortage of canned green beans and carrots since spring. Even before the covid hit, green beans were only in stock maybe 1 out of 3 visits. What the heck is that all about??? Biggest fail in the online shopping is the substitutions offered for the elusive canned veggies were more expensive and/or smaller sizes that what I wanted. And Meijer thought I should just pay for the pricier versions, despite their failure to adequately stock their stores. Hey Meijer, you might consider following your competitor's policy -- if they substitute something, customer only pays the original item's price, even if it's a bigger/more expensive item. Also hard to believe that there were no turkey substitutes for the Stouffer's frozen meal I ordered. Really wonder who is responsible for keeping reasonable stock levels at this store. After I rejected the substituted items, my new total fell under the $49 minimum to receive the $4.95 pickup fee waived. But so far, it appears that fee didn't get added back onto my total; I'll double check in another day on my credit card just to be sure. The staff person that brought my order out was very pleasant and understanding. Meijer's has got a lot of catching up to do, in order to ever hope to match the online shopping that their competitor seems to have mastered. read more

Best store out there. The store is always clean, good selection and the best prices out there on the sale items. I feel comfortable shopping here at night very laid back and normal place ( unlike Wal-Mart lima rd) Meijer have a great meat department where they process the fresh meats not have it all shipped in like Wal-Mart with the fake pink dye fresh illusion. Meijer isn't afraid to run the air conditioning when it's hot outside, makes for a much better shopping experience (unlike Wal-Mart) Meijer it's just better here, nicer store, cleaner and way better deals than Wal-Mart on the sale items. I enjoy coming here and walk out with a bunch of great stuff at low price... Much better than Wal-Mart. read more

The store is well kept and clean. The parking lot is well lit and clean as well. The selection of goods are diverse and the store overall is well organized. The number of checkouts that are open can be kind of low for the amount of traffic they incur throughout the day. I got here when I visit my fiance to pick up little things from time to time. read more

Every time we go back to Meijer we are disappointed. The store is well lit and the offerings are mechandised and presented very well. But that's where it ends. Today, on entering the store, I went to the small men's room. The urinal was covered with a plastic bag. I have been told that it's a sign of a store that is not profitable. There were handles onnthe sink that were broken. My wife went to the deli and asked for medium cut turkey and was handed a bag with shaved turkey in it. Also, the two deli workers were arguing very loudly with each other. I went down to the end and asked for a cup to get a fountain drink and was told by the employee working there that it might be out-of-order. The machine behind the checkouts did have an out-of-order sign on it. Most people were waiting in line to use the self checkouts. I came to the conclusion that it was because the checkout clerks were very slow, unfriendly and didn't really care about the customers. The clerk next to our lane had a cellphone wedge between her shoulder and her ear the whole time we were there. I feel that all of this is a reflection of the store management. We a are just letting you know this and why we do most of our shopping at Kroger. read more

I refuse to give this place another chance. The last few times I've gone, the lines have been so long. I waited nearly 15 minutes, had all my items on the checkout belt and of course the person in front of me had an issue with a price. It took 3 managers to try to figure it out. One of them left to check on the price, didn't return for about 5 minutes, my items were melting, so I left everything on the belt and walked out. That was the last straw and I won't be back since it seems to be an ongoing issue. I'd rather spend a few extra dollars at Kroger and have a better shopping experience. read more

I didn't know what this store was at all. It's an upscale of walmart and inbetween Target. I liked it and the prices weren't too bad. I found things that I have never seen there before. I am glad that I got to experience it and found all the different stuff read more

When needing a find a post office, some snacks, a coffee, and more, this is THE place to go in Ft. Wayne. I had never heard of this store beforehand, but thanks to the nice concierge at the hotel, we found this store. Next time I'm in Ft. Wayne, I'll be making a return visit for needed supplies. read more

This is an upscale walmart. The groceries are better. Shopping is great and you can find any discounts on just about anything you need.

I have a few issues with this meijer. First is isle organization. In one isle it had soap,ketchup, and candy. I thought they were supposed to be organized by similarities? Second the store had lots of construction so many areas were unavailable. I hope the renovations get this meijer on track. read more

I was charged $4.99 for a sandwich that was $2.99. I noticed that everything I looked at was priced higher than the local Walmart. We don't have a Meijer where I live so I don't have to tell anyone how bad they are. Overpriced, overcharged based on their shelf prices. I'll never go back. Visited the garden center early on Sunday morning. Went to check out and the young man that did it was on his phone on a personal call the whole time. Dropped some of my flowers on the floor and just laughed. Never spoke to me. Just handed the receipt over the counter and kept talking on his phone. Should have left then but I didn't. Went to get a few groceries. The greeter was too busy reading the paper to greet anyone. Then the check out girls were visiting and having a good time. I won't return to that store! read more
