Lots of food. Lots of space. Good times. Big family gatherings solid. I came with fiance and her family and she ordered all the good stuff.

Mekong Palace is a one-stop hub in Mesa for Asian businesses that includes a supermarket, dine-in restaurants, food court, gift shops and other services. They have a nice selection of Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino and Taiwanese restaurants all under one roof. I live near the Asian district and like to stop by here from time-to-time. I have dined at Happy Baos, Tasty Pot, Tea Snow, Sizzling House and a couple places in the food court area in the past. Mekong Plaza hosts occasional events like Chinese New Year and food festivals. A huge expansion recently took place that will add more businesses.

Amazing selection of fruits

It was first time here and I was really impressed with the selection of fruits. The jackfruit was bought here was a large chunk that we paid $19 for. It was enough to fill a large salad bowl full and was the best tasting jackfruit we've had in the US.it was very busy with lots of people. We went on a Saturday afternoon.

I just love going here because it's a different feeling! The decor is cute and welcoming! I like that it's an indoor mall with restuarants and stores inside, as well as, Balboa tea spots. I usually go to walk around and stop at Bo for dumplings. Recommend going here even if just to browse just to get out of the house. While you're there, order food to go, as they have several restaurants in and outside of the strip mall at this location.

Super cool Asia bizarre. It's in an old mall which as an 80's kid I find funny. Brings back memories. Lots of great food choices. Restaurants. A food court area. A grocery store that is stocked and amazing. A coupon Asian shops with things I have no clue about but I saw Buddha, incense, clothes. I will be back for sure.

They have a dim sum place in the plaza. Lots of people go and I bring my friends. There are many other shops there. This location is similar to the Lee Lee store area in the Mesa or Chandler area. There is another similar place near 99 ranch in Phoenix, though I am not sure if 99 ranch is still in that plaza. The place can get hectic and crowded. Make sure to stay away during the lunar New year unless there is something you have to buy from there. The parking lot is jammed at that time. I get scared my car will get hit it is so crowded. The inside of the plaza itself smells maybe like fish. It is hard for me to say because there are so many restaurants around and the main supermarket that sells a variety of different things. I have went to unphogettable, the tea shop tea avenue, and the dim sum restaurant Mekong palace.

Pork belly and veggies

Met a friend here for lunch so decided to eat at the food court. I ordered from a viet place and she ordered from Filipino place. I ordered the bun ga nuong which was chicken, veggies and vermicelli. My meal was ok. Nothing special for $15. Hers was good she said (pork belly and veggies) but overall would try others since wasn't anything out of this world. The 3 stars was mostly for the supermarket which has a lot of good produce and meat.

Very 'hardcore' Asian food super market. Apparently if they do not have it (Asian food) you don not need it. :)

Does anyone know where the vendor/seller went that was in walkway area in front if the shops and supermarket?

If you mean the Taiwan pancakes, they are there on the weekends.

Does anybody know if Jerky King is still open?

Yes They are..

Where can I get Vietnamese appetizers "bun beo" (mini rice cakes with dried shrimp and green bean toppings)?

Banh Beo appetizer at Hue Gourmet! They're not the best but they'll do!

My friend got the smoked kielbasa dill pickle soup w/sour cream and I got the solyanka (beef, smoked kielbasa, veggies). We were intrigued by the dill in the first soup and that was mild but still tasty. The solyanka was delicious as well. For pierogis, we got the 12 plate to share three different kinds: farmer's cheese & chives, potato & cheese & jalapeño, and potato & bacon & onions. I think my favorite was the chives one followed by the bacon one. The jalapeño one was pretty mild. I wish that they had told us how the flavors were arranged on the plate. The honey cake was really delicious and the layers looked amazing. Even as full as I was, I ate the whole slice. The restaurant is attached to their little market. It's cozy inside and quite cute/quaint. I do agree that the service can be a bit slow in a way that was noticeable but didn't leave me feeling neglected. I would definitely return to try more of the menu.
