It takes forever to get an appointment with them. I had to wait over 9 months for an appointment. I confirmed it on the Thursday before my Monday appointment. I show up on time for my appointment and they said that "somehow" my appointment was cancelled along with someone else earlier that day. They had put someone in my slot and took them back but said that their hygienists would have work me in or I could make another appointment 6 months out from now!!!! The front desk blonde woman had an attitude as soon as I pushed back on the fact that they made the error and shouldn't have the person they put in my appointment not have to wait and I do. The "manager" then came out and was just as bad with her customer service skills as the receptionist. She stated that I either take their offer or leave. read more

Always a great experience at Meister Dental. Welcoming and well trained staff. The locations are clean, modern, and well kept. Our whole family comes here and I have to say they treated our young kids extremely well, especially during a cavity treatment. A++ on the pediatric dentistry. Meister Dental Group has two locations. One location is in Harrison, and the other location is in Fairfield. We have been going to the location in Harrison for years. (I just realized I have never written a review.) The waiting room is decorated with comfortable leather chairs, and sofa. Grey and blue walls coupled with warm/soft lighting are all designed to put patients at ease. The staff alway have smiles on their faces. They have always been super sweet, and respectful. None of us has dental anxiety. I know that for many that that is a real thing. Even knowing that we don't have dental anxiety, the staff always explains what they are doing step by step, as well as asks how we are doing throughout the visit. At the end of the visit, Dr. Meister always recaps what the hygienist did, then goes over his findings. There is another dentist in the group. We have only seen Dr. Meister. Each examination chair has a TV to watch. While this is not a pediatric dentist, the staff is great with children. My children actually enjoy coming here. There are always other children coming or going when we are here as well. A nook for children is in the waiting room. The nook includes it's own TV with choice of watching shows or playing video games. Kids also get to pick a prize at the end of their visit. Both children and adults leave with a goodie bag. The goodies usually include a toothbrush, mini toothpaste, and mini dental floss. The mini floss and toothpaste are great to save for travel. We have had nothing but good experiences at Meister Dental. read more

The billing and claims department needs to be organized better. I was never informed that my dental kicked back 3 claims due to not getting a Explanation of benefits (EOB) form from my insurance. We changed dentists due to them becoming out of network in 2022. My husband had to go back to them for a warranty on his crown in December of 2022 and that is when they informed him that we had a $900 bill (I have never had a bill because my dental covers everything). So I had to contact the insurance company (medical mutual) and they stated that they never received a claim. I contacted Meister back and they resubmitted the claim. I took the EOB form to them and they stated that they would get it submitted to my dental. My dental informed them that since it has been a year they cannot cover it. So Meister said the only thing they could do for me is offer me the no insurance plan. I had to pay $300 when it should have cost me nothing. All because it wasn't handled properly from the claims/billing department, and then they didn't contact me in a timely manner to get it resolved. read more

Takes forever to get an appointment, insurance covers 2 cleanings a year and with them your lucky if you can get in twice a year, here's an idea, work some weekends or full days or stop taking new patients. Claims department is rude and tried to tell me I needed to pay 100% for a Root Canal when my insurance covers it at 50% back in 2021. Went to another dentist and had no issues, My husband decided to stay here and has nothing but issues with billing, yet again telling him he owes for a filling when my insurance covers them at 100 %. I actually had my insurance company (MedBen) call them and speak with Morgan since she's is the rude one that decided to tell me they don't do free dental. I didn't ask for free dental just file my claims correctly and you won't have any issues. She was filing it as Out of Network when my insurance doesn't have a Network. Told them to cancel my husbands appointment and we would be going elsewhere where someone is actually treated like a respectable patient. read more

Meister Dental Group provides absolutely superb service. From personal and friendly contacts to semi-annual cleaning to far more complex crowns and bite related issues. Have been a patient there for years. They put in several crowns. And they demonstrated an ability to work around problems created many years ago. I will not be changing dentists ever again. They do not attempt to upsell you on added services that are of marginal value. And, if they do recommend something, you most likely need it and the price will be extremely competitive. You cannot go wrong with Dr. Meister and his staff. They are the best I've ever experienced and I drive 30 minutes to see them. It's well worth the effort! read more

I went to Meister Dental 7/13/21 for an exam. I had been having pain in my right lower back tooth. Dr. April Sprague was very nice and she made a plan on what I needed done. She was going to pull the right lower tooth due to infection and bone loss. She also found a cavity in my top left back tooth that she said needed filled. I also had a broken tooth, which had been broken for years, on my left bottom side of my mouth. Since it did not bother me, we agreed to not bother with it at this time. She was just to fix the problems. I have an appointment on 8/3/21 to have this work done. When I arrived the dental hygienist went over the plan, which was what we had agreed to. She advised that they would numb the left side. Then fill my tooth. After that they would numb the right side and pull the other tooth. They numbed my left side and I sat for a while. Dr. Sprague came in and said she was going to start on the filling. She did some drilling and the I heard cracking noises and felt pressure. She pulled my broken tooth! She wasn't suppose to pull that tooth! I told her, with my numb mouth, that she wasn't suppose to pull that one. The one on the other side was the one that hurting and I needed it out. She got very flustered and said they don't normally numb both sides. Which I found weird because that is what the paper that I received after my 1st visit said. She did agree to remove the other tooth at that time. Thankfully because it really hurt! The Hygienist whisper to the billing clerk to only charge me for what was I had agreed to for my out of pocket. When I say the bill they did charge my insurance company for removing both teeth, when they were only to remove 1. I already had a fear of dentists. This certainly did not ease my fear. Now it hard to eat certain foods, since I am missing a middle tooth on the left side of my mouth. Please make sure that when you go to this dentist that she is aware of what is to be completed. She did not look at my records prior to coming in to do my procedure. I don' want anyone else to go thru what I have gone thru. read more

Dentists are great. Office billing is AWFUL. They don't really check your benefits. They guess. They overbilled me for a procedure and kept my money for 2 months. They billed the wrong insurance for another visit and I had to get involved with the improper insurance company and the practice to get it straightened out. My provider also told me they had no record of calls from the office. Another time I had to remind them to respond to a request from my provider so a claim could be processed. This chronic problem is making me change dentists, as I am tired of having to fix their errors. I was even told by my provider to find another dental office! read more
