Dear CVS Senior Management, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience I had at CVS Pharmacy. The service I received was extremely poor, and some staff members behaved in an unprofessional manner I spoke with an employee named Imelda regarding my medication, but she walked away without explanation while I was in the middle of speaking to her. I was left waiting without any update, and she never followed up or checked on my prescription. I then asked for assistance from the manager, Jessie, but she did not take the time to properly review my situation. Even though I explained that my doctor had already sent the fax, she told me I could not receive my medication. Her tone felt impatient, and she raised her voice, which made me feel uncomfortable as a patient. Because of this, I had to contact my doctor again while waiting at the store. After they resent the information, the medication was eventually found in the system--but no one had taken the time to check thoroughly before. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes unnecessarily. I used to visit this CVS location often, and the staff was always helpful and professional. It was one of my favorite stores. However, after this experience, I feel nervous and uncomfortable returning, which is disappointing. I hope management addresses these issues, especially since this is a 24-hour location that many patients rely on. I would also like to recognize Liz, one of the pharmacists, who was very kind, patient, and helpful. She clearly explained everything and made sure I received my medication. This was probably the roughest CVS I have been too, AND almost everything putting was locked up. The store had a old smell like wet carpet/old dog and cinnamon.There was only one cashier with a line down the aisle, and no one was on the floor to even open up a case for me to get some shampoo so I just left. This is usually a good pharmacy to go to. I recently had a really bad experience on June 8th at around 8:30p with "Shift Manager" Sal shes a white Middle aged lady tall with green hair and her employee short small dark skinned young lady with big glasses, piercings all over her mouth. The young dark skinned young lady was a cashier at the register she could not help us because she did not see a price tag on a item we were trying to purchase so the Shift Manager Sal at that time that night had to help us.The dark young lady move to the next register so Sal can help us with the issue. So I had a really long day I was very tired and exhausted. I was struggling on standing in line and kept dazing off because I am a Type 1 diabetic feeling dizzy lightheaded sometimes that happens went to pick up my medication. So the dark skinned employee asked me "Are you good?" And I said "No, I'm not feeling well" and she said "because you keep staring at me". I said "What"? I'm not staring at you I'm dazing off. She went on to say I kept staring at her. I insisted in saying I'm not staring at you "I'm jst not feeling well right now". Then I asked what was her problem because she kept trying to raise her voice and I said she shouldn't be saying/acting like that towards a customer. She then said "Bitch, Don't Get Me Started" right in front of the shift manager Sal that was in charge. I was so shocked with my mom how I was being so disrespected in front of other customers and shift manager. I asked the Manger did you not hear "what she told me"? Sal went on try and tell me to be quiet and say I had an attitude just because I said what was the employees problem. I had said to Sal I am a paying and regular customer here. She went on to say not right now your not I replied I just picked up and paid for my medicine so "Yes, I Am. Then instead of de-escalating the situation Sal told me so was "I staring or dazing off to pick one". I was so amazed on how she didn't care that her employee was calling me out of my name. She kept trying to tell me and my mom to be quiet when we said they were very unprofessional. Sal went on to say if you two don't shut up I'm not going to give you the actual discount to this item and make you pay full price for this item. We said we weren't going to pay for it if she was going to do that, so she snatched the item and said I am refusing you service and continued to call us names. I now hate going to this CVS which I never had a problem with before. Worst experience and Do not recommend buying anything here. Zero Stars I would give It! read more

Weirdest CVS Pharmacy I've been to... When you first come in, there's a turnstile gate which I have never seen in a CVS Pharmacy. I'm guessing this is only for select locations. Majority of the aisles are locked up shelves where you can only access the items you need if you click on a button. The button announces to the store intercom that there is assistance needed in what department you're in. The employee that helped me was really kind, and he thanked me for waiting patiently. Checking out is easy if you're just using the self check-out machine. There are two self check-out machines, and they both take cash and card. I overheard an employee telling a customer waiting in line to use the self check-out machine so I guess they prefer that. I honestly wouldn't recommend anyone to come to this CVS Pharmacy. It made me feel like I'm a criminal or that I need a babysitter. It's convenient because it's open 24 hours, but you're not going to be able to leave quickly since you'll be waiting for an employee to bring you every item you need. I feel like you could drive to a different CVS Pharmacy in the time it takes to search for your items, click the button, wait, tell the employee which items you need, perhaps go into another aisle for a different item and repeat the process, check out, and leave. read more

I was there earlier today for a prescription stood in a kind of long line, but was held by Samantha who kept smiling the whole time and very professional and efficient. I had to go back for another prescription and she was still smiling. Kiddos to her because I know how many people she's helped. I'd like to acknowledge much needed improvement in the Service here. I recently visited and just offered my backpack so that I could shop in peace as I knew I had a few things to look for. I think the guy is named Michael as well but he refused and I explained the culture of service and he exclaimed that "We need to do better" One acknowledgment deserves another! I have been coming to CVS for a while and pharmacy is always busy. Tonight I want to give kudos to the 2 pharmacist Mike & Isaac working soo hard at the pick up windows. They dealt with all types of customers, including some difficult ones. Through it all they still kept a professional stance, kind attitude and caring demeanor. One of the bigger CVS in the south part of Long Beach, this large location has a Minute Clinic for health screening and vaccinations. We used to use this CVS for our shots, but had to switch with our insurance change. This time, we came for some needed supplies and it was in stock. Strangely a lot of dental products (including a lot of the toothpastes) were locked up in this location...must be something that gets stolen a lot. The cashier was directing people to use the self-checkout kiosk as much as possible, and it was as easy as always (applied all our digital coupons automatically, too). read more

