Went on a slow Sunday. Placed order as soon as we sat down. Took over an hour to get pizza. Waitress was incredibly rude. Told the manager, Mike, he said that he would not charge us for the pizza. Got the bill and the pizza was still on there. Just a terrible experience. Don't say your going to take off the cost of the pizza because of poor service and not do it. Server was great! We ate outside, the major exception was we ordered our pizza, fifteen minutes later the waitress came out and informed us that pizzas take 45 minuets to an hour to cook. We received our pizza 53 minuets later. The pizza was lackluster. The additional wait staff who were delivering food kept trying to give us other tables food and drinks. I know they are still very new, however they need a lot of work! I have visited other Mellow Mushrooms in other cities. The longest wait time for pizza has been 15 to 25 minuets max. I don't know if their kitchen staff know what is going on or not? Might revisit in a year, if they are still open? read more

The service was very good and the mushroom soup was excellent. The burger was not the best, dry and overly salty, but it's probably my fault for ordering a burger at a pizza place. The reason for my low rating is that they charged me $2.29 to substitute provolone for the Swiss that comes on the burger normally. I can understand an up charge if you add cheese, but to substitute one kind for another and charge that much seems unreasonable. Also when I asked if I could substitute the Swiss for a different kind they didn't mention that it would be additional. read more

The servers are always fun and entertaining, along with amazing at their jobs on keeping tables clean, running food, refilling drinks and beer, and keeping the atmosphere relaxed. Delicious pizza. Create your dream pizza here. Great atmosphere and service too. These are brick oven pizzas made to order so it takes a bit. But you can eat or share one if there build your own salads while you wait. Just don't go there in a hurry. We ordered a large house style pizza and asked for gluten free crust over the phone. The girl placing orders repeated our it back saying large gluten free pizza. When we went to pick it up it was a small pizza. She then said, "well it only comes in one size." We asked why we were not told that. She said that's just how it is. The manager then comes over and says he will make a large pizza for us. Meaning another fifteen minutes waiting. We stepped around the corner to wait for our pizza. As we wait we over here the girl talking to other servers about how it was our mistake and we were the idiots that ordered it. We let this go on for about five minutes as she kept talking about it. We then walked around the corner she saw us and immediately turned around and ran off. The other servers took off as well. The manager came over again and we explained what was going on and we wanted our money back and that they will never get our business again. Instead of the manager apologizing he said, "yea I don't blame ya." Only reason they get a star is because I have to. read more

i been here twice. i live in evansville so its a decent length drive so i dont get to come as much as i like to. this is probably one of the best pizza places i ever been to. the food i ate both times have been amazing. i had a medium cheese pizza and some appetizers the first time, and the 2nd time i had a small cheese pizza and an appetizer. both times the food has come out in a good time and cooked to perfection. the staff is always friendly and sits you to your seat very fast. it can get pricey if you're eating in a group and only getting 1 bill but i believe its worth it, tend of review. read more

Owensboro location: This place started out great and every time I've been since it's gotten progressively worse. Really slow service, pizzas take forever to come out, and quality is declining. I ordered the "stuffed portobella" for an app., and it came out totally flattened like it had been pressed inbetween two pans. Then some scant cheese was put on top. It was awful. Stuffed means there is an opening filled with "stuff." Pizza is okay. First couple times I went, it was great. Last 2-3 times have sucked. read more

We took our girls here for lunch before going to the park to get a slice of pizza. Each just one slice of pizza. The food was mediocre. Originally we wanted to go to Fetta but they were closed until 4. I would rate this better but our waitress was HORRIBLE! It took over an hour for two girls to get each a SLICE of pizza. When the waitress arrived to our table it was about fifteen minutes after we had sat down. When she came for our drink order I told her we would also like to order our food. She said no she can't do that and left. She then started to help another table which was a bigger party. After helping them she got their drinks first then came back with ours... she then said we could order and we did. From there she went back to the bigger party which ordered tons of food and we had two slices of pizza. She got their food out to them and we were waiting on ours for forty minutes. Ordered a beer for the VERY long wait to eat only to find 30 min later it's not available so we wait for appetizers and waiter recommended sampler of beer. This comes 15 min later with first appetizer(spinach and artichoke dip, cold but edible). So, I ordered one of the beers to go with the pizza. Well, second appetizer (pretzel bites which were stale but at least warm, think microwave) arrives 30 minutes later which was immediately followed by the arrival of pizzas Waiter now states beer is forthcoming... So, now we are finishing our pizza (it's been over 1:30hr) and the beer arrives along with many excuses. I politely listen to the rambling waiting to hear that at least the beer or appetizer would be gratis, but silence was deafening! Soooo, one star for the food, meh, and none for service! Love the food...service is typically outstanding. My only critique that is not totally positive is what I personally feel is a lack of some good libations on the beer menu. But, to be fair, that is my personal choice just I, am NOT a fan of Anheuser-Busch products and the"craft" beer menu, while extensive fails to carry my favorite product style routinely. Went to celebrate our mother's 70th birthday. Went 25 minutes early because of the reported slow service. Waited 20 minutes for a table and tried to place an appetizer and pizza order as soon as we sat down because of slow-service reviews. Waitress was overwhelmed and rather rude. Overlooked this and tried to put it aside. All appetizers, salads and the pizza trickled out of kitchen one at a time. After waiting over an hour for our pizza, the order was wrong. We told the waitress and she said management would remake the pizza. We were not able to wait any longer since 1st pizza took over an hour and two people at the table were diabetic. They took off $10.00 from the entire ticket for "messing up the pizza toppings". We can understand when things aren't perfect when celebrating a special occasion as long as we are treated with respect, kindness, and an alternative that is acceptable for all. This was NOT the case and we will be taking our business to th many other pizza locations in Owenensboro in the future. read more

I had a lunch experience that makes me want to not come back to this restaurant. We had ordered a simple lunch of salads and a side of meatballs. We received the salads after what i would expect to call a long time after the very light volume of traffic in the restaurant. We were waiting on the meatballs for the next 40 minutes. We commented that it has taken too long for the meatballs to arrive for our table. The manager comes over and snidely comments "I hear meatballs took a few minutes too long." No they took 40 minutes too long to arrive. The waitress had entered the order as an entree and salads as appetizers as we were informed. She said next time we will make sure she clarifies if this is an entree or an appetizer. Basically from the front of house manager's perspective it was our fault or we just did not wait long enough for food. I believe an hour and a half from beginning to the end of the final "Entrees" eaten on a lunch is normal. During this time until we complained we had not received the first drink refill. I know this restaurant will not be on my list to return for any business lunches or sometime that I would like prompt service. read more
