Went in on a Friday after work, and they had Vietnamese prepared foods: -Banh cuon $5.99 - steamed rice rolls with pork and black fungus were fresh and soft. Went to the Aroon Thai Market on the advice of the Hot Thai Kitchen web site. They definitely pointed me in a good direction. It's a tiny store bulging with goodies - dry bagged items, canned and bottled items, veggies on the floor, and some other slightly processed veggies in the refrigerator section. I was on a mission to GO there, but I wasn't looking to fulfill a particular recipe. I did find a hard to find Chinese item, Szechuan Hot Bean sauce, but in a 16 oz can, instead of the "cat food size" I'm used to. Since it's only 15 mins door to door from my home in Petaluma, I'll plan on buying my ingredients there for my first Thai meal for the Hot Thai Kitchen site. Stay tuned. Film at 11! read more

I was able to find all the ingredients that i needed and more! Their prices are ridiculously fair and the ladies that work there are soooo helpful and nice. Their selection of sauces, FRESH produce, dry goods and frozen items are so wide ranging from thai, korean, japanese, filipino and some items i havent seen in my life ( and ive been everywhere in asia! ) Such an amazing find! Took me 20+ years to finally visit this market. My Santa Rosa native wife was incredulous, "why do you want to go there? What do you plan to get?" My answer: "Sense of adventure & some Thai items". I've been reading the cookbook Pok Pok about Northern Thailand cuisine this past week. So yeah, I'm gonn'a try some simple recipes. The store is small, jam packed. The 4 aisles are 18" wide. Shelves piled to the ceiling. Lighting is poor, permanent late twilight. Fresh-ish produce in boxes piled on the floor. 4 glass display freezers with all kinds of unrecognizable stuff that looks like it's been in there since 2010. Cans galore, 1000's of packages. Lots of noodles which is surprising as noodles are not a Thai thing, it's an import from China. I spend 13 minutes rummaging. Buy a big bag worth of various exotic vegetables, some packages and cans. About 25 pounds of stuff. Total price = $18.72!!!! Gets my vote for the ugliest food market in Santa Rosa. Also gets my vote for best selection of Thai imported goods in Santa Rosa. Nice friendly helpful man at cashier. Despite my wife's disbelief I will visit again to buy those cute little green round eggplants. And don't forget the little red thai chilies. Heard good reviews about the shopping place... but was not too encouraged when reached there especially during this covid period. Store has lots of stuff but it's all distributed and lying all over, space is very cramped and the goods are kept haphazardly making it difficult to assess what to pick. Veges did not look fresh or appealing, at all. My son though did find the Asian Ingredients he was looking for to do his Asia Meals' parties, but with a little more organising of the place n goods, the place can definitely make for a better shopping experience. read more

Nice market that is for Thai specialty foods to find on ingredients to be made at home cooking! They have sticky rice which is coined as sweet rice on the packaged rice bags. They have sandwiches and egg rolls as small bites to eat if you're on the road and want to munch! I like the fresh green veggies and other produce they have, such as cilantro, Asian mushrooms and eggplants. Canned and frozen Asian groceries and Asian sauce items are found here! Love this Market. They are packed with many wonderful items . I enjoy walking in to see what unique and interesting things they have . I always get the can of : Cafe Du Monde Coffee Along with Thai tea loose leaf bags. They have drippers as well to make a wonderful Vietnamese Coffee at home . Just add ice and condensed milk and ta da iced Vietnamese Coffee. I see they have fruits and tons of Noodles and Canned goods! I just want to browse through everything. The man who works there is very nice and guided me to my specific items I was looking for , very helpful. Looking forward to shopping there soon again ! Excellent for whatever you need for Asian food. Nice fresh produce. The store is packed , reminds me of Thailand, and I did not mind that.

