Lamb leg roast with vegetables and side of mint sauce

Lovely cosy restaurant. Came here for Sunday Roast via Groupon. It was easy to find, took bus 27 and there was a bus stop right in front of it. 391 gets you there as well. Food was decent. You get a good selection of lamb, beef, fish and chicken to choose from. Our meal came with cheese cauliflower and a glass of bubbles. The dessert was delightful as well. I like the ambience and atmosphere here. If you get in earlier around 12.30pm you might get a seat by the window. It's a decent place to bring a date and have brunch. Recommended for family gatherings as well. They've got enough place for kids too. The service is fast, staffs are friendly and attentive.

Fantastic selection and even better prices. Great knowledgeable staff. Great flights and individual drams.

    High Tea.

I'd never heard of St Paul's Hotel on Hammersmith Road, nor the great little restaurant inside. St Paul's Hotel is a smnall boutique near Olympia. It was previously St. Pauls school and the location of the historic meeting of Eisenhower, Montgomery and Winston Churchill to plan the D Day landings. The 'Melody Restaurant' is named after a 1971 British cult movie called 'Melody', which was also filmed here. I came here with a group of 20 friends on Saturday to enjoy the 'High Tea'. I'm not a fan of eating too many sandwiches or cakes, but the prospect of unlimited champagne for two hours certainly appealed. The setting is stunning and has a real British feelk to it, which helped greatly with the atmosphere. We had a private room to ourselves. The staff were efficient, friendly and polite and thankfully for us, did not hold back on the free flowwing champagne. We were given the usual crustless finger sandwiches you'd expect. The coronation chicken ones were escpecially nice. Again the plates were replenished once empty. The scones were fresh with plenty of cream and jam (I'm a cream then jam spreader person). On the to tier there was a large assortment of cakes and sponges. After we had finished, we retired to the courtyard to enjoy a drink as night drew in. All-in-all it was a great time and I would highly recommend the high tea here for any visitors coming to London

It was a Saturday night, party of 3 and we got seated almost immediately, the place was busy and that gave me a good sign that it would be a good place. The music was on the louder side but not enough to have me scream to my friends across the table, it was typical Indian, very enjoyable and catchy. Our waitress was really nice and she came to take our order in a timely matter. We ordered the Lamb, we had chicken, rice, garlic naan bread and a yogurt dish that I can't remember ... everything came in cute little plates and containers. The food didn't take long to come, they have a really big drink menu so lots to choose from, they do have a small section of non alcoholic drinks as well and this is always a small plus for me, my friends had beers and I had a melon mock-tail which was so refreshing and good. We were so hungry, we ate so fast and even ordered more rice. The food was amazing and the price was average of most Indian places in London. Really enjoyed this place, and it seems like it may become a regular for me!!

The walls are covered in an array of modern and ancient-inspired art; perhaps an ode to the times of hedonistic pleasure and plenty that the cocktail menu showcases as an inspiration for their cocktails. Speaking of the menu, you will find an almost-overwhelming amount of delicious cocktails with an interesting twist. I got the Seven Apples which is a light and fruity sparkling elixir that tastes strongly of cider. The cognac, Calvados VSOP, and Aquavit make this a much stronger concoction than your typical Apple cider, though. The service is top-notch, as one would expect from such an establishment, and the price will set you back about £30 per cocktail. In case that matters.

It's not what one would immediately think of for high tea unless they knew about it. We had the champagne tea service for 3 adults and a children's tea service. The service for the littles is absolutely adorable. It comes with a story of Albee thr monkey and they have souvenirs. We purchased the monkey because it was absolutely adorable. Each reservation allows for 1.5 hrs of unlimited sandwiches, scones, tea, and sweets. We partook in an additional serving of sandwiches. The standouts were the chicken salad, cucumber, and smoked salmon sandwiches. I enjoyed the scones tremendously- esp with lots of clotted cream. I enjoyed a spicy chai as well. This was the highlight of my trip to London. I will absolutely some back!

He gave excellent service,in this day it can be the rare exception to receive such so we were incredibly impressed and grateful to experience. We asked about Indian fare tips and he gave a great suggestion we took him up on. Our food (DELICIOUS) and cocktails (DIVINE) at Berners were once again enjoyed in one of if not the most stunning restaurants in London. Then at 8pm the music got turned up very loud (and also changed to more club-style music, not lounge). We asked the manager if he could set the music back at the normal volume - his immediate reaction was to ask sniffily "do you want to move upstairs". Apparently the decision has been made that Friday and Saturday nights are a "DJ experience" and not a restaurant experience. Servers acknowledge it's impossible to hear each other. Food was very good (we had the excellent tasting menu), servers were very good, but the manager made clear that anyone who wanted to have a non-shouting conversation over dinner was not welcome. (This is why when you look around the restaurant at 8:30 or 9pm it's a lot of couples looking around the restaurant and not talking to each other, obviously wondering "is this fun or have we been suckered?") We went with friends who have been to Shochu before and were excited to share it with us; this was for a mutual birthday night. They had never been on a Fri/Sat though. They ended up being pretty embarrassed for having recommended it as a place to go for a good weekend night out.

I couldn't see any mention of the shochu kanteen...so maybe they've given up on it?? The menu was exactly the same as Roka upstairs this time. Drinks: - The have some cocktails, a small list of shochu and some infused shochu, like ume-shu. We tried two of the shochus...I really liked mine (made from sweet potatoes, rather than barley) - However considering the bar is called "shochu lounge" I found it a bit weird that none of the staff could tell us anything about the (very short) list of shochu they had on their menu. I am not a shochu expert, but I know which areas I like...but none of the staff could even tell us which prefecture their shochu comes from! All they could tell us was that it comes from "south Japan..." So, we had to guess blindly. Food: The food was pretty expensive, with small portions but every bite was lovely. - The sashimi was divine. Especially the Hamachi and the ebi. The portions were very stingy (especially as the platter cost £30) but I couldn't fault them for the amazing fresh fish. - I liked their yakiniku. We tried the negima and asparagus skewers. - We ordered some mushroom rice to fill us up, and this was also really lovely. In the end, I think this would be a good place to bring someone on a first date, and the food was amazing (which is why I gave them 4 stars.) Having said that, they seemed to be trying slightly too hard to look cool... it was just a shame the staff didn't seem to know anything about the drinks they serve.