Christina (pharmacist) constantly talks over customer concerns and prioritizes being right over actually helping or listening. Her lack of communication skills is costing my mom her medication and resources, and it's clear the customer's needs aren't her priority. Do better. On August 25, 2024, I forwarded an email with pictures, regarding the conditions at the CVS located at 233 E. Willow Street in Long Beach, CA. Today, September 19th, at approximately 3:30 I had to go into the store to pick up a prescription since the drive-thru window was closed. Unfortunately, the front entrance was in even worse condition. The sidewalk was filthy, the trash can by the entrance was overflowing, and a retail bag full of trash sat next to it. The smell was unbearable. What is going on with the conditions at this location? I am seriously considering sending these pictures to the Mayor of Long Beach. Perhaps then, customers can expect a clean and presentable store. read more

They got rid of the girl that was more important than everyone else. We love this pharmacy! Top-notch pharmacists, shady location though. Lock your car, clinch your purse and kids, and sometimes the line is long.... But the service is great, help is friendly, and they take care of your prescriptions. read more

I came here to pick up an antibiotic after my new piercing showed signs of infection. I arrived around 6am and the drive through was completely empty. The pharmacist was nice even though it was early. I realized immediately that I forgot my wallet but I was happy to hear I could use Apple Pay in the drive through. I brought a coupon with me but the pharmacist was able to find an even better deal in their system. I got in and out & they saved me $25 - I call that a win! Thanks for the great service! read more

This is one of the most filthiest CVS Pharmacies I have seen. The shelves are dirty, there are stains on the floor, and there are discarded food wrappers near the pharmacy counter. A store that specializes in people's health should not present to the public in this manner. The pharmacy staff does not seem to be any better. The staff frequently is rude and responds as if you are bothering them with your questions. I would recommend visiting any other pharmacy or CVS. Customer service is horrible. Pharmacy always messes my prescriptions up. No accountability here at all with workers messing up your prescriptions. I would not recommend going here ever. Especially if you have a medical issue that requires you to have your prescriptions continuously . I've been coming here for 3 years and I still have the same issues. I will be switching pharmacies immediately after they finally get my prescription that they have been messing up for a whole month right. read more

I went to CVS Friday to pick up some Pedialyte since I had been sick for a few days, but I actually ended up buying soup among other things and I forgot to get a cart. I went ahead and put the stuff on top of the refrigerator and got in line, and I have to say in the past few years. This service has not been great there, but I actually received service from the store manager Michael, who went out and helped me gather my stuff from the refrigerator to one of the self help cashier . He was reassuring. The people in line. That's somebody would be right with them. I just gotta say as a store manager. He did an amazing job. This one was good in a pinch! Needed a 24-hr pharmacy for an unexpected 2:30AM visit. The doc sent the prescription right over and even though the systems text messages told me it wouldn't be ready until 5:30AM I called them and asked them to push it up as the antibiotics I needed had to be taken right away. They agreed and told me as long as I got in there before 2:30AM (which is apparently when their systems reset) I would be able to get my medicine. I arrived at 2:25AM and got it in the nick of time. The front of their building is absolutely disgusting. Looks like it's never been washed and looks like CVS really doesn't care! I use the drive thru for my prescriptions and when that's closed which has been a lot recently, I have to walk through the grossness that is the entry way of the pharmacy. I've lived in this area since 2014 and I know a lot of the workers at this CVS. I appreciate these guys and all they had to put up with. Sadly, a lot of my favorite workers are being singled out one by one. I learn later that they are trying to shut down 24 hr due to the rising theft. Im also told that with the new manager who is vying for the loss prevention position is picking on every little thing so she can to make herself look appealing to upper management. Sounds like CVS does not care about their employees. The economy is bad enough. Practices I've heard about how this new management is going about are: writing up your employees for frivolous things despite of good record & till count when there has hardly been embezzlement from the workers. Word of advice - giving your former employees bad reviews so that potential employers won't hire them is poor form. Your tactics are bogus. These workers have families and it's difficult as it is to find new jobs. FIX MANAGEMENT. Everything rises and falls upon leadership. Clearly the current management has poor leadership skills. Seriously, when a particular customer enters the store, they act as if they're afraid and immediately use the speaker to ask an employee to scan every aisle every 5 minutes. Employees are not very pleasant, and their behavior is unacceptable because they believe that no one will speak up about it. Kindness doesn't have to cost anything, but being rude comes naturally to them. It's easy to have a bad attitude but difficult to maintain a positive one. read more
