I made a mistake to give this pla ce a 5 star years ago when I initially started with them. These are unethical non professional money hungry leeches. I thought about writing to the ADA. They lied about adding implants and a whole bunch of other services, that cost me more than 3 thousand OOP.I was in pain for whatever they did. The bridge feels like a truck in my mouth. When they called to schedule another appointment, I told them how I was feeling. She nevered a sympathetic word or asked me to come in. They kept calling to get my insurance. I went to see Memorial Dentists (M.D.) because a family member recommended them when I told my family member what I had experienced with a different dentist who did not do a very good job with a procedure, causing chronic pain/inflammation. At M.D., the front desk ladies are upfront with the cost, no hassles, no hidden fees, no surprises. They are very professional, polite, and a pleasure to communicate with. Dr. Siddiqui was also a pleasure to interact with. He listened to my concerns with the issue from the different dentist, and corrected the problem effectively, which has relieved the problem. At M.D., the crowns are made in-house and they fit like a glove. They use the latest technology for custom-made crowns, and are installed the same day of the appointment. This is super! Dr. Siddiqui was very careful during the visit to work around the chronic pain from the other dentist, and corrected the issue using 3D modeling of new crowns to correct the issue. Something noteworthy is, keep in mind that porcelain crowns have more of a coarse feel, which my family member said that is normal for these type of crowns. But they are pure porcelain with no metal, which is an added benefit. From what I understand, Memorial Dentists is under new ownership and they are absolutely top-notch wonderful to do business with. Personally, I feel it doesn't seem fair they should inherit poor reviews from previous ownership. So I hope someone that reads this review is encouraged to pay them a visit. I have recommended Dr. Siddiqui already to a friend that has had a problem with a procedure herself, and I would recommend Dr. Siddiqui and Memorial Dentists to anybody. I have read reviews complaining about the cost, but with inflation and dentistry that has always been expensive, the estimate I received from M.D. was very similar to other estimates. Also I keep in mind that the cost depends on my dental insurance that often nickle-&-dime me. So if there's any gripe about the estimate I received ftom M.D., it is my dental insurance that only covers antiquated old technology such as metal/silver crowns. I walked out of Dr. Siddiqui's office with a corrected procedure, a perfect bite with custom-fitted crowns that have improved the chronic pain I developed from the previous procedure from somewhere else. Poor staff and professionalism. I have been racially profile here a number of times and received terrible customer service. I came in over a month ago to check on the health of my teeth and was advised I had some cavities and the reason my gums were hurting was because cement was left in my mouth from a prior crown replacement that is sharp enough to poke my gums. The pain is excruciating and I have asked the front staff to please schedule me with someone whom can help me get rid of that pain. I was told I had an appt for the beginning of April with the wife of the owner at memorial dentist and it turns out that appt was never set though I received an appt reminder card. Today I came in to receive assistance because the person who answers the phone put me on hold and never came back to the phone nor attempted to call me back. I was told the doctors are not able to help without any valid explanation as to why. The manager of the establishment said she just doesn't think they can help me. It is no wonder this office is rated at 2.0 for their lack of transparency, professionalism and work ethic. I will be making a complaint with the better business bureau for sure! Do better guys, just bc I am a black patient, in pain looking for proper care doesn't mean you should take advantage of me. My dollars spend just as well as other. So I had a horrible experience here. They charged me nearly 200 bux to clean half my teeth. They made it seem like I needed a scaling/periodontal cleaning which a dental hygienist did. That and the dentist gave me too much numbing for a cleaning. Obvi didn't go back to them. Had to find another dentist to finish the job. New dentist only charged 50 bux and did the cleaning himself. He said I didn't need the scaling like Memorial Dentist did. All the dentist did at memorial was shoot me up with drugs and CURSORILY look at my teef. The people at Memorial Dentist are dishonest thieves beware. Probably justifies it by upselling and charging you for procedures you do not need. Unethical fasho. Always do a great job when I need dental work. Had two recent appointments here, and I wasn't let down.

