I went here with my family the other day and we ordered the pretzel bites and a large pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni. The bites were good, but they were by no means pretzels, more like pizza crust. But none the less still delicious. The beer cheese was incredibly good. We would definitely order this appetizer again and it was plenty for 4 people to share. The pizza was delicious as well. My family really enjoyed it. The food made up for the long wait time and meh service. I would definitely say do not go here if you are in a hurry. The wait for a table wasn't long, but the wait from the point of ordering until we received any food was quite a while. I've been wanting to try Mellow Mushroom for years when I lived in Atlanta, but always found the price a little high, especially when you have a picky eater in the house. After driving past MM for the past few weeks, I finally decided to go for it and ordered a large Holy Shiitake Pie with steak and classic crust. WORTH EVERY PENNY FOLKS. The ingredients were fresh, the flavors were amazing, and I can now see why MM is able to ask their price point. $32 and some change is not an every day pizza, but the splurge and leftovers were well worth it. Nice establishment, nice staff, took slightly longer than the 20 minutes I was told but was fresh out the oven when presented to me. For some reason, my pizza was not cut for me. So my 8 slice large easily became a 10 slice, no problem. Funny thing is that they open the box for you in store for your review and the lighting was so dimmed (or I was so famished) I did not even realize it until I got home. This is the only reason I'm giving MM 4 stars. Will definitely go back, perhaps to visit the bar and dine in. read more

I haven't had Mellow Mushroom pizza in years, but always remember it being great. Not so much anymore. The pizza was pretty tasteless, with very sparse toppings. The large mushroom pizza we ordered had less than 10 pieces of mushroom on it. Their pesto cheese bread was very good though! Good service. read more

I just left and waited 15 minutes to be seated, then no one came to take our order. We were just ignored. Tried to get hosts attention, he couldn't get anyone to help us. Our waitress, who walked by my many times, never acknowledged us. That's one thing I don't tolerate. All you have to do is is say, "be with you in a minute" or some type of acknowledgment. We went here after a long day of exploring the Hilton head island. We hadn't eaten all day so we were starving!! Obviously we were craving fatty foods and this place hit our spot. I love that they're pizza crust are flavored all the way to the edge with Parmesan cheese and garlic. The crust was soooo soft. They have a huge menu with so many different kinds of pizza toppings. I really want to go try more!! Love love love how it's so volumy and you will not be disappointed! The size small will be enough for you since each piece is humongous. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza to go and it easily served 4 of us. This may have to do with the fact I had eaten 3 hrs earlier, and two of the eaters were women...but that was nevertheless impressive! I thought the pizza was excellent...the crust was sprinkled with seasoned cheese shavings; this was a great touch. Overall, a good pizza and beer experience. My 2 times I ate there, I ordered large pizzas with my preference of toppings, which is pineapple and pepperoni (spice and sweet, just wish I could get the pineapple not cooked, however, I did not ask for it that way, next time)) and a mushroom, sausage, pepperoni with extra cheese. Both really hit the spot at a good price point. The service was pretty good, the young servers are much better than in Wild Wing and tried their best to handle all of their tables, I was there on a busy Sunday evening. What I did find to be really super, was the bartender, whom I ordered my Ranger beer from, as I was awaiting a table, saw my glass was empty, came from behind the bar to serve me. WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, thank you darling! I have been at the location in Mt. Pleasant , S.C. and it is good as well, but my one gripe is the dough usually is under done to my taste, I want crisp and crunch. read more

Came here with a large group so I expected so issues but not as much as we experienced. First we reserved and called ahead a week ago and when we arrived they were not ready at all. We still waited for our table for over 20min. We requested two high chairs and another party who came in after us got all the high chairs. We were offered booster seats but one child was under the age of 1 and definitely can't sit in a booster seat. We had to sit holding the baby for about 5min until high chairs were brought from another restaurant. Drinks took forever to come, some were forgotten and some where brought with pizza sauce in the water. Waitress was no apologetic and was seen delivering new drinks to other tables before coming back to bring the new drink. We asked 3 times for kids menus until we finally gave up and went up and got them ourselves. At one point a lady came over asking if we put the chairs in front of the exit door by our table. We didn't place any of the chairs there and she acted as if it was our responsibility to move the chairs. It's not our fault the door was blocked nor is it our job as a customer to move the chairs. I probably will never come back to this restaurant as I was not pleased with the service at all. Way too hot, loud and rude. read more

Easily my favorite place in Bluffton! Every time we come we end up having Gabby as a server and she is awesome!! Always on top of things, and willing to help you with whatever you want! She rates 5 stars just on her own I think we've pretty much tried everything on the menu, but I had to pick, I would say the soft pretzels with butter and salt, the meatball sandwich and the BBQ chips are a super safe bet. Just came from Mellow Mushroom in Bluffton, SC where I picked up a Tempe Hoagie on French. I have to say it was the worst takeout I have ever had. The fixings were sparse; the tempe was very burned; there was no sauteed onion or green pepper; the oil in which it was cooked tasted as it it had turned; and the lettuce was limp and soggy. I have had the same dish at the Mellow Mushroom on the south side of the island on multiple occasions, and it was wonderful. I will not go back to the Mellow Mushroom in Bluffton. Cannot get the awful taste of it out of my mouth. read more

The food was quick and wait staff was great. I liked they had a good assortment of beers on tap. Pizza was awesome and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. I only have 4 stars because I drank a huge beer only to find out the bathroom was out of order, men's bathroom was supposed to be "shared" and the toilet was a mess. I wouldn't have drank beer knowing the bathroom situation was like that. I also tried to buy a T-shirt and it was a hassle, staff ended up talking me out of it?? Boy friend and I ate at the Mellow Mushroom last Saturday; we have been wanting to try this place after a friend suggested it. We were not disappointed. Great Place. Very attentive service. We were greeted and seated right when we walked in the door. Drink orders were taken within minutes. We ordered a pizza for dinner. Excellent!!!!! Manager on duty stopped by the table to make sure we had everything we needed. All staff was well groom and friendly. CLEAN RESTROOMS....THATS ALWAYS A PLUS!!!!!! One of my must stops when visiting Hilton Head. Love the white pizza. Have had the meat lovers too... great. The draft beers are top of the line and change often.
