We found some of our favorite snacks at the front and grabbed those on our way to look at the meats. The first red flag, all of the meat was the same dull, brown color. It looked like it had been sitting there for a while and was going bad. The second red flag was that there was no signage for price or what each meat even was. We stood there at the meet counter and noticed some workers talking to each other in the aisle about 10' from us. They said hello and that was all. Didn't ask if we needed help picking or purchasing anything and didn't even seem enthusiastic when saying hello. There was no one else in the store. While they conversed, we started looking at some sauces they had in the aisle behind us. The third red flag, and what ultimately made me put my snacks down and leave was that there was an odd looking jar of Tostino's on the shelf. I was pretty certain of what I was looking at so I urned the jar to check the date, and sure enough, it had expired in January of 2025!! The very front product! Obviously there is no FIFO (first in, first out) in this store. I pointed it out to my partner and we left without purchasing anything. The overall lack of care they had to help customers, as well as gross looking meat and expired product just made me severely unnerved. I recommend going elsewhere for tacos whether you're making them yourself or eating in house.

I learned to make it myself in a Mexican restaurant, and theirs is exactly the same. Which I love, because I can get a single portion when I don't want to make it myself. Restaurant is tiny and really nothing special. But it works. It's still comfortable to sit and eat. Staff is friendly and kind, answered my questions. Prices are still reasonable, even with inflation. This is such an amazing small, local business to support. It's been in the same family for two generations now. Clearly they are doing something right, and I will continue to return. Review 12 of 2025.

I love this restaurant! These guys are great and I was there when they opened their doors! From day one they ve served great and authentic Mexican food, HUGE portions and always a smile when we come in the door! Memo s Restaurant is the hit if you re in Springfield and want some real mexican food... and they got it to go if you just want to take it home (call first) and grubb in front of the TV! The ambiance and the attention we always receive from the owner and the wait staff every time we go. I'm sorry "Brian K" had a bad experience. We went there last night and were greeted by the staff we've gotten to know: Eliazer, Maria, and Diego! This is a locally owned and operated restaurant and although we live in Portland we eat here every month when we visit because the food is good and everyone is super friendly. We are vegetarians and our favorite dish is the spinach enchiladas! Incredible! Also ask for a shot of Mexican whiskey sometime. read more

Ok, So heres the story. Memos is a warm place, but I ordered tacos el pastor and the menu says it was made off a rotisserie. But when it came to my table it was clearly obvious it was not, but infact fried on a grill or maybe a frying pan. Ive had tacos el pastor in mexico and other mexican restaurants, they were better then memos. Anyhow the young waiter, kept calling me dog. Im not a dog nor a gangster! I dont even dress that way. What was he thinking? One less place Im going to visit. read more

The food tasted old and microwaved but cold in the middle. Not much flavor. When I sent it back, at least they took my meal off the bill. Waitress only came back after serving us once to drop off the bill. Very poor service. read more