My dental health was not the best, I didn't have dental insurance for awhile and maybe had 2 cleanings in the past decade. On top of that I deal with chronic depression which makes care tasks more difficult. Needless to say I definitely had deep build up. I've been super nervous and embarrassed about going to the dentist but my experience here was amazing. I saw Dr. Siddiqui and my dental hygienist was Sophie. They were both so non-judgmental and kind. Sophie had to do a deep cleaning but she was very gentle and kept making sure I was comfortable/numbed. The office itself is very nice and so is the staff. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything or add on any services and they were very transparent and helpful when it came to cost, insurance, etc. Overall I would definitely recommend and am no longer dreading the dentist! read more

So I waited to post this in order to calm down. But this place is a total scam. This was my first and last visit here. I will pay cash to go elsewhere since my insurance assigned me this clinic. Every single staff member, from the front desk to the xray tech and hygienist to the dentist tried nonstop to sell me Invisalign, even after I refused multiple times. The dentist told me I needed to just finance it-I don't think it is ethical to try to push someone into debt for your own gain. I have had regular dental visits, every 6 months, with no issues. I've never even had a cavity. Yet here they said I managed to develop 4 since my last exam that required intervention which would cost me over $1000 out of pocket? Don't believe. Then I fully admitted to the hygienist that I have gotten out of the habit of flossing (who hasn't?!). She told me verbatim "If you are too lazy to floss you need to buy a waterpik." EXCUSE ME????!!!!! It's been well over a month since my visit and I am still steamed. After your cleaning the hygienist asks in broken English with a big smile if you want a "final rinse". Turns out that is a one minute $26 Flouride rinse not covered by insurance. Have been to Memorial Dentists multiple times now for a cavity filling and cleanings. The office is clean and the dental hygienists are very good. Dr.Siddiqui does inspect when cleanings are being done and suggests anything out of the obvious. I have never waited a long time , when ever my appointment was set for, we (my wife and kids also) were seen on time. Great staff and very accommodating to ones needs. They treat the kids so well. My experience here surely could have been better but they seem to want to tack on erroneous charges for simple procedures and also required things that are not needed. I went to my usual dentist late-January where he told me I needed just a crown because my filling had failed from the cavity being a little sized for one. I didn't return to him because my fiancé had a bit of an issue with their office staff and I wanted to avoid the awkwardness..Fast-forward a bit over a month later, I visit Memorial Dentist where I must admit the office is surely clean and well-put, and the front office staff are extremely pleasant however that alone is not enough for me to be knocked over the head with how much they are attempting to charge. Firstly he told me I needed a root canal, (which that following Monday I set an appt somewhere else to get a second opinion from a 3rd dentist and she said it wasn't necessary, just as my primary dentist stated!!) I think this is an instance of pre-judging and assuming someone would be ignorant to utilizing their BRAIN and resources. If someone could explain wtf a 'premium crown' is -that I didn't request,,cause who cares if its 'premium'-- and why its an additional $300, on top of the already $450 a crown cost plus $500 for the unneeded root canal and $100s in random codes and cost that insurance doesn't cover!! I would appreciate it..but its not necessary as I know they are BS!. read more

PROFIT before PATIENTs !!! This definitely applies to the married couple who own this business. Yes you can get a 1 hour crown BUT is made from some nasty material. Have a tooth problem. You will surely get it pulled here so they can suggest an implant that really really costs. I saw Memorial Dentists on a "free evaluation" visit in May, 2015. They took a full set of x-rays of my teeth and then gave me a print-out of the results along with the costs to fix my teeth. They said a molar with an old crown had developed a cavity and would require removal of the crown, a possible root canal and a new crown. Their sales person showed me the x-ray where a large dark spot was a cavity that required immediate attention before a more serious condition developed. The price was about $2,500. I also had 3 other teeth with cavities that needed fixing (no price was specified) and needed a "deep cleaning" of my teeth that would require 6 visits and cost an additional $600. I decided to visit a dentist in Piedras Negras, Mexico along with a friend. This dentist visually checked my teeth and tapped several teeth with a small metal rod to see if I had any pain (I did not). He informed me that an x-ray could not possibly show a cavity since the metal in the crown would block any interior viewing from being seen. He told me I had no cavities anywhere in my mouth and I needed no repair work. However, since I am over 80 years old, I have serious wearing down on all my teeth, thanks in great part to a grinding habit, particularly while asleep. Thus the nerves are now very close to the tops of the teeth and sometimes hurt when eating some harder foods (such as steak). The dentist then cleaned my teeth and charged me $40 for his inspection, summary and cleaning work. I had a similar experience with another Houston dentist by the Westheimer-Gessner intersection a couple years ago where a sales person tried to sell me a $4,000 service that I didn't need. Houston Physicians are often no better and seem to me to serve more as drug dealers than health advocates or healers (go visit a doctor and you always leave with another drug). Over the years doctors have tried to sell me surgeries from hemorrhoids to a triple bypass, none of which I needed then or now. Years ago, when I had a 1/8" long incision made in my palm to fix a "trigger finger" tendon, I had to give a pint of blood for myself just in case the doctor needed it during the 3 minute surgery. All I can say is to watch your step when dealing with any American doctor, who sometimes are more interested in operating on your pocketbook and don't give hoot about the excessive costs, physical pain or suffering they are actually giving their patients. So always, always get a second opinion from another specialist when dealing with serious costly procedures, preferable one who was not trained in America. read more

