We discovered last year (yeah...took us a while) that they have an ice cream parlour inside of it, serving hand-scooped Thrifty-brand ice cream for a really, really value price. Well...due to a plumbing issue, it's been closed for months now...but we stopped by yesterday, and it's baaack. The counter is located right in front, left of the registers. Since there is usually nobody there and it's no different at Rite-Aid to find someone to help you, the right move is to stand-in line at the register and pay first. They will then call somebody over to help. It's $1.99 for one scoop in a cake or sugar cone, and they have a great selection of interesting flavors. I get the mocha almond fudge or rocky road, while other interesting flavors are coconut pinapple, medieval madness. It's scooped using a unique cylinder ice cream scoop, and they are very generous with the portion (one scoop is plenty...some staff will choose to give 2 smaller scoops to make the one 'scoop'). The ice cream is probably a bit below average in terms of taste and creaminess for a gourmet ice cream (reminded me of the ice cream you can serve yourself in a chinese buffet), but it's $1.99, folks. One can't beat the experience of walking back to your home on a hot, sunny SoCal afternoon, trying to lick the ice cream in the right places at the right times so it doesn't melt all over your hands. Ice cream trucks/carts don't seem to serve hand-dipped ice cream anymore, so this experience really reminds me of an earlier time. Now only if I could find a walkable Rite-Aid near one of our favorite beaches...

The store is clean and easy to shop, smaller than some of the other stores, and they sometimes are out of itemsI want, but pickup at the counter is very easy. They always seem to have enough staff for the checkout line, and they are friendly and efficient. In-store pharmacy, though, is always busy with a wait. There are always good sales and digital coupons, and in general with CVS I earn discounts for getting prescriptions

I first checked aisle 10 thinking it would be near the children's medication but could not find it anywhere. I went up to the front and asked the cashier, Vincent, for help. His customer service was exceptional. Instead of just pointing me in a direction, he walked with me and checked aisle 13 as well while I explained what I was looking for. As we talked it through, it suddenly clicked for him and he realized it would actually be back in aisle 10 in a different section. He walked me right to it and made sure I found exactly what I needed. At two in the morning when you are dealing with a crying baby, that kind of help means everything. Because of Vincent's patience, quick thinking, and willingness to go the extra step, I was able to get the gripe water and get my daughter settled so she could finally sleep. Truly top-notch customer service and very much appreciated.

With that being said I have always had pleasant visits in the store and with the pharmacy. The staff here are great, I have never run into issues, they are very helpful and provide prompt service. Being a Walgreens member has its perks, it's free to sign up, the points add up and sometimes your purchase is only a few dollars. The coupons are great too! Tonight Blanca helped me at the pharmacy with my prescription and I purchased a few other items at the same register, she was very kind and attentive. After a long day at work it was nice to have a kind interaction. Coming to work with a good attitude is a choice, you never know who needs your kindness regardless of what you're going through. Extremely frustrating and poorly ran pharmacy. Seems like every month they have a different person…read moreand/or pharmacist working there. Never have any medication in stock, they never utilize the automated alert system if your script is ready, you have to call and wait on hold for an hour until someone picks up and confirms. You also have to repeat yourself and why you're calling at least 3 times, and sometimes you get disconnected and then have to call back and reexplain everything. I used to love this pharmacy but it has gone extremely down hill and the personnel working at the pharmacy are also extremely rude with absolutely zero customer service. They will promise you a script will be ready, and then when you call back a few hours later, they will say they don't have the medication and it won't be ready for another few days. Unfortunately, I will be taking my business elsewhere. Wouldn't be surprised if this place goes out of business soon.

The technicians don't seem to able to handle the drive through in a timely manner and just walk away and leave the car sitting there at the window. I have been in the line now for 31 minutes and STILL have 6 cars in front of me. This will be my last time coming here for prescriptions and will be calling corporate AGAIN.

Just double check the total for your purchase before you pay and walk out the door. For some reason they decided to charge my medication through the insurance instead of using the manufacturers coupon. I home and saw a charge on my Amex for 1400.00. I had to go back and ask them to go through the manufacturers coupon and not the insurance, they kept arguing that my insurance covers it and I had to explain multiple times that I paid for the 1400 out of pocket. Eventually they agreed on a refund and then go through the manufacturer without the insurance getting involved.

Turns out my refill prescription (which I had gotten at CVS in December 2025) was sent to the mail order company I had previously used. No explanation from my doctor's office regarding why this happened. Vina calmly explained this glitch to me. She then contacted my doctor and the pharmacist at the mail order pharmacy and had my script transferred. Problem solved. But things couldn't have been resolved this quickly without Vina's help. I'm most grateful for her assistance.

I politely walked up and smiled at her and placed my items on the counter. She said clearly, "Who does she think she is, Beyonce?" and rolled her eyes. I do not think it is okay to be unnecessarily rude to customers as I definitely did not deserve any type of attitude from her. I stopped at this location as it is closer to my house but I will go back to the Los Altos or Seal Beach CVS. This incident will be reported to the manager. The day it happened, I did not want to make a scene or say anything just yet as I was upset by the interaction. I will let people know that outside of this issue, the store was clean & orderly. The other clerk (a guy - did not catch his name) I met was nice and helpful so thank you to him.
