I had great hopes for this Eye Care practice but have been very disappointed. My first visit more…read morethan a year ago went well enough.... So this year I brought my wife. This year has been a nightmare. I was assigned an appointment with Dr Hammond for glasses and contact lenses. During the exam, I asked for a glasses prescription for normal progressive lenses, and also a glasses prescription for 'computer' glasses which are simply progressives optimized for 36 inch viewing distance. I've had other eye care providers accommodate that request without hesitation. But not Dr Hammond. She flatly stated "No, I don't do that." Confused, I tried to clarify, at which point she became visibly agitated and curt. She said that "isn't how she works" and that the lab making the glasses could just adjust my prescription to make me computer classes. Wow. Never had an eye doctor express any concern with that request, and in fact a doctor at one of the chain eyecare places is the one who suggested it initially years ago. Then came the contacts. Here I asked for three lenses. Basically a far/near split contacts prescription and a third lens prescription for my right eye so I could swap out the near vision contact and wear far/far contacts in certain situations. She agreed, and wrote two prescriptions, but the office is refusing to provide a signed copy of the second prescription. Keep in mind this is a service I PAID FOR... so it's not like I'm asking for a favor. As an over 50 diabetic, I have special concerns regarding eyecare. Had high hopes for Comprehensive Eyecare of Central Ohio, but am beyond frustrated, moving toward disgust. So now my only recourse is to warn others via reviews on as many platforms as possible. TLDR: Go somewhere, anywhere, else!!! You'll avoid paying good money for curt attitudes and broken promises.

Dr. Weaver is great, but the office has implemented the policy of proactively canceling your…read moreappointment every single visit unless you call them a week before hand and reconfirm it. The exact script: "I'm calling about your appointment next week, I'll go ahead and cancel it for you unless you tell me otherwise". To make the assumption that I want my appointment cancled, the appointment that I scheduled in person and made sure I scheduled the rest of my life around, is crazy. They call during work hours to proactively "go ahead and cancel your appointment for you", and I am not able to answer my phone during work hours. I recommend you change your language and use a simple "text C to confirm" service instead of doing me this passive aggressive "favor". I'll "go ahead" and find myself a different practice for my eye exams.

I've worn glasses for the better part of my life and recently I had to deal with the fact that my…read morecurrent prescription wasn't getting the job done. It turns out that the guy I used to go to has moved to another state, so I was on the hunt for a new optometrist. I called yesterday December 29, and they were able to fit me for the next day. Very convenient although I'm not sure if this is the norm. (very very friendly on the phone, by the way.) Upon showing up at 10:00am Dr. Weaver was 10 minutes late. At first I was a little disappointed until I learned that she had thrown out her neck and back the previous evening and had to have her assistant pick her up and take her to the chiropractor early that morning and then driver her to work. Why do I bring this up? Because any other doctor I've ever had would have just canceled the appointment and rescheduled, which would have been very inconvenient for me as I wanted to get in by the end of the year. This was awesome. I felt bad because throughout the exam it was clear she was in some pain, but she didn't make a fuss. 5 star customer service! Her exam was thorough and walked me through any scenarios I might have with my contacts (I've got a slightly special case because I wanted contacts, but work on computers 9+ hours a day which usually means I'm stuck with glasses) She answered all questions, was very friendly and polite. When it came time for the billing she was even willing to work through different payment dates/scheduling to get the best deal from my insurance. (speaking of insurance, I didn't see any omissions as to the providers that she accepts- all the major carriers were there) All in all a really great experience here and with Dr. Weaver (and her assistant, who's name escapes me), she's just such a nice person and very easy to work with that I'll definitely be back and highly recommend you check her out if you're in the market. Speaking of which, when's the last time you shopped around for a new eye doc or got a check up? ;-)

Sharing here as…read moreI've been a customer since 2002 and have always been super happy with their care, service, team of docs and staff, overall efficiency and experiences - super happy with it all. I buy my annual contact lens supply through them and when I was asked this round why I didn't purchase glasses here (I'm that person as I asked for a copy of my rx) and before I could answer why, she offered me options: is it based on cost or amenities or both? Honestly, all of it and she thanked me for my feedback and it continued to be a great experience. Huge fan not to mention in late March I had a little bit of a red eye heading into a weekend and wanted it checked out before the weekend. Was able to secure a quick visit up at the Maxtown location only to find out it was nothing. Attentive, professional and consistent service throughout. Love Professional VisionCare!

Then was taken back for the routine checks with the machines which took all of 5 minutes. Back to the lobby for another 20 minutes. Slight change in prescription (doctor's words not mine) so it's off to the techs for the attempt to sell new glasses. I opted for the replacement lenses for the two pair I already have. $950 and ready in about two weeks. That was three months ago and no call or follow up. Needless to say, I won't be going back. there are plenty of other places where I can get poor service FOR FREE.
