I've been coming here consistently since July 2023, usually 4 to 6 days a week every single week,…read moreso this place has genuinely been a huge part of my routine and community. My Google review from a year ago gave this place five stars because it truly felt like an amazing space built around dogs, community, and responsible ownership. Looking back at that review now honestly makes the decline even more disappointing, because even just a year ago this place felt completely different in the best way. This place is supposed to be a safe and enjoyable environment for dogs and the people who love them. For many members, our dogs are family, and that's why the recent direction of the business has become genuinely heartbreaking and honestly alarming to watch. A growing number of members are becoming deeply uncomfortable with the decision to repeatedly host large rave-style events at a facility specifically designed for dogs. After previous events, there were already serious concerns about the condition of the property afterward, even after professional cleaning crews had supposedly finished. Members and staff still found debris throughout the space and parking lot and many people are now questioning whether any environment used for late-night parties like this can realistically ever be cleaned well enough to guarantee dogs are safe there afterward. Dogs spend their entire time at this facility with their noses on the ground, sniffing turf, licking surfaces, and putting things in their mouths. That is exactly what dogs do. The idea that dangerous substances, residue, pills, or other hazardous materials could potentially be missed during cleanup is terrifying for pet owners. One mistake could have DEVASTATING consequences for someone's dog. The best comparison I can make is this: imagine if a daycare hosted large rave parties at night and then told parents the next morning that everything had been cleaned and was safe again. Most parents would never feel comfortable with that. That is exactly how many dog owners are starting to feel here. What made this weekend especially upsetting was learning that the business was supposed to reopen after the latest event, only for members to then receive notice that the facility would remain closed due to cleanup issues, with uncertainty about reopening even the next day. That only reinforced concerns that these events are creating problems far beyond a normal private party. At the same time, members continue paying premium annual fees while receiving reduced operating hours, less access, ongoing inventory problems at the bar, and repeated closures tied to outside events. Many people joined because this was marketed as a community-centered space focused on dogs, safety and responsible ownership. Lately, it feels like those priorities are no longer coming first. I know several members who are already questioning whether they will renew their memberships because trust in the safety and direction of the business is starting to disappear.

I went this pet store today after driving 45 minutes because I was so excited to find a leopard…read moregecko for my 5 year old. We originally found a bigger one today at this stor, but it turned out to be a male and we specifically wanted a female. The manager Jaylin was extremely helpful and told us there was also a surrendered leopard gecko that had been brought in two days ago. I asked how much it was and she explained that it didn't have a set price and that all she asked was that we buy two items in the store. I agreed, and since I had already purchased most of the supplies earlier that week , I asked if buying just food would be okay and she said yes. While we were trying to confirm the gender we weren't sure at first, but then I noticed it looked like a female. I asked if we could double check so Jaylin brought over the general manager. When he came over his attitude felt completely different. He also said he thought it was a female but he seemed more focused on making money than on finding the surrendered gecko a good home, unlike Jaylin who was genuinely trying to help. I was told certain items came with the gecko but then he began asking other employees what actually came with it and started removing things including the light. He then told me I needed to spend a flat forty dollars in the store. As this is a smaller store they didn't have much to select from. That didn't seem right to me especially because I called multiple Pet Supermarkets afterwards and they told me that surrendered animals are normally given for free unless they have been cared for for a long time which was not the case here since it had only been two days. The entire interaction made it feel like the general manager was more concerned with making a profit than making sure the surrendered gecko went to a loving home. The original owner surrendered it for free trusting that it would go to a good family not be used as a way to upsell customers.

The review I left with consumer affairs…read more I have a golden doodle that looked like a teddy. While checking in, I noticed a groomer be rude to one of the dogs she was grooming. Lucky me, that was my dog's groomer, (Petco in south Tampa). I had told her what I wanted, which was a trim and for him to still look like a teddy. It was his first grooming experience. She told me that his fur is knotted and that she can't brush it but that she had to cut it short, and that she would leave his tail and face looking like a teddy. She was very condescending during our conversation, and the other groomers could tell she was agitated with me and refused to do the cut I requested. I told her what I wanted. 4+hr later, his fur completely shaved off. The fur on top of his head was so uneven. My pup was acting like if he was treated badly and was lethargic the entire ride home and the rest of the night. Even my friend noticed how he wasn't acting like his usual self. He was quiet and he was covering his face. Doodles are known for being very happy and loving. They act like humans sometimes which makes it easy to read their body language. These groomers need to be taught how to be respectful to the customers and to the dogs. I know for a fact, she purposely and maliciously shaved my dog's entire fur off because of our drop off interaction. She's lucky I didn't make a huge scene when I picked up my dog. He was unrecognizable!! I even said "THAT's MY DOG!????? Are you sure!! He looks like a rat! I attached the before and after photos. NEVER AGAIN! She needs some better training. She shouldn't be working with dogs until she has completed proper customer interaction classes and dog care.
