I been coming here for a long while and man was i just let down today, long day at work me and the wife agreed let's just get Ben bros it's always so good! Ordered there because i was around the corner and it was all good and fine until i was walking out to my car, owner or manager eas talking to a customer he recognized which was awesome to see some one engage with customers like that. Got home order was way wrong and noodles were hard (not cooked) called in and felt almost hesitant to replace it, got back to the store and said customer the manager/owner knew thru all his chicken wing bones on the floor. I mentioned the mess to owner he said "that's the city's problem maybe the cats will eat it" asked for a side of rice for the replacement order said he's close and has no rice which is fine but i shut my mouth. 1 probably won't be invited back 2 way smaller portions from our previous visits read more

They close at 6 PM on Saturday but they stop taking orders at 5:30 so the restaurant technically close at 5:30? Anyways, don't bother wasting your time driving there if you're within half an hour of their "closing" time as it seems that the closing time applies to the store and not the restaurant. 2 stars for establishing improper expectations with regards to their closing time. 4 stars for the food. From the outside, this place looks like a NY bodega. You walk in and it's part convenience/grocery store, part restaurant. We only ever come here for the chicken wings, which are cooked to order. The staff are nice and friendly. The store is well maintained. There are no frills about this place but, the fact that we have been going here for over 9 years is a testament to their staying power. This is a hidden gem. A friend brought a menu from here to our office. She said it's a little store that is also a order to go chinese food. She said the food is really good. She suggested we try it. The following week I called in an order. When I got there in 15 minutes it was ready. Guy at the register was very polite and up beat. I asked for hot oil & extra soy sauce. No extra charge. I took it back to the office to eat. It was hot, fresh and plentiful. I had the chicken bowl. Very good sauce. The chicken was cubed, clean and delicious. I recommend this place. Yes, Phoenix is sadly not known for having the best Chinese food. I've been ordering from some of the places on Postmates and I usually order sweet and sour pork. The sweet and sour pork of my childhood always tasted like pork and had lots of peppers, onions and pineapple. Now sometimes you just get a plate of fried nuggets with sauce on the side. Today I got the craving and decided to try Ben's brothers. The pork tasted like pork, the sauce wasn't overly sweet and there was lots of peppers, onions and carrots. No pineapple, but I didn't care. Please avoid this place at all costs, it is cheap for a reason, the food is bland and very greasy like if they fry the food in warm oil. All plates come with rice and an egg roll, the fried rice is just disgusting tasted like dirty water. I was NOT expecting to like this place so much. So when I order delivery from Ben Brothers, I expected generic, prepackaged-quality "Chinese" food. But boy, was I ever surprised. We ordered a few different shrimp dishes and the crab puffs, and while didn't see it being made, I'm absolutely positive it was made fresh. The veggies and shrimp had that bright, flavorful snap and burst that can only be brought by fresh ingredients. I was super disappointed by the food from here. I was craving Chinese food and since I live far from my favorite Chinese food place (New Asian Kitchen), and was too tired to drive there safely, I decided to order from this place. I had the choice of trying this place or trying Autumn Court Chinese (for the first time for both) and I'm pretty sure I made the wrong choice. I ordered the crab puffs, which all I could taste was the green onion, and the orange chicken entree with steamed rice. The chicken was extremely bland and chewy and the rice was ok, just ordinary white rice which is kinda hard to screw up. I think the best part of the meal was the fortune cookie, which was just your run of the mill fortune cookie.
