We went for a quick bite after tennis practice, sat at bar, ordered a beer, 9oz glass of wine, a medium pizza and small salad. Trivia was going on and everything was good. But, when we got the bill we were charged $18.00 for the glass of house wine. The bartender confirmed this. Not at all happy with this and it certainly will take this into consideration when going out again. Rip off!! read more

Very average, lotsa unnecessary dough. odd presentations with sauce-y things in a circle. Very weird look for a pizza. I see them but never had one that came that way. We arrived and the waitress please said find a seat the place is a mess .We sat and she dropped menus and came back about 15 minutes later. She took our order. The meatball trio came and it was cold but waitress no where too be found.Then our pizza came and that was barely warm.Once again the waitress never checked back .She did finally show up with a box and the bill while my wife was still eating. I would have liked dessert and another drink but she never asked and the restaurant was not busy so I did not understand why this was happening.We paid the bill and left.I surprised my wife by taking her there and the only thing they did was ruin the surprise,needless to say I will never go back there. read more

Tabetha dies a great job. She is smart? Quick , awesome , wonderful. This is only place to eat so late,,? Possibly I crossed Domino's ..not sure.. most places in Bluffton , Okatie are closed even though Hilton ahead is voted # 1... this was 7 miles from the hotel. Yelp gives a free Pretzel when you check in since Android app doesn't help to take those pictures including photographs selected. Mellow Mushroom is delicious! The best pizza in town. Me and my boyfriend drove across the entire United States when we moved here; San Diego to Bluffton. The only restaurant still open when we arrived was Mellow Mushroom. Though it felt so surreal; the climate was so different and I heard all the bugs in the air, the pizza was a great welcoming to the area! The absolute best I have ever had. It immediately became are go-to location for pizza. Recently, my mom came to visit and I wanted her to try MM before she left. They accidentally got my toppings wrong, but it didn't matter. Taste was impeccable. We enjoyed the crust the most. If in the area and a pizza lover, this is a good spot to try. read more

Coming from the pizza capital of the U.S., I was concerned about finding good pizza in Lowcountry. Fortunately I have 2 great venues within 1 miles of my new home which come very close. Mellow Mushroom is a chain and also an Untappd venue. Many great craft beers on draught. With a Yelp check-in, we received a free pretzel bites. These aren't really pretzels, but more similar to pizza dough served with pizza sauce and beer cheese on the side. The beer cheese was really good. My wife and I split a half mushroom, half onion medium pie. Great flavor crust, nice and cheesy with plenty of fresh toppings. Our waitress was very good. Very good happy hour specials. If I recall, the beer happy hour lasts until 7 while the food specials are until 6 pm. read more

It's been such a while since I've had Mellow Mushroom. I've eaten here a few times and have enjoyed my visits. This previous time I had the Lil Greek salad and turned the Magical Mystery pizza into a calzone. Food was delicious and service was good. They are not open until 11:00 as stated here. They close at 9:00 and quit seating people before that. 'Turns out, Blufton basically shutters at 9:00 Isn't this a tourist area?? This is our first time here. Very tasty looking items on the menu, if we could have, would have tried everything. I only ordered the soup and salad, and my daughter had the kids French pizza bread and broccoli. For dessert we had the regular sundae. Everything was delicious. Literally threw our food in the garage! What a waste of time and money on a takeout order. Ordered wings, ritz burger, summer special salad add chicken, and a cookie. The wings were undercooked and soggy, the burger was sitting in grease with the wilted toppings, they left off the chicken on the salad and the cookie was stale and hard. Too many good restaurants in Bluffton/HHI to waste your time and money here. read more

I use to own a home by this restaurant and would frequent the place. Gluten Free Pizza is awesome. As is everything else. People complain about the pricing, but I cook GF at home and all the ingredients cost more, I believe there is one in the Cleveland area we went to as well. Anyhow, the restaurants are clean, staff is polite, they'll have fun game nights, and the GF is very tasty. read more

