I don't usually shop at Meijer unless I'm checking to see if they have something I can't find somewhere else. But the past couple weeks, I've bought my groceries at Meijer. They do seem to have a bigger selection of some items like sauces and international items than I've seen at other stores. I haven't had any issues with finding the products I want when shopping. The biggest issue is how much trash is in the parking lot. Nothing like straddling a stranger's trash in the parking lot to load groceries into your car. Inside the store is clean, organized, and stocked. I haven't seen this at any other business in the area so I'm not sure what's happening here. read more

I have shopped at Meijer since it was built on Southport Road. Lately it has been not up to par. No one to ask where an item is located, items on the shelves not restocked or on the top shelf all the way to the back. Frozen foods not restocked or not available. very disappointed... I had an offer on my phone app that said I would get $1 per gallon off on gas. but after I finished the transaction I discovered that I didn't. I spoke to the clerk and he said I would need to call customer service... and they could not help me... so I was robbed of $15 dollars. read more

This is our go-to location for Meijer's. Having the scan and go on the app helps a lot when you want to shop and get out quickly. I like the different varieties of weekly sales. The staff has been wonderful every time we shop. Recommended to have more people working on the floor to help shoppers, especially handicapped that couldn't reach certain items. read more

This location is simply ok. They usually have items in stock that we need and have decent sales. The app hasn't worked in months which makes shopping at Meijer in general less appealing. Today there was a mystery liquid outside the raw chicken fridge... there was a mop thrown down and two caution signs but it wasn't until I accidentally stepped in the liquid that I realized it was likely raw chicken liquid. I come to this, Meijer a lot for a variety of things. Mainly for prescriptions, their pharmacy is excellent. Today I had a few issues related to my insurance, and Steffany really helped me to figure them all out and get everything working as needed. In addition, this is a huge store with Clothes and groceries and everything you would expect from a big box store. Their pricing is pretty good, everything seems expensive these days. They have a large frozen section as well as so many choices. A store this size can offer lots of options and a ton of convenience. In addition, they have a gas station out front, which has gas at normal prices, but makes it more convenient that you can do a one stop shop and gas up to if you need to. The people working here are always very friendly. There's always a greeter at the front door who's always nice and friendly and welcoming and giving positive comments as you leave as well. read more

Great store location, great selection of food and products store is kept clean public bathrooms too. Store keeps the carts stocked at both ends food and home area never a bunch stranded floating around the lot that I have personally seen. Staff is friendly and greets you upon walk in. They have 5 dollar sushi near the deli on Wednesdays with a good variety. The game day spicy wings 8.99lb are delicious my wife makes me get them anytime I stop by for her at home. Big juicy spicy meat what more is needed. Have had any issues with the fresh produce, fruits ,vegetables, etc most stay fresh haven't been bad last awhile. I mean it's meijer not target so they do have a pretzel shop which is delicious too like an active Ann's or something but no Starbucks for those target fiends lol. read more

Items that are not on sale are almost always more expensive than Walmart and sale items sell out frequently without the ability to get rain checks. (Bait and switch it seems) Also, the self checkout manager Terry is very rude to customers and even other Meijer workers agree that he is not nice and shouldn't be around the customers. read more

Meijer on Southport is our go to place for groceries and household needs. Prices are comparable to grocery stores, and they always have plenty of lanes open to check out fairly quickly. The houseplant selection is good here too. read more

I journeyed to the Southport Meijer at 7:15 PM on Friday December 23rd. The outside temp was -1 degree and I needed two space heaters. I parked and went toward the west side doors. Two men were in front of me. They entered. And then a lady employee closed the door and yelled through the dooor at me to go to the East doors. The men in front of me turned around and laughed and the store employee giggled. Those doors aren't normally closed until much later. The employee could have been kind and thoughtful. There was no one behind me. I ventured back to my car in -1 degree weather, contemplated never coming back, drove to the East doors, and got what I needed. I am angry at how I was treated and resent it greatly. I will not set foot in the store for a very long time. read more

Meijer is one of the best grocery stores, and this is a great location on Southport - serving the south side and easily accessible from 65. The standout part of this place is Ben's Pretzel's. I LOVE GOING there to get a pretzel and then shop. With the Meijer card, you can get all your receipts emailed to you - great if you want to track your spending or need reimbursements for work. There are always lots of great deals on food, as well as non-food items. My only complaint is the focus on self-check outs. I HATE IT. You expect someone spending $100+ dollars on groceries to also scan and bag everything? Uuuugh. Yes, there are in-person checkouts, but they get busy very quick and later at night aren't an option. But overall, pretzels. 5 stars for that! read more