I had to get the insurance company on the phone to tell them since they are an in-network provider they are not allowed to charge the extra fees for what we were discussing. Only interested in extracting money from you. Your dentist is whoever is working that day and usually grumpy or rushed. Appointment scheduling is stone age and easily confused (they consistently confused me and the wife, and once tried to charge me because I didn't show up for her appointment). There are a couple of nice hygienists there but in general it's a terrible place. read more

I do not recommend this practice. Similar experiences to the first reviewer. I had a deep clean about 18 months previously , and on joining this new dentist it was recommended a second time. I requested they check it was covered by my insurance whilst I was sat in the chair as I knew there were limitations. About 5 minutes later I got the OK verbally from the admin staff. I went ahead with the cleaning, for which I had to pay about 40%. About a month later got an additional bill for $300 from the dentist. I was only allowed the peridontal clean every 2 years. As a consumer I accept that responsibility to be aware of terms and conditions, however I expect that when I explicitly ask to check with my insurer if the treatment is covered that I get the correct and honest answer. My wife had other problems with this surgery. Needing some crowns and onlays to replace old fillings she went ahead with treatment on one quadrant. On the occasions for initial fitting and final fitting she was kept in the chair for approximately 2 hours whilst the dentist was working on another patient concurrently. This is unnacceptable. If you are paying for your treament yourself the hygenist I saw was OK, but dentists I saw, Dr Nguyen, did not take the time to explain any recommended course of treatment and left it to the hygenist. One of the recommendations was to replace an only that had "decay" undertneath. I was concerned about this as it was recent so I went to see my previous dentist (the only reason for changing was we moved to another part of town) to check. We both look at the xrays of the tooth and saw no issues. Yet again a dentist trying to extract more money from a client for needless work. I got my dental cleaning done at this place a couple of times. I had to go to another dentist who did what I wanted to get done to my teeth and not what they wanted to do. As other people said, at memorial dentists they are very pushy to force you to get procedures done even if you dont want to. Oh and if you used to be a patient there, I'll advise you to call back and check if they overcharged you. They did it to me, and never return what I was overcharged. I called them this week so they could return to me what they overcharged me 4 years ago. They are like like certified thieves. I will assume that if you do not hear from a patient in couple of years , you would contact them and let them know you have been overcharged. I should have read these reviews before going to Memorial Dentists. Everything mentioned in the previous reviews are very true. My hygienist was not rude, although a little incompetent. The other staff came across as outright rude. I fell prey to the most typical scam these people run....... performing some service that is not covered by insurance (without letting me know of that), and then sending the bill in the mail. When I called to inquire why I was not informed that something not covered by insurance was given to me, they said that everyone knows what their insurance covers, and so I should have known. She even had the guts to tell me that I should keep that in mind when I come next time. I told her that there is not going to be any next time. Then she became really rude...... As other reviews have said, these people are unprofessional sleazeballs. There is another review on some other site that mentions how Memorial Dentist was trying to charge for transfering records, and the patient had to do a conference call with the manager and the insurance agent to stop them from doing that...... read more