I can't tell you how many times I've driven past this place and never stopped. But luckily my daughter loves checking out shops like this and we decided to finally stop and explore. Easy parking outside and location is convenient. Don't be fooled by the outside as the inside can actually hold a lot of products. It is small and feels a bit crowded in the store but I was able to easily find things and there is some order and organization. Prices are good. I was surprised on how inexpensive my purchase was. Store staff were very friendly and answered my questions regarding the products. read more

This adorable little market in Santa Rosa was fun. I was there on a Monday morning and It had a wonderful Thai vibe and everyone was helpful. They do have dynamite prices! I got Savon Coconut Cream for less than $2.00 a can. They have a nice selection of noodles in the refrigerated section. Their produce was fantastic and the variety was excellent. I saw things here I have not seen in other Asian markets. The Lemongrass comes in big bundles and shallots came in small bags instead of individual pieces. They said produce comes in on Wednesday. There were so many unusual items, I really will have to go back to explore further. They boxed my items up for me and were very gracious. The parking lot is big and easy to park in. I got twice the ingredients for the price I usually pay in other markets. read more

I have been going to this store for years , since Jackie , the owner started it . It has changed quite a bit since then since she has new group of people managing it . I find the husband and wife team very helpful and polite and always cheerful . The fresh produce comes in on Tuesdays and Wednesday . It is like a zoo in the tiny store which is nerve wracking in Corona times . The store is stocked with SouthAsian and SouthEast Asian food staples but it is a jungle out there with hair dye boxes nestled with lentils and jasmine rice . I always discover some hidden item which I had not noticed before . I used to love going there on Friday preCorona times, they would set out produce outside , reminded me of Asian markets . Delivery dates of the veggies are Tue and Friday They have whole wheat rice noodles and rice wraps that most store don't have yet. caution: stay away from the msg instant noodles, the asile are very narrow, if you are claustphobic, don't go after work hours. read more

Pricing is significantly more reasonable than Whole foods and Safeway. Also a pretty good selection of chinese as well as thai, cambodian seasonings. They also carry my favorite chili paste, laoganma. It's a convenient location as I live north of Santa Rosa and can get my Trader Joe's, Aroon and TJ maxx trips in one go. Well, it could get better - but because they have everything I want at good prices they get the 5 star treatment. Inside it is dark and scary with narrow passages to inspect the goods. I got a pound of real sea salt (the moist kind) for $2.30. After I tasted it, I think I'll go back for a few more pounds. (This is good for pickling - and tastes better than "normal" salt, but you need a grinder because it's moist and it comes raw. Buy yourself a salt grinder on Amazon and you will wonder why you use to eat the dry stuff.) They have all sorts tapioca - pearls, powder and grains. I wanted some ginger root, shallots and black vinegar. They had everything... but the shallots were from China. Next door is Thai take out if you want some cooked food - but I did not try that. It may be heavy on the Thai food - but they have a large selection of Chinese and Vietnamese products. My vinegar was the Chinese type I was looking for. Whoever is buying stuff there has a good sense of what the good stuff is and what is not. read more

Love this market. Great authentic items at very reasonable prices. They carry my favorite brand of curry paste: Maesri. They also have fresh foods and sometimes have fresh lemongrass. If you are GLUTEN FREE then try the La Bo De Vegetarian Soy Sauce, the ingredients do not list wheat and I (gluten-intolerant) have not had a reaction to it, and it's the best tasting soy sauce I've ever had! read more

I keep meaning to do a review for this market but finally I'm getting to it. This tiny store is amazing! I truly fell in love with it after my cousin introduced me to it. Before i used to go to the Asia market near Raley's but boy now after comparing the prices I save so much more money here and the customer service here so much better. Ok let me give people a heads up... Every single Friday they literally bring in a truck load of fresh veggies, freshly wrapped spring rolls, Vietnamese sandwiches, Peking duck, fresh dim sum, desserts and so much more. I think the shipment comes around 930 or 10 am but make sure you get there early because the parking lot gets filled up so fast n the food goes just as quickly. I love every thing I've purchased here. The young coconuts are so fresh and delicious! The fresh veggies are awesome and they have everything authentic different Asian countries. It is a tiny store and it can get very crowded but who cares? Trust me the wait is worth it! Oh n the best part is I swear the prices here is so much cheaper than the other Asian markets in Santa Rosa. N the customer service is the best..
