This Asian Market has been around for over 20+ years. Since I was a child. Through the years as I grew they did as well. Nice to come back to visit your hometown and shop at your local market where they have all your needs. The kids are now helping mom and pops run the shop now that they are all grown. I love it. Supermarket is cleaned and organized. The service is very good. Makes you wanna come back. I made our Cambodian Authentic dish; rice, chicken, pork blood, porridge soup. During my stay I choose Mekong to shop for all my items and they had everything. One stop shop! Loved how they grew along with their family owned business. Beautiful. read more

I always get the whole shrimp with head and tails intact and a whole fish for new years eve celebration. They also have fresh oxtails in their seafood fridge section which sells out fast. They have different cuts of lamb meat in the freezer section. read more

It's a small store but the staff was really friendly and helpful. Sometimes, when I go into an Asian market as a person who is so white that I practically glow-in-the-dark, I'm treated disdainfully. That was NOT the case here. I didn't fee the need to prove that I knew the products I was shopping for and had no problems asking questions . I'd give this store my loyalty just for that. However, they also had produce that I haven't been able to find at other stores like young coconut, rambutan, longan, mangosteen, hot chilies, enoki mushrooms, kombucha pumpkin, etc. They also had rice cakes in the refrigerated section so I didn't have to make knock offs at home or get the dried ones that always turn out kind of slimy and icky. The had a variety of canned and dried products- some that you can get at other grocers and some that were obviously imported. I was excited to see the dried herbs and in the drink coolers, mogu mogu's . We love the lychee flavored ones. The back of the store also has a meat market with an assortment of atypical grocery meats. I saw various livers, pig ear, lechon, poultry, seafood and balut. Even though the building itself was small, crowded and kind of dingy, I'll definitely be back! read more

They give great recommendations and definitely are knowledgeable about all the things their store carries. F O O D: Everything at the store seems to be of good quality and fresh. I haven't seen anything with mold in it, old cans, and even a crazy fishy smell to the seafood. You can ask them to ground the meat they have, and they let you choose the parts you want grounded up. I am so happy I found this market! This is where I find a big hunk of pork belly, with the skin on. I use the skin to make aspic that I use to make broth filled dumplings. This family owned market is sooooo cute, and everyone is so friendly and energetic, I love how welcoming they are. You can find Vietnamese and Filipino ingredients and staples here, as well as ingredients for Korean and Japanese and Chinese cuisines. Oh and Indian curries powders. This place has an impressive seafood/meat butcher counter. Like a whole catfish. Lots of shrimp. They have the vietnamese cold cuts, asian sausages, and all the Asian sauces you can dream of. There's also a large selection of asian produce - japanese eggplants, the best sized ginger, huge carrots, lots of mushrooms, jackfruit, thai chilis, taro, omg banana leaves, tamarind, etc. Oh gosh, and mangosteens and longans. I get all my bean thread noodles and melona here. They also have boba popsicles and ube ice cream. Sometimes they run out of popular seasonal items, particularly if its a big Asian holiday like Lunar New Year, but ask them when the next shipment comes in! They restock. read more

What a great little market. Lots of specialty hard to find ingredients and super friendly service. The cashier was super funny and friendly too. I was wondering around looking for something and a sweet young lady came up to me and asked if I needed help. Turns out they didn't have what I needed, but she helped me find a perfectly acceptable alternative and explained the differences to me!!! Great little Asian Market. Packs a diversity of Asian ingredients along with good looking seafood. Prices are really good compared to other Asian groceries. Products seem like they have a good turnover. Lots of Pacific Islander items. Other yelp reviewers say this is one of the best places in town to get seafood. It does have a bit of a smell, but it's tolerable and the staff is nice. Will definitively add this as a regular stop. Five stars for diversity of product and nice staff. read more

My husband loves their oysters there but we called to see if they sold crab legs there and got told "We don't give our prices over the phone!" You have got to be kidding me, what a damn joke. If you want consumers to drive to that side of town the least you could do is have some decent customer service. read more

Wonderful Asian market located within Santa Rosa with a few problems. When I visited this market I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff who was willing to answer my question, which is great! It looks like the store could really hold a fair share of food, but this is where my review starts to wander in a negative direction. I may of caught them on a bad day, but it seems most of their items were out of stock sadly. I asked one of the employees about a few missing items I was unable to locate and I got a shrug in the sense of disappointment that they did not carry it or we're out of stock. Another downer was most of the veggies were a tad old, but I did find what I needed and it seemed relatively fresh, so I was happy. To sum up a few other minor negative aspects, limited parking during rush hours, and the $10 minimum for credit cards. With that all aside, I may of caught them on a low stocked day, judging from the other Yelpers pictures. I was able to get most of what I stopped in for, so I was not completely dissapointed. Would I stop by again, you can bet on it, as I do not like to fully judge a restaurant, shop, or market solely on the first review unless is is REALLY bad. Truly great place. I got the best dragon fruit ice ever eaten here. They could try to keep the meat section more clean. It would allow me to buy my meat here vs traveling to whole foods or the likento buy meat. Asian markets especially mom and pop ones commonly seem to lack in this department. Please package your meat better, keep the place smelling like somewhere people want to be and your customers will linger longer. As a result buy more products. read more

Nice little Asian market, I've been going here for years. I can find almost anything I need for my Asian dishes. I LOVE going there for their exotic tropical fruits. My favorite are lychees! But I've seen them carry rambutan, dragonfruit, longan, jackfruit, and even durian. They also have lots of seafood, fresh and decently priced. Best place, maybe only place in the North Bay, to get consistently FRESH oysters! Granted the store could use a bit of sprucing up, but as long as I can still get my fresh groceries, I'm happy! read more

Not the prettiest store around, but if you can get past how it looks and the smell it sometimes has inside (really, it's not that bad, but it is ever present), there are some great things here for cheap prices. They have off street parking as well as a lot to the right of the store with plenty of spaces. Things worthy of noting: * they sell zip-loc bags of basil, curry leaves, and various other herbs for $1 a bag * they carry tamarind paste and pulp * huge selection of varying SE Asian sauces in jars -- an entire aisle * celery bunches for $1 * baby bok choy, kai lan, all for less than half the price at Safeway * they sell Sriracha and other chili oils Things to keep in mind: * not sure this is the place to buy meat, but there's always a ton of people when the seafood comes in * they take credit/debit cards if you spend over $10, but note that your entire card number prints out on the copy you sign and give back to them read more

While the family that runs this Asian market is absolutely awesome, the quality of the fresh food has been steadily declining. They used to have a really nice selection of fresh seafood (including live Blue Crabs) but lately, the counter looks like someone just tossed everything in blindfolded. My experience here gets better every time I come. They recently installed a new AC system which makes shopping so much easier, especially during the summer! Had been coming to this store but on rare occasions just to get some Thai tea. Recently married a Filipina and she kept telling me she missed her native food. Came to Mekong market and her eyes just lit up when she saw the great selection of Filipino foods they have. Now we come in about once per week when she wants to cook. Great friendly staff and great prices. Just the seafood smell took some time for me to get used to since I don't like seafood. Other than that love this little store.
