We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Lauren. She is great for all clients who are in various stages of parenthood (first-time moms, parents who have kids, etc...). This was our first baby and we loved how thorough she was with every detail when preparing us for birth. We created a birth plan, but also went over all possible birthing scenarios to be fully prepared in the event that our plan goes out the window. Very thankful for this because that is exactly what happened to us. Because Lauren prepared us so well, we were able to make quick decisions regarding alternative plans and ended up having a positive experience and a healthy baby boy! Her support spans past the birth and into the postpartum phase to make sure the mother is healing physically/mentally and the baby is adjusting to earthside life and feeding (breast or bottle). I highly recommend Lauren's doula services to any expecting couple. We hired Lauren before Covid 19 started so she could be with us as we labored and delivered at Kaiser. I wasn't thrilled with the medical care I was getting at Kaiser - I'm still not - and that made me want a doula on board that could facilitate informed consent and advocate for me as needed. When Covid struck and it became clear we wouldn't be allowed to have Lauren present at the hospital birth I was really disappointed. With that said, I'm so glad we had her on board. When my water broke at 2:40am several weeks ago, I called her, she answered right away and was at our condo in no time to labor with us until 5:30am when my contractions were regular enough that I needed to go to the hospital. She literally came to the hospital parking lot with us to say goodbye, which was obviously hard for her to do bc she is so passionate about supporting her clients! During my pregnancy she was SO readily available to support us in any way needed. I could go on an on, but I'll finish by saying having her come over again a week after my child was born for a postpartum visit & to process the birth was really special. I didn't have the best experience at the hospital - and the OB who delivered my baby was awful to me - so to unpack that event with someone so familiar with my pregnancy and birth journey was very healing. I had such a great experience with Lauren! I had never heard of yoni steam before but became quickly educated and very intrigued via their Instagram! Lauren went through a pre-steam questionnaire during my first visit which needs to be done before the first time you steam and it was very professional and made me feel comfortable proceeding with the steam.
