So I've never been to this one before but I love the other ones. This place seemed to be on par with the others. For me, in this area, competition is fierce and there are lots of choices and options on where to eat. That's the only reason I'm not a regular here. There are so many awesome restaurants in this part of the city and pizza isn't always my first choice. My only complaint on the calzone was that the inside was not hot. I think they're running the oven too hot so they can get the food out to the table quickly, and that might cause the outside to cook fast, without bringing the inside up to temperature. The outside was hot. The inside was warm. I'll try to go check on some pizza, but like I said, there's other choices in this area and I can have MPC in other parts of the city. read more

Absolutely adorable! From the sweet waitress to the delicious food. My husband and son split the 13 inch Hey Meat. They loved that it was covered in meat. I ordered a garlic chicken without the chicken and no one rolled their eyes. Later, I ordered a 1/2 chef salad which was plenty and came out with the pizza. The crust is a thin crust but not a cracker crust. I love that they had several no sauce options. We don't live in Memphis and already had barbe que. This pizza place was perfect! read more

Every time I visit here it is always a pleasant dining experience. The staff are very helpful, kind, and aim to demonstrate good customer service skills. Ordered for pickup a couple if pizzas, cheese bread,  and apple strudel. I was told 20 min for pick up I thought to my self yea it's 6 pm and I'll have a wait when I get there. Boy was I wrong I got into the door waited about 5 minutes to get to the counter and damn it they had my order being boxed up. 10 STARS This is my first visit of many more to come. Food was awesome, pizza crest nice and thin like I wanted it. Apple strudel was sweet and spicy with cinnamon, and the cheese bread had so much cheese you had to cut the strings. The service is good and the pizza quality is great. The only thing that keeps me from giving them five stars is their salad. Just a plain Jane salad with lettuce and a couple of other salad additives. The ranch dressing is good, and that is about the only kind thing I can say about it. I love the veggie pizza better than the Supreme pizza and I love the Supreme, but the last four time I have been to the Pizza Cafe on Madison, I have picked the Veggie pizza. I travel to Memphis weekly and always looking for a new eatery. Pizza sounded good, so gave it a shot. Had the small Cesar salad and a slice of veggie and Hawaiian. Overall, very good. The slices are not huge and the crust is thin with good crisp. Toppings are fresh. Salad was not the typical creamy Caesar dressing, but a much lIghter version. I eat here almost every week. I love the crispy thin cracker crust. My favs are the buffalo chicken pizza, pepperoni and jalapeño pizza, and apple pizza for dessert. Service is always on point. Weekend nights can get a little busy so you may have a wait. Also! If you order too many toppings (more than 4) it makes the crust kind of soggy. Very filling and unique pizza! I ordered a cesar salad with tomatoes added and a slice of the ultimate cheese that has sprinkles of Feta (yum!). They do not go lightly on their toppings on their salad or pizza, which I believe is always a plus. I only give 4 stars because of the quality of the bathroom at this location. Stopped in for finally slice pizza. The pizza itself in thin style much like what you will find in St. Louis. I had the veggies and a slice of pepperoni, both were ok but nothing special really. Aldo's is the big pizza place here but they dont serve by the slice which is a downer for me on them. If I have a craving for pizza I may stop but thats it. I look at my prior review and I don't even remember ever having such tepid feelings for MPC. A few weeks ago, I picked up pizza for myself & my dear old mom stuck in hospital for a week. I spontaneously ordered a slice of pizza, no mozz with feta, bacon and spinach along with a slice of veggie for mom. This slice was magically delicious - truly the best slice of pizza I ever have had. I tasted it before heading back to hospital and found myself, a woman if a certain age, mother of 2 grown young men, gobbling down a slice of pizza in my car as I drove. Pizza while driving could be dangerous but I in the thrall of MPC's pizza creation for me, made it safely and full back to hospital with mom's slice still warm and intact. Memphis Pizza Cafe is a staple in this city. It has always big really good...but...not tonight. The pizza was hot and fairly good but the service...not so much. Our server was Autumn. Autumn got our order correct but never once did she smile, ask if everything was ok, refill our glasses without being asked...nope, nada! We have to flag her down for refills, never did she ask if everything was okay. She brought our check without saying a word! The BBQ chicken pizza at Memphis Pizza Cafe would 100% be my last meal. The chicken is never dry (which you know sometimes happens if you are a BBQ chicken pizza connoisseur like me) and there is a perfect BBQ sauce to cheese to chicken to crust ratio in literally each and every bite. I recommend getting it with a side (or 2) of ranch to really take this culinary masterpiece to the next level. Also a great selection of craft beer available if that's your thing! read more

Good pizza, cool hang. Very relaxed - I'm here at a conference for two weeks and this is the only place I've been to twice. Pizzas quick, the beer is cold. Honestly I don't get the comments about the burnt crust. I need more char on my pie. If you want a pale, flabby pie go to a chain. These folks do well. read more

Had the worst service. The manager on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, is most likely overpaid. They were not busy, and to find out that my daughter and her boyfriend had got there before the rest of the family and had not even been acknowledged. I summed it up to them being young and her boyfriend being of a different race. The manager was so busy sweeping the floor and removing the grated parmesan cheese that it was too much for her to clean two tables and even put them together. I watched her as the rest of the staff could have used a helping hand, but she clearly was ready to rush the customers out and close up. My daughter and I come from a background working in the restaurant industry, and by far, this has been one of the worst experiences. I work hard for my money, and it definitely will not be spent paying any of the employees there. read more

The midtown location has an awesome outdoor patio and spacious seating area inside. I love the crust of this pizza- thin but not thin. You can order a variety of specialty pizzas by the slice or by the pie. You can also build your own pizza with toppings of your choice. I like the alternative, an olive oil based crust rather than the traditional tomato-based. Another thing I like about this place is that you can order salads by the whole or half. I usually order a half salad to go along with my slice. And I always get the ranch dressing. I don't know what kind of ranch they use, but it is the best I've ever tasted. A non-assuming, casual atmosphere that works for groups, families or couples, Memphis Pizza Cafe never disappoints. read more

Each time we've gone here, we've experienced poor service. This time, the waitress forgot to take our order but took other people's orders at our table. We found her at the bar and ordered. When the pizza was delivered, the order was wrong. We let the waitress know that the order was wrong, and when she was taking the pizza back, a water was accidentally knocked over onto another person's pizza. The waitress asked if we want to buy another pizza for the other people. We were appalled that she didn't offer to bring them a few slices since this all resulted from the wrong delivery. I literally add cheese to EVERYTHING!!! This specialty pizza has the right amount of cheese on it. I added Parmesan cheese to it as well! I stopped at this location during the Overton Square Crawfish festival. It was very crowded, but the service didn't lack at all. After trying their pizza several times and trying multiple different styles of pie, I walk away every time disappointed by the crust... It's kind of like this cardboard-y cracker crust.
