Not a local from here, so I've been struggling to find someone that can do measurements for a custom bridal dress in Fort Wayne. I was referred to Von Maur, but never heard of it. Von Maur is kinda like a Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale store...but better. Had a lovely experience for my first time here. Service is a solid 10/10! My review is for Teresa and Jill. Teresa helped me connect with Jill from alterations to do the measurements. I'm ordering a custom Vietnamese dress (Ao Dai) and needed a lot of measurements done. Both Jill and Teresa spent time with me to do measurements and write them down. They're both literal angels. Highly recommend going to them if you need assistance with anything. Specifically, Jill can help with altering blouses, pants, sleeves etc. Also, shout out to Christy for welcoming me to Fort Wayne and helping me get some cologne. Von Maur is like many high end chain stores. Usually not many in the store when I go, so it is easy to look around. I always love the displays. I love Von Maur, and it's nostalgic ways, the gift wrapping, and shipping are a thing of the past for most stores. However in Fort Wayne at the Jefferson Point store the customer service in the shoe department is the worst. Literally I was purchasing a pair of shoes and my contact became dislodged which is very painful. I asked the lady if she could hold on to the two big boot boxes while I ran upstairs to the bathroom to put it back in, I was told NO that's against company policy they cannot hold anything for anyone for any reason. They can hold shoes that have not been paid for but not the ones that have been. Everytime I go there it is a place of company rules only in Fort Wayne. I have family members who worked there in different states and they tell me this is not true. Fort Wayne, Von Maur is a store of NO's and WE CAN'T DO, and RULES, spare me the NO's and Company Rules, I will be returning the 250.00 + boots and shopping at a customer friendly store. I don't need the headache I have rules as well, shop where appreciated. read more

Shop at your own risk! They have adopted a new silent "policy". I bought a pain of heels a week ago. After trying them and walking around in the house, I had terrible back pain. I returned them with receipt and after the very stone faced associate heard I had them worn them, she stated she couldn't return any item which has been worn. I spoke with their manager who stated they have a new policy since August. I asked to see the policy and she showed me a piece of paper which says if you have a receipt you can get full refund within 90 days of purchase, store credit if no receipt. After informing her what she was saying didn't match with policy, she dug for another paper under some paper pile and read it without showing it to me. I have shopped there different times and have never had any issues returning items until now. This is stealing in the worst sense. I decided to leave the pair of shoes with them. If they can steal my money then am sure they have no problem keeping the shoes either. No store credit was offered by the way. read more

This place is for rich folks with big wads of cash on hand. Rich snooty South West bunch right? I think so. Pricey items , but if you got the cash to burn and want to be a hot shot this store might be for you. It's real nice inside, clean, real nice associates to kiss your behind if you start spending all big like. I liked it here a winter or two ago! It was cold out and I stepped inside, got warmed up some of that free (hobo heat) I didn't spend a dime. I have to give the minimum stars available, not for quality, but service. I'm extremely disappointed in the level of service I've received today. It was as if I was an invisible force whose energy could be felt, but not seen. I was passed by as if I were a mere speck of dust on an immaculate surface, a complete annoyance to be given a disdainful look and walked past. This isn't the 1st time it happened to me, sadly, I'm accustomed to it. The quality of shoes and bags at this Von Maur is unmatched in Fort Wayne, thus the reason I appear to be a glutton for this particular brand of punishment. In addition, I was taught religion and politics are things not to be discussed in polite company. We should discern that not everyone shares our same opinions. Shopping at Von Maur is a lovely experience. I've seen it described as "snooty", but I've never found it to be so. It has a fabulous selection of clothing, fragrances, cosmetics, shoes, and accessories at all price points, even clearance. In fact, the women's shoe department has a separate room just for clearance shoes! The store is elegantly appointed, extremely clean, and there is even a pianist to accompany your shopping experience most days. It is a cut above Macy's when it comes to selection and service, and if you are looking for a special occasion dress there is no place like Von Maur. They also have the only Chanel (including fragrances) and Bobbi Brown counters in Fort Wayne. I love this store. It's shopping the way it used to be. read more

