Totally rude. I asked a question about them if they could use my soft rag on my interior for the dash. My car was brand new two months old the last time I had it there. They must have used the same rags they used on my exterior. The badly scratched my leather dash. I never called and complained, they usually have done a good job in the past. The guy that was checking me in said, he did not want to do my interior, and no they coul not,nor would they use the cloth that I have for my interior only. He then just walked away and said, I cannot help you. I know you may think that I was rude to him, but I am really a very nice person. Do not need this kind of rudeness in my life. read more

This review is based on my last 2 car washes on different vehicles. For $27, plus tip, you get a hand washed car, all interior vacuumed, dash and doors wiped, the car windows and tires cleaned. After the wash and vacuum inside the carport they have, they drive it outside where there is literally a person spending another 10-15 on wiping down everything. Except for an interior upholstery deep clean, I feel like this is the next best thing than a detail car wash. I've gone to the local drive-in car wash but for close to the same price, you have to finish the rest yourself like the vacuuming and not have the materials, like products and towels to clean the windows, dash and tires yourself. I even went through the automatic car wash across the street from Melvin's and still had dirt and bugs on it only to argue with the attendant to have me go through again. Which he finally 'allowed' me to do. Melvin's will do all the work. With both cars, I felt like I was driving away with a new car. Definitely recommend trying and see what you think. read more

Probably the worst customer service I have ever been given. I simply asked if their service would scratch my paint. The man basically didn't look at me and said we power wash, I said what do you use to wash it? He said I can't guarantee no scratches. I asked what he used to wash and dry again and he murmured under his breath a Spanish curse word and said follow me. I followed him alright, right out of the parking lot. He was rude and a customer should be treated with respect... because there are other places to wash a car. read more

While visiting Genoa on a vacation from Michigan, I had 2000+ miles of road dirt and dead bugs on my car. Not that I am a fanatic about my car being immaculate, but I needed a wash. I saw good reviews on Google and Yelp about Melvin's and decided to give them a try. I pointed out to the guy at the start of the process about the bugs and road grime and he replied "It's no problem". I went and paid and waited for my car to be brought around. It was in the wash bay for a while but when it came out I was in awe because it was spotless. In fact when the guy got done drying, washing the windows, and applying the tire dressing, it looked better than when I go it from the dealer when I bought it. I usually get my car washed here and appreciate their work. After a recent car wash my keys were returned to me with 2 keys missing. At the time I was upset but when the keys were found I didn't think too much of it and left. I took my car and my brothers car to be washed yesterday and they were very rude and refused to wash my truck and they also refused my brothers Jeep because he was with me and they said it was my Jeep It was clearly his as it had California plates. The employees/owner were very rude, in the future I will get my truck washed elsewhere and advise others to go somewhere else. read more

Took my 2018 truck in for a wash come back from lunch paid for my wash which wasn't that clean saw my truck out front the kid gave my keys no one said anything as started to look around found the front windshield had a huge crack in it on both sides went back in to talk to the guy in charge he came and said oh it must have been cracked before, no it was not !!!!! Will never go back there again just a bunch of kids working been going there the last 5 years, spend about 50-75 per trip with 3 vehicles. They could have done a lot better, refund or a couple of free washes it cost me upwards of 250.00 to fix. Hope the car wash across the street puts them out of business !!!!!!!!!!!! read more

So I took the wife's car in for a wash and all I wanted is a "Regular Wash". They guy to up sell me two levels higher! This car isn't worth two levels just the regular wash. So he complains to me how dirty the car is and I tell him that's why I'm here to pay him to CLEAN it! Isn't that's why we take our cars to the car wash? I read some of the bad reviews for Melvins and just wonder how the people say what their saying. My wife and I have been using this company for over 12 years and have yet to have the service they say they received. I've noticed some people bring in some really bad cars and expect a $25.00 clean to make it new again and wonder what they think Melvins is - it's a car wash not a miracle worker. Another review states that a full detail couldn't happen the same day they were there and to that I say good luck getting one anywhere the same day. I recently had a detail done on a car we were selling and had to make an appointment which was 6 days and I'm a regular with Melvins. So to give a bad review for something like this shows it's so easy to post crap cause you didn't get your way for something you clearly feel your entitled too. read more

