The Mutt Hutt has been such a great help to me over the past 2 years! They have helped me out in so many last minute jams or else I would have come home to very sad dogs and smelly house. I have 2 large breed high energy dogs and they get walked five days a week. Thank god for the people who walk them because when I come home my pooches are worn out and are much easier to walk int he evenings and are much calmer for the rest of the night. I was hesitant about using a dog walker for many reasons, 1 being that I thought my dogs were out of control but since using Melissa's, they been taught to sit, give paw and go to their beds when someone comes to the door. AMAZING! I was also worried that my dogs would cause serious behavioral problems with the other dogs but the Mutt Hutt, unlike MANY other dog walking services, only walks my two dogs. I am just more comfortable knowing that my pups are getting all the attention they need and can be focused on. I read another review on here about having different people in the home, while I am on my 3 walker in 2 years, I know Melissa has a very thorough hiring process and have never felt uncomfortable having someone new pet sit or walk. I had a private person for awhile but I just didn't feel okay with them. Mutt Hutt has insurance, comes from a trusted company and my dog walker has a boss. Along with my walkers complete love for my pooches, I just feel much more comfortable knowing that my dogs are getting the attention and exercise they deserve from an awesome company! I have been on staff as a dog walker and pet sitter for Melissa's Mutt Hutt for a year now. I love being a part of Melissa's team. I feel so passionate about making sure that dogs are well taken care of, and I especially love taking dogs on walks. I know how important it is for dogs to get their exercise and I make sure they get plenty of it! I treat all the dogs I care for as if they were mine... lots of love & kisses! Melissa and her staff of Mutt Hutters are amazing! What first sold me on hiring her group was their knowledge and genuine concern for my puppy. During my first assessment visit with Melissa I could tell she had been taking care of dogs for a long time and genuinely cared for their well being. She eased all of my concerns and even made suggestions to help crate train my puppy. Her Mutt Hutters have been wonderful as well. My roommate has been home during one of their visits and had a chance to see a Mutt Hutter playing with both of our dogs. I heard nothing but compliments on how attentive and loving the Mutt Hutter seemed to be with our dogs. They leave notes in a journal every day so you know they have been to your house and each message has a little description of how your dog acted during their visit. You can definitely find cheaper dog walkers but for the care and attention that comes with Melissa's service I'm willing to pay a litle more. I can honestly say there is nothing more valuable then piece of mind when it comes to having someone take care of your dog! What really has sold me on working with her business for a long time is her ability to work with my schedule as well as her concern for my puppy. I had a last minute trip come up and called her hoping to find a way to have one of her Mutt Hutters overnight sit my puppy. She said without a doubt she would get someone or she would do it herself because she didn't want me to have to miss my trip. I can't express how relieved I was to have one of her staff coming to dog sit over having to miss my trip or to take my puppy to a gross kennel. Melissa and her team at the Mutt Hutt are truly amazing people and have taken the utmost care of my bulldog since we moved to the South Bay area. Melissa and her team are not only dependable and trustworthy, but they have also taken a genuine interest in the health and happiness of my dear Beatrice. We feel completely comfortable giving Melissa and her Mutt Hutters access to our home, and come home to find the sweetest notes about what "B" was up to while we were away. I especially like that the Mutt Hutt does only individual walks. Having lived in NYC for years, it was all too common to see a walker with at least a few dogs in tow, which always made me nervous. The individual attention is not only great for the dog, but also keeps my mind at ease that no issues are going to arise between B and another dog in the pack. It means that the Mutt Hutt walks are a little more expensive than some of the other, mass walking services, but well worth it in my opinion. My sweet bulldog had a medical emergency in the middle of the night a few months ago, and Melissa was incredibly helpful not only with what to do (we didn't have a local vet at the time, so I called her first), but also in directing us to the nearest (and most reputable) emergency hospital in the area. She also was kind enough to come to our home the next day to personally check-in on B and send me reports on her behavior as I had to go back to work the next day. I've been very happy with the service and would be happy to recommend the Mutt Hutt to anyone in the area. Our experience has been truly wonderful, and I cannot say enough good things about the company. Melissa and her staff clearly love what they do. I used Melissa's dog walking services for all out two months. I prepaid for both months. She was unable to provide the service to my dogs the last five days and I still have not received my refund. First she said it would be refunded to my credit card, then after I had to track her down, she said she had mailed a refund check to me. Have not received eived that. DON'T USE HER SERVICES. We've been using their private dog walking service since we got our corgi puppy (now two!) and we have watched them grow up to be happy, healthy, and confident dogs. Bottom line, Mutt Hutt has changed my life. Melissa's professionalism, warmth, and great attention to detail has been wonderful. Coming home to read those notes brightens my day. :) And overall it adds to Marty's quality of life to have great one on one care. I was disappointed as I learned after my vacation that my dog had been anxious during his stay with one of Melissa's associates. After a full discussion with Melissa, I am revising my review to clarify that. besides me not getting the real time information about my dog's anxiety so I could perhaps address it, Melissa and her associate did everything and more to make his stay a pleasant one and her intent in not mentioning it while I was gone was honestly not to bother/worry me while I was vacationing. I first hired Melissa's Mutt Hutt after I had surgery and couldn't walk my dogs. But I am now fully recovered and still have the greatest walker (Vivian) take my two babies for a daily walk. My Dogs love their walker, watching them do the excited dance when she arrives and the love they give her and she gives them is priceless. My 100 pound baby boy waits by the door everyday for Vivian to come.
