The decor has not been updated in a very long time. The server was very nice and efficient. When we came in he handed us menus and we sat ourselves. My family loves Village Pizza! Their health score is always high (97 on this visit) and the staff are among the most friendly you will meet. They are open, the food is fresh and warm, they have a clean place for you to sit down and eat (or you can take it to go) and they are LOCAL! If so was comparing their pizza to something gourmet it wouldn't be fair, and if I was trying to talk about their atmosphere it would suffer. This place could be a three star place to many of you. For me and mine, it is five because it is LOCAL, good, and preferred on that merit. I did almost take away one star because they serve that Pepsi stuff I steal of Coke. ;) There are two "Village Pizzas" in Athens...but they are not the same. There was a partnership once a long time ago, but it only lasted a little longer than a year. This Village Pizza on East Limestone is our favorite, and they have been around for about 15 years as of 2022. The other unrelated Village Pizza is on the square in Athens. Charged me 40 bucks for pizza and wings...sent us the wrong order and admitted when I called and said it was on the counter right in front of them. They wouldn't deliver it to us and they won't refund my money. So they are 40 dollars richer but literally screwed up an entire Friday night of orders and nobody got the right order and they won't correct their mistake in any way. They yelled at me and hung up on me. Goodbye village pizza...you will get no more money from us and I will tell everyone I know about this horrible company. Shame on village pizza!!! read more

I liked this pizza place. Recently, not so much. When I walked in and saw a burnt pizza on the back counter I didn't think much of it. So I really like this place. My family and I have been coming here since 1999. It's homey, divey, dark, and delicious. They offer options for dine-in, carry-out, and delivery with GrubSouth. My only complaint is that they desperately need more seating both for those eating and for those waiting to be seated. I would warn those who are wanting to dine in that I will probably be a long wait. Bring an Ipad and charger for the kids. The pizza is off the chain. Love their hand tossed crust. Stopped in here on Saturday afternoon to grab a bite to eat since we were craving pizza after being turned away at the DMV office there in Athens and I'm glad we stopped here! The atmosphere is warm/inviting. Love all the kitsch in the decor, and the hardwood flooring in the building. Staff was friendly, portion sizes are spot on, and the quality/flavor of the salads/pizza/cheesybread is definitely worth coming in for. We use to love this place but it is the second time we have given them a chance and still was disappointing. We asked for a large pepperoni pizza with light sauce. Maybe one of the better pizza places I have been to in North Alabama. I actually found this place from Yelp one night when me and my girlfriend got hungry and wanted some food. Upon walking in I could tell the place was older but smelled really good. It was a hot summer day and they had the AC on cold but was nice. When we told the waitress it our first time and she had given us free break sticks and there good. The pizza itself was really good. I had forgotten what I had gotten exactly but it was really good and for the price for the food was really well. I will be back in the future. read more

On my most recent order, I had quite a large order and the employee who answered the phone seemed less than thrilled that I had a larger order and made it abundantly clear that he was irritated that he was going to have to make it. This is some solid pizza. The grandparents come here frequently, so it's where we dined after Christmas, craving anything that wasn't a pie, cookie, or spiced nut. The breadsticks are little twists of pizza dough that come with sides of marinara and garlic butter. They bake off really fast, so they're perfect for a pre-dinner snack while you wait for your pizza to bake. The house garden salads are only $2.99, but with only mandarin oranges and carrots for adornment, the greens leave you wanting a little more. The pizza is the kind with the thick, bread-like crust, and they load them up with toppings, so just two slices should fill even the hungriest eaters. The only downside I saw on the two pies I sampled was the apparently canned mushrooms. Everything else appeared fresh and tasted delicious. I'll surely be back when visiting Harvest. read more

Ordered Village for the first time in a few years tonight- got the Chicken Spinach Alfredo and an Aloha pizza. They were both incredible and hot even after driving back to Madison with them. My wife and I have been slowly moving toward Harvest since we moved to Huntsville, and now that we actually live in Harvest we decided to try to find good local restaurants with a mom and pop feel. We were greeted when we walked in, and our waitress was incredibly kind. We had to ask for pepper and once for refill, but overall she was really attentive. I'm glad I liked her because when I paid with debit I had to tell her aloud how much to add for a tip, so be ready for that awkward moment if you had bad service and only a debit card in your wallet! The food was good. We ordered the cheese sticks, which were decent, but they didn't come much before our pizza. The marinara was fearful and we enjoyed it. We got the medium spinach chicken alfredo pizza, which was good and colorful. The onions weren't diced and didn't have the over-powering flavor others often have. I managed to grab a cookie for dessert, and it was also good. The price was proportionate to the quality and quantity, which lands this easily on our to-return list! read more

Best pizza around. I never would have known about VP if not for a girl I work with who is from this area. From the outside it looks a little scary, but inside it's a perfectly clean, inviting, family owned pizzeria where you can take the kids for some GREAT pizza! We get the Super Special pizza and some wings. It's basically an everything pizza, but not like any you've ever tasted. The crust is not too thick, not too thin, a little crispy, yet soft inside. I always take the goodies back to Madison County where I can enjoy my meal with a cold one. If you have the patience and can hold out till Monday, the wings are discounted to 60 cents per wing with a pizza order.
