Considering a couple of small improvements for fairness: placing short dated products on sale or checking fermentation levels on available kimchi for variety. Disappointing in what could be a great spot?! Little to no interest or support in carrying organic options throughout and when they have they discontinue the products in a few months...I like their ginger, the natto when it is organic, the seaweed, masago, three sisters organic choices, purple potatoes when they are organic, sauces when they are organic. Finally!!! Asian grocery just around the corner from us! Most Asian stores are usually a drive away (Chandler) so to see one not too far from Phoenix makes my heart happy. Also... this place is huge and caters to quite a bit of international cuisine! Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Indian, European, Mediterranean ingredients (I can go on..), this place will MOST likely have it. Their inventory is huge in terms of hard-to-find ingredients and unique snacks! Some of the grocery may be a little overpriced but they're always stocked up with goods that aren't easy to find. This would have been a 5-star review if their meat/seafood options were better but can only imagine this place growing bigger (hopefully!). It would have been amazing if this place had a butcher area to get thin-cut meats/higher quality meats.. but that would have just been the cherry on top! This place is located on NE corner of Southern and Dobson diagonal from Banner Desert and about 1 mile South of H Mart. Much smaller but more parking and less crowded. Not sure how prices compare but have a decent selection of Asian groceries. Like H Mart more on the Korean side. After living in Scottsdale for over 10 years, my favorite Asian grocery store is Asiana Market. Located in Mesa at the Dobson/Southern intersection, it is in a medium sized plaza. Upon entering, you will notice that there is no strong fishy smell that other larger Asian Grocery stores frequently have. This is very unique and appreciated by myself who is very smell adverse. It's well lit and well stocked. I especially love the produce section. I always buy some fruit, Asian pears, shine muscat grapes or what is in season. The fresh vegetables are always tasty. I really like how clean the store is, the floors and neatly stocked shelves fill me with a sense of calm that I cannot experience at other Asian grocery stores. The staff and even the clientele are calm and courteous. I have shopped at all the well known stores and yet I always come back to Asiana. It is my go to store to shop for my Asian groceries. Beyond the checkout and to the side is a snack food court area and nice bakery. I really like the small size of this eating area. Before they had their first expansion on the west side I was enthusiastic. Their growth eventually took them to the east side of Dobson. I didn't see the point and currently go for specific items. Some of which they still carry. They could have been the personalized small to medium sized market. The music is quite different than the coldness of personnel. I just learned that Tuesday is Senior discount day. Two larger markets have much friendlier markets. One is about the same. Asiana is better in some things they offer but don't communicate. Perfectly clean, isles never crowded, well stocked shelves, good selection, lots of parking, excellent prepared foods, very good kitchen goods, good food court and bakery. Stopped here since I was at the bakery. I was looking for a new specific bagged ramen but they didn't have it. This place also carries really good cold noodles that come in 2 portions per bag for $6.99. Only Asiana and HMart have this product. The spicy cold noodles with broth and sauce is my favorite! If you're looking for specific Korean items, you can find it at one of these two stores. Some items can be pricy while others seem reasonable. Other items I can only find here are the soup stock pouches (10 per bag) and gochugaru (red pepper powder) in a shaker bottle. I use both of these to make kimchi jjigae. I can't remember the prices of these since I purchased them a while back. I wish the Asian grocery store in Chandler carried these so I wouldn't have to drive to Mesa for them. This is a very nice store to visit for East Asian food. I just phoned them to ask about a Chai-Masala spice blend, and the rep said they do not carry Indian food. I will call Lee Lee's and hope they answer the phone! There is also a restaurant and "French" style pastry shop as well. I could get lost in here! My daughter and I set out in search for some mushrooms, all shapes and sizes, as we are very much a mushroom family. This was my first time checking out this market and it surely won't be my last. They have mini carts for the kiddos to enhance the shopping experience for the kiddos and add in a little fun for them. My daughter chose 5 different types of shrooms and loaded up on some of her fave veggies. The produce is fresh and well kept. They had employees restocking and pulling close to date items throughout the store, which was nice to see. We went down each isle and chose some new items to incorporate into our meals. Everything is well organized and labeled so it's fairly easy to shop. The staff was friendly at checkout and even gave me some inspo on some of the items we had chose. Along the other side of the store they have multiple restaurants and tables for dining so you can shop and grab lunch. I couldn't believe how big this store is and how many items they have. Good prices on almost all of their veggies, but you can't beat the Asian specialties like, Baby and Shanghai Bok Choy, bean sprouts, radish sprouts (you've gotta try some), mushrooms, cabbages, and more and more. Usually I go to H mart, but with how big and busy it is I do tend to get overwhelmed there. This is a nice less busy and smaller place to find awesome Asian products. Today, with Arizona hitting an all time new high for cases 2,227 on our way to 30K, I was wonder how they were doing and if, they were doing anything differently Not to worry, Asiana had everyone masked up and someone disinfecting (photo) the carts with spray, as they were handed them to you. Our Asian family also finds their food court to be one of the best around. They have five different cultural options, including our two favorites: Tous des Jours and Katsu. If you love Korean soup, this is definitely the place to get some soup at an affordable price. The typical price for a kimchi soup at a restaurant is about $10, whereas it is about $5 at this market. Therefore, you would need to go the corner of this market to find a large container of kimchi soup as shown in the picture. Likewise, if you prefer to have soup variations, you would have to find the plastic bag with soup ingredients inside. There are soups for seafood, beef, and other variation as shown in the picture. 