I would not recommend the meijer bakery. It was my friends birthday (on New Year's Day) and she had a rough year. We wanted to make her cake funny with a light hearted meme that read "beep beep you sad f#%*. Happy birthday!" Through this difficult times it was memes and baked goods that got us through. We asked the bakery if they could do this and the lady said yes. When she was done writing, the woman didn't even show us the finished cake. She taped the box shut and when I say tape I mean like multiple pieces of tape like we had to pry the thing open. Which when we opened it, it all made sense. It's because this lady who decorated our cake KNEW what she did. She knew she gave us an ugly cake. She knew. She could've showed us the cake and asked if we liked it but nope she already knew we wouldn't because she knew how much she utterly screwed up. In all reality all she had to do was scrape off the ugly and just start over but nope we took the ugly cake to our struggling friend and we started the new year with an ugly cake. I shop alot at this Meijer on Southport Road, it is clean, well stocked even now if you shop from say Friday to Sunday They can be out of items at the beginning of the week. But, most places these days are out of stock on something. I like the self checkout app as you shop you scan the code on your app and place it in a bag. I know I am doing someone else's job but it saves time and I only handle the item once in the store from shelf to bag. Checkout is quick and I get my rewards automatically with the app William works the line at the 20 or less cash registers. He is always smiling and quick to help in anyway. Meijer is my favorite spot to shop for groceries and other supplies. This location is closest to me and easy to get in and out of. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Almost all the customers have been wearing masks and following social distancing during the pandemic. Be very wary of the employees here. They don't care at all. They didn't give my ID back after making a return. I realized it the next day, but took me about a week to get back in to get it and they lost it. And then claimed they never used it for the return. This is such an interesting place! It's like a Walmart and a Target in one! Or a Walgreens or CVS with a trust fund. I was feeling a bit under the weather, so I wandered here for drugs. I found them, not only were they decently priced but also there was a variety from which I could choose! Given that it was my first time in the store, I decided to wander around. I ended up finding a grocery section. So, I went ahead and picked up some soup as well as some Tazo tea. Now, I rarely purchase Tazo tea because it's usually $4 a box, but here it was only $2.50! This Meijer store is located at southport exit at I65 103 exit. It's one of the bigger Meijer store. The store is very neat and clean. Staff was helpful and cheerful. They have plenty of parking spaces and they also have self checkout options. I like the overall store arrangement and give high marks on cleanliness. read more

The produce is always fresh. I would carefully look at the meat from the deli before purchasing (as with any deli). They have a wide selection of home supplies to make my shopping easier. I always end up getting more than what's on my list when I come in here because of mperks coupons and some items you can't beat the sales prices (like the arm & hammer laundry detergent). The is my 1 stop stop when I want better than Walmart quality. I usually come to Meijer when I have specific items for a recipe because they usually carry a wide variety of strange items and seasonings. Always check the wine area before you leave. This usually ends up being the bulk of my bill because they have great deals on alcohol when you are buying in bulk. read more

I really enjoy this location to shop at. I don't like shopping at Wal-Mart and really enjoy most Meijer grocery stores. They have everything and the quality is good. This location has a nice selection and the cashiers are always very nice and helpful. I do wish there were more cashiers when you go to check out, but usually it's a few cashiers and the rest are self check outs. I much prefer a person to the self but sometimes that's the only option. If you do have to wait in line for a person they are always very friendly and make the wait worth it. Always great clearance deals on food and items! I love Meijer and I love this location. The staff are friendly, even at customer service and it's usually pretty easy to find an employee if you need help. This location also does a lot of promotional events in the store. Today for instance, they had Cat in the Hat in the store visiting with kids and they invited all the kids to come to the seasonal area to have story time and read Cat in the Hat. I am a discount shopper/couponer and this location has several clearance area throughout the store. There is a clearance table in the center aisle by sporting goods, and several ends caps through the store with clearance (by pharmacy, pic frames, toys, fishing, kitchenware, and staionary). Sometimes they have clearance grocery by the dairy and in front milk too. I love, love LOVE mperks. Do not step foot in the store without dowloading, checking, and clipping your mperks. I have saved sooo much money with mperks. It's Meijer version of digital coupons. read more