The best....THE BEST place for vegan pizza anywhere on the East Coast. That said, this location gets an AAAAA+. Went in two days ago and got two vegan pies. Killer flavor and perfectly cooked. The waiter was so kind with our needs and four kids. He even gave us our last drink in a to-go cup. Beyond friendly very clean, and delicious pizza. Oh, the bruschetta is great as well. We loved the funky atmosphere here and the food was great. We started out with the Trio of Meatball appetizer. It was served with loads of extra sauce for dipping and each meatball was sliced in half and skewered with a piece of cheese in between. It was really tasty, although could have been more hot. We then ordered a medium sausage and green pepper pizza. The pizza came out all crisp and hot and oozy with cheese. Perfect! The crust was awesome, although maybe a little too much Parmesan cheese. I've had almost the entire menu over the years, but my favorite is the simple sliced turkey, with lettuce, tomato (which I opt out of sometimes just because I'm not a huge tomato on a sandwich guy, unless it's an actual tomato sandwich...), onion, and then I ask to add their garlic mayo and banana peppers, and sometimes jalapeños. Their turkey club is a second favorite if I'm craving bacon on my sandwich (they also have a jalapeño bacon!). Their other deli sandwiches are great, like the original with a mix of luncheon and other deli meats. I love their lesser known meatball sandwich and cheeseburger. My wife's favorite is the pastrami. The staff at Alvin Ord's are some of the nicest folks I've met in the restaurant industry, and they're always super helpful to new and old customers alike. According to FDA laws for South Carolina, it would be illegal to have the bread label and how you prepare it without having a proper ingredient list; According to FDA they require you to have a ingredient labels on all the items that you're selling; I asked to the brunette girl at the counter she literally just told me she has no idea and she doesn't know how to find out the information so I will probably not come back to Nantucket meat and Fish market. I always expect more out of the food when I go into a Mellow Mushroom. It's honestly just really pricey pizza with weird combinations of toppings, bland (but expensive) salads and a wide selection of beers that are never far off from the selection at the local grocer. Hi Everyone,…read more Alright, alright, alright! Many of our pizza wants and desires have been fulfilled. We have a New Jersey Pizza joint that is serving up the real deal, here in our beloved, Low Country. That's right, Sports fans! So we decided on a cheese pizza because if you can't the base right, the toppings certainly don't matter. Their crust is the fantastic, authentic, and as good as it gets in the middle of the pie. They are so close to the real deal you will almost hardly notice that our Pizza maker needs to depress his dough edges between his fingers all the way around the entire pizza so he can flatten those edges enabling them to extend the pizza sauce and cheese all the way around the pizza before he stretches out the dough and flips it, in their very tastebud pleasing 18" pie. But the above, is the only difference in our opinion, between a real Jersey Pie, (pun intended), and Jersey Pie's pizza. The cheese to pizza sauce ratio is extremely well balanced which enhances their crisp, thin crust and its enticing pizza texture. Oddly, their pizza is not dripping with olive oil so the tip end of the thin Jersey crust bends when you pick it up to eat it, which frankly made it better tasting. This pizza is great hot or cold which is one of the true detailed tests for a Jersey style pie. Cold pizza for breakfast is a moderately heathy meal but without a savory taste, why bother. How do I know? Because when I was fifteen years old I was a pizza maker for Joe Mack (a Pizza Master) who, with his Brothers owned Mack's Pizza's four locations on the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ, where I grew up. Joe taught me and all his "Pizza Makers" how to make a perfect pizza pie. So yea, I know a little a little bit about making a great pizza. Their server Payton is very friendly, smiles delightfully, is efficient, and respectful, so their service is wonderful. The ambiance is Pizza Joint Modern, ya know, kinda like neighborhood restaurant where you go to eat great food, have a drink (when they get their liquor license. That's right, they are that new but is it's coming quickly), relax with good friends while discussing your heart felt feelings, who your upset with in your Family, events in your day, or sports but never politics or religion. I mean you don't want to die in a pizza joint. So we want to recommend to you and yours that you stop by and give Jersey Pie a try. Because I can guarantee, you have not tasted this pizza in The Low Country before. Enjoy!