This is the only Von Maur located in Fort Wayne and I love it. I am so glad it was added into the outdoor shops at Jefferson Pointe. Their selections are great and service is awesome. Von Maur is my one-stop shop on a Friday afternoon when I need something quick for the weekend. I call it my one-stop shop because I ALWAYS find something for whatever occasion. They have a great casual wear area downstairs geared towards my age group and also have dresses. I recently also discovered their upstairs Juniors area. The brands upstairs are more higher end and I love that they have a Free People selection. It does seem like their men's department is geared more towards the 30+ age group. Lots of Tommy Bahama and higher end brands. I rarely find things for my boyfriend but always for my dad. Their shoe department is where it's at. Seriously. So many shoes. What is a girl to do? Their sale room is always packed full of tons of great clearance shoes. I must say though the selection is more limited for sizes 9-11. It seems like sizes 6-8 hit the jackpot on more merchandise. The number one thing that makes Von Maur great is there customer service. The ladies working in the area I shop are awesome. A few times they remember who I am and are willing to help pick out an outfit. I have had great experiences with them having items shipped from another store to the FW location for me to pick up. I went to gift wrapping dept to have it wrapped. I waited 10 minutes and know one was up there.So, I wrapped it myself at home. I feel the Indianpolis store is much better with service. I love to visit Von Maur everytime I'm back in Fort Wayne. To me, it is every bit as good as any Nordstroms, maybe better: it's cleaner, "fresher" and has awesome bathrooms. (Seriously, who would care about a bathroom, but it goes to show the details here at the store are upscale in every facet.) The people are super friendly, a testament to Hoosier hospitality and something you wouldn't get at other upscale stores. The prices are competitive with similar stores and you CANNOT BEAT the shipping: FREE gift wrapping AND shipping. Are they kidding?? This is awesome! I love that it's never crowded like big-city department stores, so I always feel I can take my time and really browse. They have a little train table and a few "extras" in the children's section--which is always welcome for my crazy toddler! I just feel that there is a superior "elegance" here that Nordstrom's sometimes forgets. There is just a sense of arrogance there, whereas Von Maur has subtle class, and a little more pride. One thing I wish they had more of is a better variety in the men's department. Especially the shirts, which are 90% golf shirts. Maybe that's a FW thing (really, does anyone wear anything besides a golf shirt here??), so I guess it's appropriate. Also their gift department could use a few more options. I would LOVE to see a tiny little tea & pastry shop here instead of opting for nearby Starbucks. All in all, its fun to shop like a "lady" here. read more

What a great store! I live in Lansing, Michigan and the selection of men's clothing is okay but not even close to what Von Maur offers. The best part of my experience was working with Amber! I went there with the intention of purchasing a nice casual shirt and some high end jeans. Needless to say I purchased multiple of each. Amber knows what she's doing! One of my favorite stores to shop at in Jefferson Pointe is Von Maur. When first walking in, you may be intimidated by the luxe appearance of the store and their price tags but if you search deeper in the racks, you can actually find some stellar deals! They have a separate room for clearance shoes. I usually go straight to the sales racks and can always find noticeably marked down prices on designer brand clothes. Absolutely awful customer service! Wanted to look at a coach hand bag but couldn't get one employee to acknowledge or wait on me! Guess I didn't "look" like I had money to spend! Excellent merchandise and the best service. Reasonable prices for the quality, you do "get what you pay for." I once returned a pair of men's shoes that were purchased 15 months ago worn only once and received full credit on my card. The dressing rooms are perfectly sized and the public spaces beautifully maintained. The man who complained about the service was shopping during a holiday weekend ( June 28, 2014 ) so the staff may have been reduced, but usually there are several available at all times. Von Maur is the only department store in Fort Wayne which provides such superior service ,therefore the one in which I choose to shop. read more