Went to memorial dentist , to see how I like them , for they are in the same bldg as my primary dr. I have my teeth cleaned every six month ,I have good teeth , and well taken care of. Have had work done all over the world, and here in HOUSTON , my regular dentist , that I had for years died. Memorial dentists . when signing in I got a gift bag to start told I only wanted to have my teeth cleaned, she said by law you have to have XRAYS , so after a long talk, I said ok,, when ready, the girl come to clean my teeth , she looked angry ,said after looking ,you need a deep cleaning, or your teeth will fall out, when I declined,she said I had to sign a release form denying treatment, I did, the dr come in I told her what I had been told , and I was very upset , to say the list , the dr said I do not see much wrong ,, then left the hygienist did not stop telling me ,teeth will fall out, and was angry, so I decided I better leave, and I told her so.did not dare to have her do anything in my mouth. The amount of scams running out of this place is insane! We are new to Houston so, I sadly set up an appointment for my husband with the closest dentist to our home. When we walked in it seemed nice and the staff was really friendly and even gave us a gift bag with a coffee cup. Even the doctors were super friendly once we went in the back for treatment. It all started once they told my husband that he needed a deep cleaning, and that he needed several crowns and cavities filled. Once we got the bill, it came out to THOUSANDS of dollars and this was after applying our insurance! My husband looked over the bill once we got home, and noticed that they charged us 2 or 3 times for the same procedures and some charges weren't even supposed to be applied to us. He stayed on them for weeks, until they refunded part of that money. He still needed some work done, so we decided to switch dentist offices and they said that he in fact did not need a deep cleaning and that the last crown he needed (according to memorial dentist) was unnecessary and could be fixed with a filling. I just moved to the energy corridor with my husband, and decided to find a new dentist to begin seeing for my regular visits. I picked Memorial Dentists because they were right next to my husbands office, and he would be able to get to appointments easily. Right when I arrived, I was so impressed by the staff and the office itself. They were very friendly, offered me a coffee or water, and gave me a gift. When it was time for me to go to the back, they showed me around and introduced me to the staff. I was impressed by all of the technology and accommodations. When I told my hygienist that I would rather leave my jacket on because I get cold easily, he offered me a fuzzy blanket instead so that my jacket wouldn't get anything on it. I was shown all of my x-rays and charts on a screen in front of me because I had told them I was pretty interested in how it all worked. Over the top service, seriously. When I was a kid, I had an accident that landed me in the hospital. I had to get a root canal at age 13 because of this accident. When the dentist came in, he told me I would need another root canal in the tooth next to it. I was told the tooth was completely dead. He pointed out that it was slightly discolored, which I had noticed, so it made sense to me. After the initial exam, they brought in a long list of treatments I would need as if my teeth were in some horrible condition, quickly breaking it down and telling me what I would owe for the day. This was my first red flag. Before one of the treatments they performed on me, I ran to the restroom while the numbing medication was setting in. On the door, there was a sign posted saying they will give you $25 off your next visit if you give them a good review on Google, Yelp, or Facebook. This was red flag number 2. After my treatment for the day, my hygienist said I would need to come back in just a few weeks for the completion of my cleaning, whatever that means. Why was I there almost 2 hours if I didn't even get my teeth cleaned? Red flag number 3. When I was sitting down with the cashier at the end of my visit, she broke down the two options for my root canal, even saying under her breath, "Let's see how good your insurance is," as she adjusted what I would "need." Red flag number 4. In the end, after my insurance, it was going to cost me just over $1000 for the procedure. I was a little uneasy about that value so I started researching, calling other dentists and reading reviews. Another dentist got me an appointment just a couple days later, and was so sweet, helpful, and understanding of my situation (Klein Family Dentistry). I told them that I was concerned about paying more than I needed to since I had already run the insurance on my other visit. They cut their usual fee in half and didn't charge me for the one x-ray that they needed to take. After the x-ray was taken, the hygienist asked me right away to tell her again which tooth the other dentist had said needed a root canal, almost confused. When the dentist came to talk to me, he respectfully shook my hand and asked me where I had gone for the first exam. I showed him the breakdown of all of the things they said I needed, and he apologized that I had been taken advantage of like that. I did not even need a root canal. He explained that the very slight discoloration was just the tooth rebuilding itself after getting knocked the first time. He asked me if I had experienced any symptoms other than the discoloration, and I had not. He put something really cold on my tooth and I could still feel it. I left with relief that I didn't just go with Memorial Dentists. I absolutely do not recommend them to anyone, unless you have copious amounts of time and cash you enjoy blowing. read more

