Ordered online as I stayed @ nearby hotel. I walked over to pick up my pizza. The dining room must have been slammed as the tables had lots of trash underneath them. It was a bit unappealing to see. I walked to the back counter & my pizza was ready. The young lady did make sure my sauces were there & completed my order. The pizza was hot when I got it back to my room. It was really good. I accidentally ordered double cheese on the online order. Wish you could order slices. The online order process took a little extra time as I tried to remove items. Overall good pizza. Went to this location and had a custom/build your own vegan pizza (portobello, peppers, and black olives). Could have used more mushrooms! But it was tasty. Very glad our server pointed out that some mushrooms were cooked in butter (good warning!) and made a note to keep butter and Parmesan off the crust (another plus). I love their pizza! And I love the atmosphere - especially the outdoor seating. But they close the majority of the outdoor seating sometime before 5:30 and struggle with a clear explanation for why. It is related to the fact that a cigar bar is open nearby. Server was great, and it is a nice place for a pie. read more

We always loving going here at least once while in Huntsville. It's a chill atmosphere in which you can good beer, a great pizza , and super fresh salad. It's looks like it's a partial wheat but still taste like a regular crust . Mellow mushroom, or just "mellow" as my husband and I fondly call it, is often hit or miss. Usually hit, but this time a definite miss. Tonight's problem started with my order. I ordered to-go in store. The waiter told me to go wait in the bar and they'd bring it out. I don't mind waiting at their bar, the have a pretty darn good house margarita. Well, I finished my margarita and waited. And waited. The bartender finally went to see if my order was ready and it was. And judging by its temperature, it had been ready for quite awhile. I got my not so hot pizza home and took a slice. We wavered from our usual Holy Shitaki and opted for their Kosmic Karma instead. It was a basic cheese pizza topped with spinach, roasted tomatoes, Roma tomatoes and feta cheese then swirled with pesto. The swirl is usually an enhancement to the mix of flavors but tonight the pesto was so thick that it completely overpowered everything else. We usually eat two slices each but the pesto was so completely overwhelming that we ate only one slice. It took us too more lunches to finish a 6 slice pie. I also ordered a half order of pretzels. Since the pretzel box was on top of the pizza box, they were almost room temp when I finally got them. By the time I got them home, they were much more chewy than they should have been. Another disappointment We were three for three tonight. I ordered bruschetta to go along with our meal. The tomato mixture was delicious but we only received four small slices of crostini - definitely not enough to scoop up the toppings. We ended up using the pretzels to finish the tomatoes. We usually have a good meal and a great pizza when we visit mellow. That's why I gave them 4 stars instead of the 2 tonight deserved. I'm glad that I know what to expect because if I didn't, after tonight's meal, I wouldn't be back. read more

I didn't realize this Mellow Mushroom opened way back in 2009. It's been here a while ya'll. I recommend its happy hour. I have always sat at the bar and had good service. Even though the bar is beer centric, they still offer some decently good white wines by both the glass and bottle. The bar is fairly small and seems to have several regulars. Although my husband loves pizza, I don't really care for it and I don't believe I've tried MM's pizza. I do recall enjoying their Greek salad which was generously topped with feta [YUM!], their meatball app., and their pretzel bites. My friend and I split a half half pizza and we each got a salad. I started with the spinach salad. There were so many dried cherries! It also had feta cheese and candied pecans. I got it with the pomegranate açaí dressing per the menu recommendation. My friend got the house side salad. She liked it. It was really good!! Then, for my half of a small pizza (2 slices), I got the cheese pizza with triple mushrooms. It was yummy! The mushrooms had a lot of flavor. I liked the red sauce too. The crust was crunchy yet thick. I wish they served it with a sharp knife versus a dull butter knife. And I would have liked more pizza versus the very wide crust. But overall really good. So I decided to eat outside tonight. I sat down, they brought my menu, then all of a sudden a baby sparrow dropped out of the tree onto my menu! Woah. So I moved him to another table. He kept everyone on the patio entertained. I got a Greek salad and Wild in Havana pizza. I wasn't impressed with the pizza. The flavor was a little sweet and the pickles gave it a funky taste. Oh how I love Mellow Mushroom. First let me start off by saying that our waiter was awesome. Very attentive as well as the other staff. I went to Mellow Mushroom on a semi warm day so I opted to sit in, however, I've been previously and it was nice to sit outside. I ordered the Steakhouse pizza, it's recently added and recommended by my waiter. I give it a 10/10. The flavor was powerful but well balanced. The Steakhouse pizza has a olive oil and garlic base, topped with all natural ribeye steak, roasted shiitake, button and portobello mushrooms, creamy mozzarella, caramelized onions, tangy peppers, then finished with chives and a garlic aioli drizzle. YUM! If you're looking for a pizza that has bold and rich flavors, head to Mellow Mushroom and order the Steakhouse pizza. You won't regret it! read more

Ordered multiple pizzas and sat outside. Pizzas were all good but do have a thicker crust. We were the only table outside so the service was a little spotty but not so much as to downgrade it overall. Cheese dripping off the pan, toppings piled to the sky, pizza. This place is always packed on weekends and at night so expect to wait 25-45 minutes. The wait is always worth it though. What a freaking surprisingly delicious meal and experience I had in Mellow Mushroom. I've been to MM before (in TN) but there's something about this HSV location that makes me want to return. Food: Everything was delicious. The root beer on tap was damned good. The pretzels with beer cheese were so soft and warm, and stayed soft even after they'd gotten cold. The bruschetta was fresh and had a nice balsamic drizzle on top. The side salads were a decent size and the bowls were unique and cute (neither here nor there, but I wanted to mention it anyway). The pizzas were both delicious. They really know how to treat dough here. Pillowy-soft and fluffy. I rarely eat the crust on pizza but I ate this crust. I actually usually get thin crust because I like more toppings than bread, but this crust is to good I'd get regular crust again. The toppings on the Mighty Meaty are really piled on. Every slice of pizza I picked up had toppings spilling over onto my plate (dessert hehe). Customer Service: Greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in! Our server was wonderful, cheery and very accommodating (but didn't hound us). She happily fixed a couple of snafus that we had with our order and got an item comped from our ticket for our trouble). The manager came over to say hi to us and actually sat down and talked with us. Great, great, great customer service! The quantity of ingredients could be doubled for the Sausagefest calzone. The order of pretzel bites was huge and could be an appetizer for 3 or 4 people.
