I don't really want to leave this review. I'm a fan of Meijer stores I think that they are better than Walmart. And this one actually had great selections and helpful staff. But what on earth is the odor of this place? I've gotten multiple pick up orders and the staff has always been pleasant but what makes them five stars because after every order I've been sent a survey to see how the transaction went, I always answer them honestly and have been contacted every. Single. Time. and they've corrected the issue or credited me for any issues. The selection is lacking at time but this is the smaller of the two stores in town and that's to be expected. I encourage people to contact meijer directly regarding any issues and I assure you they'll make it right, I've been extremely impressed by their customer service. The fruit hasn't been up the standards I'm used to the last few trips, though I only shopped at oryana for ten years prior to moving to the side of town and that is a risk you take when you don't pick it out yourself. The selection of health and beauty items is decent, but again don't try to compare this meijer to target or the meijer in TC, and adjust your expectations accordingly. The plant section is fabulous and I've gotten some incredible house plants I including a pink princess and two birkin philodendrons for under $25 each. If people are on vacation they need to take a chill pill and stop expecting everything to the as where they're visiting from. If you wanted the same grocery store you're used to - STAY HOME. Stop trying to turn our town into a carbon copy of where you live and choke out the reasons why it's special up here. Manage expectations and relax and if you have gripes about your order use one of the numerous ways listed to contact meijer, they're not looking on Yelp to monitor how you felt slighted bc you didn't bring hand sanitizer. Pretty much the only grocery store around town, so at least it offers a lot! There's everything you need from home goods to grocery items to clothing. Very wide selection of food, especially of beer and other alcoholic beverages. I was most impressed with the home section. I was able to find several useful culinary products for my new apartment, and there was multiple aisles of pots, pans, coffee machines, etc. You could definitely find everything you needed for a standard kitchen within minutes. The only thing is the prices are a little high. For one pair of sweatpants, you have to pay $50. Seems they know they're the only market in town! read more

While on vacation, I Swung by Meijer earlier today to pick up some groceries, drinks, and other essentials. I must say I was very impressed and appreciated the wide selection and offerings. Meijer definitely offers more than the competing markets and grocery stores around town and is a great place to buy groceries for the week or if you just need one or two things. read more

Just left Meijer in Williamsburg, Mi. The customer ahead of us on line coughed and coughed and coughed while checking out. Before we started to check out next we asked for the counter and credit card machine to be cleaned and sterilized. The cashier Thereasa, was obviously mad that had requested she do this. I asked her if it bothered her. She said "there are germs on the air everywhere! Your going to get sick anyway"! I told her that I would rather not risk it. She scowled the whole time she was waiting on us. Her supervisor (Sandy) came up to the counter and I told her that the employee needed to be friendlier to the customers. She replied "I know". As I walked away the two of them were laughing together. I won't be a customer there again. read more

I have to say the staff at this location is absolutely amazing. I have a side hustle and am at this Meijer multiple times a day, most of the week and have been for just about two years. I say without hesitation the staff here have ALWAYS been nice, helpful, and personable. I have the pleasure of talking to some of the employees more than others, and they are great humans. Even though they have been short staffed since I've been doing my side hustle, they are always upbeat, and doing the best they can. Some of these people who have left negative reviews must not realize that most businesses, including Meijer are short staffed which can be exhausting. Are you always perfect at your job, a job that works with the public. Maybe you should try working in customer service for a few months. If you come back after those couple of months and tell me that every single minute of every single day you've been upbeat, and on top of your game 100% then you are a prodigy. You never know what one is going through. I love this Meijer and the people who work at it. Keep up the great work and thanks for all your help, especially when I was a rookie. read more

On my very first visit, I asked three different employees for help in locating an item. One ignored me. One said "I'm on the clock- ask someone else." And the third gave me incorrect information. Later that week, I tried home delivery (trying to avoid in-store incompetence). After three texts postponing my reserved time later and later ( they eventually actually moved it to a ridiculous 11pm-midnight delivery), it was moved to the next day. No explanation. No apology. Totally ruined a family event since a large grocery order was never delivered. Meijer- you have a huge employee training issue. I'll be using your competitors from now on. read more

This place sucks from unfriendly employees to consistently have stocking issues in the grocery department and managers who seem to careless about customers I'm done. Ungodly mess. Shopped for over an hour. Spent $400-something. Couldn't find stuff. No one to ask. Shampoo and bath soap nearer to kayaks than groceries by about 100 yards. Two birds standing around directing people to cash registers where the cashier bags and I loaded. If they are looking for ways to show contempt for customers, they've accomplished their goal. What a mess of a business model. A pity people take it. read more

We live very close to this Miejer. I have to admit that when it was being built we were not thrilled at the idea of having it so close to our quite little space of the world. But since it has actually been here...we have loved it!!! It's been life changing to be so close! So convenient....I have to say we make more late night ice cream/hot pocket runs then we should! We have been very pleased with the cleanliness of the whole store. The pharmacy is wonderful, very helpful with all of our medications. And the employees are very friendly. A few of them have gotten to know me well and always have kind words and chit chat. Very nice, well run store! read more

We are here only in the summers with our RV. This is our second summer. We love a lot about this Meijer, especially since we do not have them at home. Selection, availability, the garden area, huge liquor selection as well as the home section are our favorites. However, what we've noticed this summer compared to last summer is the long wait to check out. The last 2 times we shopped here, during the week, there were only 3 checkers, and all had at least 3-4 people waiting in their lines. There must have been 20 self check, but I refuse to do that. I always bag my groceries since I bring TJ bags, but shopping then having to check them out too is not something I will do. Yesterday early afternoon the 3 checkers who were working looked brand new. They were very slow, looked like they hadn't been trained properly, and not friendly. What is that about? The young man who checked us out did not even know most of the produce we were purchasing, and had to ask what it was and then look it up. No wonder it takes forever to get out of there. My biggest suggestion is to hire more checkers and train them well. read more

This store is absolutely terrible!!!! The shelves are bare, they have limited selections! When you do find something good, the reeplace it with something else!!! The real kicker is the recycle area! Seriously $25.00 limit? Not only that, there are 6 openings and 4 are closed for some reason so all of rural America is in there depositing their Miller light cans fo three hours and you can't do your recycling!!! You charge the deposit so make it at least somewhat easy to come back and redeem!!! read more

Rude and unfriendly employees, starting with the greeters and continuing up to the store manager. Everything is the customer's fault! The checkout people act like they are doing you a favor just to be there. Employees run away and duck into the back rooms if you are searching for a product. read more

The other Meijer in Traverse City is closer to me, but when I travel out of town (relatively frequently), this Meijer is directly on my route home. It's convenient and usually not too busy. I have never had an excessive wait in the checkout lines, typically visiting on weekend afternoons or evenings. At first, the different layout of this store tripped me up, but the signage is clear and makes it easy to find what you're looking for. The store sushi is also excellent, which was a pleasant surprise. If I was in Acme for the evening, I would visit just for the veggie sushi. I generally only buy groceries here, but the produce is always fresh and the shelves are always well stocked. They carry just about everything I could hope to buy, from strawberries to dairy free Ben and Jerry's. The prices are always excellent. It's a Meijer, and it lives up to my grocery store expectations. read more
