There are rumors that the owner is off and rude. Unfortunately, they are true. The place is never open so it's difficult to even get a chance to try this place. The entire inside has been closed down since Covid and the owner now speaks through a window with outside seating. Which is okay, I walked up to the empty place after taking my dogs on a walk. It clearly states no dogs inside but the outside is on a sidewalk, but he still said no dogs. Unfortunately, I had no place to leave them so I just left. The experience was completely off, he whispered instead of speaking up... idk. I won't be going back. read more

I ordered a calzone. It was horrible. It doesn't even remotely compare it to a calzone made in New York State. They didn't even use mozzarella or ricotta cheese. I think they ended up using Mexican cheese to fill the calzone. read more

A little pricier then I'm used to, but totally worth every penny!!! You walk up to the window to order and can eat outside at the tables! The pizza was the perfect ration of dough to sauce and cheese with FRESH toppings. So delicious, my 6 year old son NEVER eats the crust and he devoured this. Eating 2.5 slices. Love their pizza. I grew up in the NYC metro area and really missed the tangy cheese and thin crust NY pizza is known for. These folks do a good job of bringing that to Paris Avenue in Port Royal. Give them a try if that type of pizza is your jam. read more

We went today, hoping to enjoy a New York style pizza. But you are not allowed to eat inside, they want you outside in the scorching heat, you also have no access to bathroom because the place is completely locked up. If you want to order, you have to order through a little microphone, they don't even open the window and talk to you face-to-face. We never felt welcome, she made us wait at the window about three minutes before even coming. This was our first time ordering from old school pizzeria. unfortunately the pizza was well below expectations :-(. Crust underneath the pizza itself was still cool and gooey while the upper crust was cooked but burnt around the edges. plenty of toppings but somehow they forgot to put any cheese on my pizza... When I first arrived at Beaufort 3 years ago, I was very happy to find this pizza restaurant. Their pizza was really good. Lately, it's been hit and miss. Incorrect orders are becoming more frequent. The last pizza was uncut. The salads were incorrect. The most disappointing part is that lately, the owners seem to be unhappy every time I've gone the last few months. Seriously, we have gotten used to some of the unattractive aspects of dining in the low country - slow service, inconsistent execution and quality of food, and most importantly confusion about hours of operation. I'm assuming the owners don't need this business to survive. In the past month every time we came to get a slice, they were closed. It didn't matter if it was a Saturday, a Wednesday, a Friday or a Tuesday. They advertised that they were open and when we would get there it would be dark and locked up. No business should be able to operate unless they can guarantee that what they advertise is true. It frankly makes no sense to me - it's bad business practice, a bad reflection on the town of Port Royal for not enforcing some sort of policy against this kind of activity, and bad for any locals and visitors who want to try this place, only to find it closed most of the time when they advertise that they are open. When we finally got our slices the other day, they weren't even good. You guys lost dedicated customers. And I'm sure you could care less. read more

One of the top pizza places in Beaufort. 1000 percent better than the one down the street. They make it here by scratch. Sauce and the dough. And use REAL Oven on stone. The basic requirements for great ... Real authentic pizza. They sell by the slice. This place makes it good enough for any New Yorker.. or Italian. The negative part. Their hours are pretty much when they feel like it. If they run out of slices you ruin your diet and need to eat a whole pizza by yourself. read more

Amazing! The pizza was delicious! We walked the nature preserve while it was being freshly prepared. It was hot, fresh, delicious, and made exactly as ordered! The owner realized we were planning to eat on their patio and supplied is with a bag of (disposable) silverware, plates, and napkins! As with any delicious NY style pizza napkins were a must! Warm soft bread and gooey cheese is what makes the Philly Cheese steak at Old School Pizzeria so stinkin' good. Stopped in today to grab a sub, because it's just been too long since I've had one of theirs. I got it to go, However I ended up eating it in the parking lot in my car before I even left. The smell just got to me. The secret to how good the sub is has to be the bread. It's just perfectly soft, but at the same time not too soft, if you got what I mean. I really like it here. It just is what it is... a pizzeria, and doesn't try to be anything else. It's run by a husband and wife team and they are great. My most positive comment after a recent take out veggie pizza is the crust is excellent. It's a bit thicker and chewier than a cracker crust, and it was cooked just right. The downside is there was no flavor to this pizza. The sauce was bland along with the cheese and the veggies. Yelp reviews can hurt a small business so I'll cut my comments short. The grumpy guy can either get his feelings hurt or he can eat a slice of his own pizza and make the necessary changes. I hope they choose to improve their product. I'll be back, guys. Worst customer service we've ever experienced from the owner. $77 for 3 pizzas and mozzarella sticks. We asked him a question and he became extremely defensive. Told us to go back to PA. We are new to the area and we are in the works on opening a NYC pizzeria that will close him down. We're New Yorkers that just moved here and his attitude and the way he spoke to us was mind blowing. He has no right serving this community with his lack of experience and how he treats his customers. Everyone keep an eye out for the most amazing NYC pizzeria coming to Beaufort. Found ourselves hungry after being at The Sands and chanced upon OSP. Ordered take out and waited outside at their tables for about 20 mins. Pizza was baked correctly and the flavors of the ingredients were all good (1/2 supreme & half pepperoni, onion, mushroom). They were out of sausage, tho. If you like small hole-in-the-wall places that serve AMAZING food this is your spot. A friend and I ate at this restaurant and we are definitely coming back. The pizza at this place is so yummy and delicious. I forgot to ask if the dough is fresh and not packaged because it sure does taste like it's made right there on location. We had tried the new pizza Tuscan Chicken and it did not disappoint. I also got a small side salad and it was just the right size with no skimping on the other ingredients like tomatoes and cucumbers. They do have soda but it's in a can and not fountain so no refills. I'm eating this pizza right now for breakfast! This place is your typical small pizza joint. You can get subs and pizza any way you want. I checked Yelp for the nearest pizza place that was open and Old School Pizza popped up. I rarely eat pizza, and didn't want chain restaurant so I was looking for something with character. We ordered the hot Italian sub and a medium cheese pizza which set me back $29. The location is right off of Ribaut rd across from the Port Royal fire station. The restaurant is small and the pizza is delivered to your table. I asked the person behind the counter if they could leave my pizza in the oven a bit longer so it was crunchier, was very grateful when the owner grabbed my pizza out of the box and placed it back in the oven. I wasn't expecting that at all. I love that type of service. read more