I was having difficulty locating a couple of items and a woman who was stocking the aisle I was in was cheerfully helpful in walking with me to the location and pointing out the exact items in both cases. The staff is doing a great job of keeping items stocked. I can not believe I am actually having to say what I am about to say. My husband and I work overnights, so we like to shop middle of the night/early mornings at Meijer on our days off. Long story short, a Meijer associate refused to allow me to the restroom near the checkout saying, "The restroom is closed". I said, "well, you all need to have a sign stating the restroom is closed." She pointed at a sign in the middle of the aisle and said that the sign says it. I read it to her, the sign said "This entrance is closed"...it wasn't at the restroom. She sent me to the restroom at the deli, which is at the other end of the store...ok, fine...THAT restroom was closed for cleaning! You are telling me that NOT ONE restroom is open at 2 am? So I was going to stop at the Meijer gas station to use the restroom...nope, sign on the door said that I could only use the service window! My bladder thanks the Circle K station at Emerson and Southport Road. Thieves have made it to the point that innocent people can not use the restroom??? Somebody needs to COME ON! read more

This Meijer has a similar layout to the store in Hamilton, Ohio. It's not the biggest store but they seem to place more emphasis on the grocery section and leave the typical discount store unloved. They have a good pharmacy area and it includes a drive-thru. The store seems clean enough but going through the movies, it seems a bit too clean with almost no stock. On the other hand, they had quite a display of liquor and wine, spanning a couple of aisles. Maybe, if you're drunk, you don't care which movie you're watching. Save your coupons, as Meijer tends to be high at regular prices, and of course, watch for sales and the occasional markdown. read more

Meijer draws me in because there aren't hoards or people. They keep me in the door because they have wide aisles and It's clean. Not the most modern, but it works. We moves back to the area and were happy to see they still have some great deals. Definitely not the cheapest on everything but a solid effort. We have tried to call Meijer (store, corporation, etc.). Our request go unanswered. We use Meijer gas station weekly. On our last visit, as usual, we go inside for a cup of coffee, snack, etc. Our last visit we had to ask for a cup from employee. Strange, I asked why? The employee stated that Meijer has a new policy due to Covid 19. I ask why and what was the concern. He had no answers. So it's safer to have a person (no gloves) touch the coffee cup, lid, etc. ? So the question comes up was the way of self service. Was Meijer putting us in health danger before or now? Can't have it both ways. Help me understand. read more

Meijer delivery is terrible and they have made me no want to shop there again EVER!!!!! They waited until it was almost time for our delivery to tell us the card didnt go through and they canceled it without asking us anything. It would have taken me 30 seconds to fix the problem but they didnt give me the chance. So after taking an hour to put in my order and talking to the filler 3 or 4x because they were out of half the stuff on my list they canceled it, too late for me to order from somewhere else and get it early, so we had to put in another order at Walmart and wait till 3pm for it. Worst customer service ever!!! Rude management!! The change to more self check out lanes has lead to inadequate cashier attention and lesser quality in checking out. If they aren't going to put competent employees there then they need to remove products that require verification and extra attention. The pharmacy section is great and I love all the travel size toiletries. Great selection of wine, including regional ones, beer and spirits. The frozen veggie options are a bit lacking, but they stock a good selection of meat and meat substitutes. Great greeting card section. This is a great location and the staff have always been helpful, friendly, and in happy moods when I have seen and talked to them. They have all the major big box chain store items you expect them to stock. The store is normally very clean and well kept, the shelves are organized and look nice, as well as the lay out of the store and items within it. When you need a cart load of items from household goods to grocery items this is a great place to get them at a good price. But being a large store, it takes lots of time and energy walking all over the store, which I guess is healthy, haha, but not wanted when in a hurry, ha. So plan to spend some time gathering items you want when coming here. The food items always seem fresh and if you use coupons, they accept all types of those. read more

I live downtown but this location is great. It is a short drive thanks to low Indy traffic volume and the really nice exchange at Southport road. I still get a little shocked going into the store. Even though I have been in Indianapolis for a few years now the 10 years in Chicago set a certain expectation for grocery stores in my mind. Tight isles, only a few items on the shelf, every thing within reach..... not at Meijer, I think there is actually a weather pattern in this store. I love the produce section and can almost always find everything I need fresh and crispy at great prices. Some of the bulk items are not great quality but in general I like what I buy there. They even have a craft beer section. Ok, it is a little unimaginative but there are some decent beers here. What does crack me up are certain isles.....for example, milk. How many shelves of 2% are required to sell the milk? Or the chips, cereal, soda isles.....it's kind of awesome to see all of those cheerio boxes lined up. A lot of the non grocery items are ok but not great. However, if you just need a roll of tape, or other common household items you will find it here....after a long walk of course. I still like smaller groceries but do enjoy coming to Meijer to stock up once in a while. read more