That was the fastest car detail i have ever seen and they missed sooooo much dust in my new chevy tahoe that was already clean just needed dusting and they couldnt even do that. They always do more than is expected (or paid for). I have never been disappointed and I have been taking my truck and cars here for years...mostly for full details. Today I took my new Subaru Outback in for an interior shampoo and detail and when I got it back, they had spiffed up the exterior as well: blackening the tires, all outside plastic and rubber and washed the windows for me....at no extra charge They told me it would be done in 2 hours & it was done when promised. I brought my car to Melvin's today to have it cleaned one last time before we sell it. I returned to my car when they were done and to my surprise sitting on the dash was my diamond anniversary band that I had lost in the car just over a year ago. I had searched the car over and over and not been able to locate it. I can't tell you how many times it has been to a different car wash and been vacuumed out! I seriously thought it was gone forever and if not it would now be sold with the car! I am astonished at the honesty of the young man who worked on my car today!!! No vacuuming and the product used on my dash was for leather. My dash is made of plastic so the leather product he used made a film on the windshield that was all streaked. He told me "Toyota's were bad" regarding the vacuuming that things stick to the carpet. He had his guy clean the windshield inside and they did vacuum again. There was some missed wax residue from the polish that wasn't removed. Turned away my Tacoma because my sister's Rav4 was still in the stereo shop so instead of taking my Tacoma instead of her vehicle that i had an appointment for he said he already had a truck to detail that day. So my sisters car was right from a dealership they just did a poor job detailing it before she took delivery. My truck needed to be vacuumed interior wiped down washed and polished for the 149 bucks and he turned me away. Yes my truck would have probably taken more time to do however the price would have still been the same for a car just out of the dealership compared to a truck that needed the same services rendered but a little harder job. So my sister's car would have got a $50 car wash for a 149 bucks and my car was a $150 for maybe a $200 job and I offered to pay him that but he still turned me away. There has got to be a better place to go. read more

Been randomly going here because of neighbor recommendation but haven't been impressed mostly for minor things, again went today and after one hour during non peak time the entire Tahoe had water spots all over and they just handed me the keys proud of their bad job. When I brought it to their attention they told me they needed to use some special cleaner to remove spots and I would need to make appointment in two weeks. Took my truck to this carwash yesterday and was told 45 minutes. 1 hour and 25 minutes later I notice that the guy working on my truck was gone. I went out to the truck and the keys were not inside. I went back inside to find someone and no one was around to help. I had to go to the back of the building and find ask for help. Eventually they found my keys on the key board inside the carwash. Being that I was missing my daughter softball game I just jumped into my truck and took off. About a 1/4 mile down the road I noticed that the inside of the truck had hardly been touched. I was told for $25.00 they would wash, armor-all tires, armor-all interior as well as vacuum the inside. The inside had been poorly vacuumed, the entire dash area had not been touched (still had dust all over it), the vents and instrument panel were still dirty. Extremely disappointing especially for $25.00. I ended up doing the interior myself when I got home. I could never recommend this place to anyone and I will never return. read more

I went to Melvin #2 on Carson street on a rainy day and just wanted the carpets shampooed for a coffee spill. They got me right in- and not only washed and vacuumed my carpets and mats but washed my car and cleaned all my windows and only charged me for the carpets. I'll definitely be back! read more

I only put one star because the option for zero wasn't an option. This place did a horrible job on my car then told me what it would take to make it better and it would cost me 100 plus dollars which I would have done if they would have done it that day but NO! That wasn't an option, they said if I wanted this done they couldn't do it until 2 weeks later. I don't know y they would even wash my car if they knew that it couldn't be done right. HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!! When I asked about carpets being shampooed last month they said I need to come in the morning. So I did this time. I went in at 930 am and asked for carpet shampoo and the $18.99 car cleaning. He said you can't just come in you need an appointment for carpet shampoo. OK the rules changed. Then he said if my car had a lot of dog hair again I would have to pay 25.00. I stupidly agreed. When I picked up the car at the end of the day, not only was it only half vacuumed but the windows were not cleaned and the protectant in was not applied. They didn't move the emergency kit in the rear to vacuum. There were streaks on the mirrors and front windows as if they had cleaned them with a wet dirty rag. They left their rag in the car. I was treated badly, the cashier was rude to me. I will never go back. The only reason I did this time was because there are so few full service car wash services in town. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!!!!!! read more