2. This korean market also has prepared meals! The meal is in a flat container that has the typical side dish, meat, rice and eggs as shown in the picture. Likewise, this market has prepared side dishes in small containers such as kimchi, radish, cucumber, seaweed, and even eggs as well. 3. This korean market also has some delicious pastries as well such as rice cake and meat (seafood or crab?) cake. Bottom line is this: If you like korean food and you want to save money, consider picking up some Korean products from this incredible location. You will save at least 50% from this market. The cost of food has gone up fast and significantly at restaurants nowadays. It is always nice to have an alternative and this supermarket does the job for your craving. I love this packaged food selections. There are various kind of Kim Chi, soup, fish, lunch box, and sweets. I always picked 3-4 items each time I went there. The black bean soup is so good. The fish with some red/brown sauce is so good. Fish cake and unique kinds of kim chi is so good. Their food court offers delicious food (rice, noodle, pastry). I love this place! Good variety and very clean. The Mekong market and one other market is close by and, there is no comparison! The live tanks are sparkling clean and fresh smelling. Mekong tanks are merely and smelly! I bought one time at Mekong and it was the last! Everything tasted like old fish tank water. Threw it out. Can't recall the name of the other market. It's on Broadway, just East of Dobson, in Mesa. It's much better than Mekong. Asiana is a little pricey but, the quality is there. This is a great little market. It has almost everything I look for when it comes to Japanese and Korean cooking, though it very heavily is geared toward Korean food of course. The staff are nice, and the feel of the store is somewhat luxe which is a great bonus. As much as I don't want it to get crowded, I highly recommend checking Asiana out. During COVID-19 they do require masks and a body temp scan, which I can appreciate. Wonderful variety of produce, though a few items tend to be frequently a bit mushy, most of it is great quality. Meat department is well stocked with plenty of Korean staples and great cuts and marinades of meat. The seafood section is also usually pretty well stocked with things like sashimi, fresh halibut and crab, and an assortment of pre-made seafood balls. Dry goods range from tons of ramen, bags of rice, and teas, to chips, snacks, and seasonings. They have many different kinds of oil and soup bases, as well as bouillons and pastes. The frozen section is pretty well stocked too, lots of dumplings, ramens, udons, and cold noodle dishes as well as a few desserts. In the same section there is a hearty selection of different drinks and some ready to heat and eat soups and meals. The alcohol section has a good variety and there are even small sections for body care, kitchen items, and foods made at asiana that you can grab and go like kimchi, bibimbap toppings and more. Outside the grocery area there are other shops of food stalls as well. Every place I've tried food at has been delicious! I'd definitely recommend stopping by! read more

While I still like shopping here I am disappointed with their cold soups for sale in the kimchi section. There are very little to even say no beef in the spicy BEEF soup. It's mostly kosadi roots and last time I got it there was 2 quarter size pieces of beef, just to get away of calling beef soup I guess. The seaweed soup was almost as bad with very little beef. Side note an employee was falling me and then watched me while I looked at the soups. I'm Asian too so it was very unpleasant to be treated that way from fellow Asian. They have it all at Asiana market! Been coming here even before they moved to this bigger location. They have the best store bought kimchi and a great selection of all Korean food including spices, snacks, and fresh meat/seafood. Lots of Asian beer and Soju to pick from. Their produce section is amazing and the prices are very competitive. I love stopping at Tous les Jour for birthday cakes, which they will give you candles and cake cutter for free. There have been several additions to the food court and they also have a small clothing store and a rice cooker selection that is straight outta the homeland. Ample parking and employees speak English and Korean, so don't be shy. It's always clean, well organized, and an upgrade from the previous location. This place is like a dream come true for me! I'm always making pit stops at lee lee's and Mekong for the things I need and sometimes miss out, now I have this place too! Between the 3 I can find everything I need. Plus, they have everything you need to do your own Korean bbq! There's even restaurants inside. My daughter who only survives off Mac & cheese, pizza, cheeseburgers, and chicken nuggets loved the potstickers at the bbq place. So glad I checked this market out. Decent sized and they have a lot of the products and food that I would buy and use in Korea. Yes some of the prices can be a little ridic but hey most of his stuff is imported, so no complaining. They have a cosmetic counter and also a meat counter. I have been searching high and low for a decent/ clean market to get my Korean necessities such as kimchi, Korean bbq marinade, sesame oil, ice cream, rice, etc. etc. Although I wish their meat department had some pre-marinaded galbi short ribs, I'll take what I can get.