I have never felt more violated in my entire life. I came in because my wisdom tooth is coming through and I just needed some pain medication to get me through this. Last time I came the doctor told me I had an infection but was willing to prescribe me some pain medication along with antibiotics. I don't take antibiotics as a personal choice and I was willing to take a chance to see if it gets worse within a few days. If it did I would have just taken the tooth out. Within a week I felt good and the tooth came out fine with no infections. Clearly I didn't need antibiotics. This time I was told the same story and some more about things I didn't come in for and didn't care about. They told me they will numb my jaw with some gel to temporarily take the pain away. I agreed and they rubbed in some gel and I thought that was it. The doctor asked me to lay back so he can inspect it and as I did he shoved a needle in my mouth and injected something directly into my jaw where it hurt the most. Without telling me anything but doing it without my consent. I was in tears not just because it hurt but because someone could be so inconsiderate and rude and then just hand me a tissue and walk away. Then the nurse handed me a piece of paper with a prescription for antibiotics. When I explained to her that I don't take them and that I rather just have pain killers she said that because its an infection I have to take the antibiotics. And left it at that. So now I'm still in pain and going somewhere where dentists are willing to help me and not violate me and then turn me away. read more

I've had a considerable amount of work done here and I've been pleasantly surprised every time. I got a night guard made, had a deep cleaning, multiple fillings and even had a crown done the same day. The entire staff is professional and friendly. I wrote a review a few weeks ago raving about Memorial Dentists and not soon after was treated like just another joe-blow. It's sad that now I have to find another dentists office. I've been going to this place since 2008. My college age son went to Memorial Dentist the middle of December to find out he had 9 cavities, and he had to put a $50 deposit down to hold the appointment to have them filled. I thought that was strange since he's never had issues before, so I sent him back to our old dentist once January rolled around and we were back on a PPO dental plan.....just had x-rays today and ZERO cavities. 1 star was to many!!! read more

I decided to go here just because it is close to my work. I just move to the area for an engineering job. The tools and materials that they use were ok and if you wanted you could upgrade to a better ones, (just pay more) -My Dentist was "Doshi" or something like that, He no longer work there. They convert all my amalgams into crows,, -That sounds ok.. Let me tell you, Went I went back to my country, my dentist-over-seas told me that I didn't need none of this work and that they love crowns because is easy job and lots of money... I was really upset... He also told me that with a crown you teeth degenerate faster. And you also have to be more careful cleaning. That is not the end; I lost one of my teeth because of a bad conduct treatment (Done by Anthony Zamany DDS) that was referred by Memorial Dentist and last only 6 months. -So I was referred to an implant specialist. The implant doctor was excellent and everything went right.. But in this moment I notice that the memorial dentist was all about money... Every time I went back they will take X-rays,,, I have a discussion telling that I did not need so many and so often X-rays..(That produces cancer) They also tray to bid against the implant specialist,, saying they will do that in house,, and (Miriam Folta DMD) give me a quote... the quote was 1500 over the specialist,, and it will be perform by a none-specialist.... I can't believe this.. so I move on to another dentist.. This is the first time I have to do a review; because I think what they did was none ethical. I've been a patient for about 1.5 years. I have a periodontal cleaning every 3 months. My first hygienist was Carla, and she was excellent. No issues whatsoever. Unfortunately, Carla left. I made an appointment with Sophie. The day of the appointment, they called and asked if I could possibly come in one hour early. I agreed, and moved some things around to accommodate their request. I arrived exactly on time. Within a short time I was taken to a room and introduced to a young man who asked me to be seated in his chair. I asked what happened to Sophie? He said they changed the schedule around and he would be doing my cleaning. I asked if he could check with the front desk and see if they could change the schedule back and put me with Sophie. They could not, because they GAVE MY APPOINTMENT AWAY BECAUSE ONE OF THE DENTISTS NEEDED HER TO DO A TREATMENT! So they gave my appointment away (that had been scheduled for 3 months) and switched me to someone I knew nothing about. The "Office Manager" said they cannot guarantee any appointments with hygienists because things change often in dental offices and they must accommodate those changes. What? Never mind the patient! I "discussed" at length and the "office manager" finally said, "I've apologized and you just want me to admit we were wrong and I'm not going to do that. We did what we needed to do." I've always taken care of my teeth and see dentists & hygienists on a regular basis. I've never had a problem or issue one. I've NEVER been treated this way, and I've never been told "we gave your appointment away right before you arrived" and switched your hygienist. I ended up waiting for Sophie (almost an hour) and she was excellent. It was not her fault. I will be seeking a new dentist. I've been very suspicious with the intensity in which they push ALL treatments. If you don't agree immediately and say you want to think about it or research, they act like you will be sorry! This was the final straw. Too bad because the office is very convenient, clean, and Sophie was great. The "office manager" must receive a % of services because she seems to have quite a vested interest in pushing them. read more