No, I'm not talking about that fruit guy. It's Fred Meijer, of course. I remember stepping into my first Meijer store as a kid in the mid-eighties. Yes, I know that is a weird childhood memory to have. I describe it the way that old lady in Titanic described that doomed ship: Meijer was called the Store of Dreams, and it was. It really was Although they were the first "hypermarket," Meijer never grew too big and I think that has allowed them to maintain a friendliness and sense of community about them that other stores lack. We've been getting the same friendly smiles from the same friendly employees for years. We even went to the ceremony when Spencer, the previous store manager, retired last year. I knocked off a star because I've noticed a few changes under the new regime. First, I don't even know who the new manager is. He or she is never out walking around, smiling, and taking care of customers. This is a customer service business and service is important to me. Also, there has been a noticeable drop off in the selection of organic produce. They do carry Grass Point Farms milk so that somewhat makes up for it. All-in-all, this is a solid place to shop for groceries. It's cheaper and has a better food selection than the Target store across the street, and I don't get the creeps strolling the aisles like I do at Wal-Mart. read more

So sorry to write this but feel I must. I just had to deal with their So called Courtesy Dept. Being a good customer does not count for anything. When confusing situations occur. Tried to return something that was from another Meijer. That item had been from a return, where I had gotten a new and same thing item. Confused yet. The clerk or courtesy people at other store did not handle that correctly and never rang up the new exchanged item. So there was really no slip that indicated that new item had been purchased at all. So they would not honor and really did not believe what I told them. read more

Meijer - it's almost as cheap as Wal-Mart with product quality almost as good as Target. Meijer has more variety of products than either Target, WalMart, or grocery stores. Good selection of breads, good selection of produce, good wine, good beer, good cheese. The drugstore section is well stocked. Meijer is the "superstore" I grew up with. I didn't set foot in a Target or Walmart until I was in high school. I'm glad they have a stronger presence now in central Indiana, because I'd much rather shop there. It seems like when the stores first opened, the prices were pretty high but now they are more in line with Walmart but Meijer stores are far, far less annoying. One complaint I have -- and I saw this Richard H's review -- is that it seems like each store is laid out just a little bit differently, especially when it comes to dairy products. I try to organize my grocery list in approximate order of where items are located but, when I shop at Meijer, I always end up backtracking or forgetting an item because it's not where I expect. I really like that they have so many self-service checkout lanes, both express and regular. It does bug me that they don't give you some sort of discount for using them because, let's face it, me using the self check-out means they don't have to pay an employee to be a cashier. When I was at the Meijer on 96th St., I saw a sign about a new reward program, so if you're a regular shopper, it might be something to look into. From the Meijer site, it looks like you set up a coupon account with your cell # and a PIN, so at least there isn't yet another store card to keep track of. read more

I placed my grocery order on Sunday. I did not get any notification that they did not have anything besides the drinks I ordered until I got to the store and waited 30 minutes for the order to be brought out. Of course I not going to accept a order that is missing all but 2 items out of 20 I ordered. They tried to substitute a few things. I specifically said no substitutions as my family has several food and product allergies. I came home and called set on hold for 30 minutes. So, it's not the farmer's market, it's not near my home downtown, but I find myself going here when I seek value and quality, especially when it comes to produce. SInce my diet is heavily plant based, it is pretty important to get a good deal and good quality on bell peppers and other fresh veggies. My options downtown are Marsh-which has pretty awful produce, and/or it is overpriced, and The Famers Market-which is only once a week. Hopefully, when new Marsh location down the street opens, they will be offer higher quality produce than the Marsh/O'Malias, but until then I will probably continue to drive here. I also should add that I kind of like shopping here because I can find everything I need at one store. As a former Chicagoan, I used to have to go to 3-4 places just to complete my grocery list. read more

The meijer store is fine, actually a nice store but beware of the pick up option. I received wrong items, missing items and oh sorry we dont give receipts for pick up orders. I will never order pick up at meijer again. Much better pick up service at competitors. read more
