I have been using Men in Black for monthly pest control since July and I could not be happier with the results or quality of service. This review is for Jason! After several years in our home, we started having a significant spider problem which was causing a lot of anxiety and stress. Yellow sac spiders, nasty little things with a nasty bite! Drug store remedies were not cutting it and we didn't know where else to turn. When I called Men In Black to schedule an initial treatment I was at the end of my rope. It was on a Friday night, with a spider in my bed and there was no availability for same-day, but Margaret (who was so nice and helpful) said she would put me the cancellation list for that same evening. Lo and behold, there was a late night cancellation and Jason came knocking on our door at around 11pm(!). He was so thorough and reassuring - you could tell that he really wanted to help. For being so late, he took his time, didn't rush, and his calm demeanor and professionalism helped to put me at ease. Since that night, we have had Men in Black come back monthly and the peace of mind is worth every penny. We have had treatments by both Jason and Rob and each time they have more than met expectations - always punctual, follow up on every bait trap and glue board in the apartment, take pictures, etc. Men in Black really knows their stuff and I strongly recommend requesting Jason or Rob! read more

I am having ant problems and they won't go away. I tried to use Terro Ant Bait and on the first day, the ants were eating and taking the bait back to their colony. However, on the second day, they stop eating the bait. So my friend told me about MIB pest control service. I went on their website and requested a quote. Lauren emailed me back within an hour. She answered all of my questions on email and we finally scheduled an appointment. Lauren is responsive and very professional. Emailed with Lauren on a Thursday and had an appointment scheduled for the next day! Zachary called prior to arrival and was right on time. We were concerned that we had a mice infestation as well as the normal ants and centipedes. Zach did a full inspection of the house and determined that we have A mouse and not MICE. This was a relief. Even though we have 2 small children he recommended mouse traps (which I was wary of) to fix the problem quickly. Within 24 hrs the mouse was caught and has been released (trap got his tail)! Zach was courteous, professional and diligent and explained everything very well. Lots of good reviews. So, it seems like my experience was an anomaly. Nonetheless, we weren't impressed. Called in December to have our new home sprayed. Person on the phone never mentioned that winter was a bad time to do it, but the tech told us as much when he showed up. We were quoted around $150 and were told the job would take about an hour. The tech showed up, absolutely wreaking of cigarette smoke, and he took 15 minutes. 15 MINUTES to do our two-story duplex. Before he sprayed, I asked whether it would mark our new hardwood floors, and he assured that it wouldn't. It did. We had a very noticeable white residue haphazardly lining every baseboard in our home for months. The real kicker is this: both the original booking agent and the tech that came out told us that our next follow-up appointment would only be around $30. The tech mentioned that we should wait until spring to do it, as winter doesn't make sense. The booking agent didn't say anything. Called today (June) to schedule to follow-up, and the phone agent very rudely informed me that there is only a 2-month window to take advantage of that deal. Not only was that the first time I'd heard that, I'd received complete misinformation from the tech. Further, how does 2 months make sense? The tech told me the spray should last 5-6 months. Why follow up just 8 weeks later? Seems like most people like this company, but I will not be giving them our business, again. read more

I can't say enough about Dan, Ray and Rod. We had a beetle infestation from 2 pieces of "diseased " wood in our basement beams that got by our builder (who is denying their responsibility!) Tech came to treat my apartment for ants that were coming in from an unknown source. The technician was both friendly and professional and explained the entire process to me beforehand. He explained the chemicals he would be using and a few other things for us to be aware of, answered all my questions and went to work on treating the areas inside and outside. We found a dead bug on our mattress and Andrew from Men In Black was very quick to respond to our inquiry on a Sunday and confirm it looked like a bed bug + provide pricing. We had an initial inspection on a Monday; and scheduled a treatment the following Friday. MIB provided a detailed check list of prep to-do's to be done prior to the treatment day (namely drying all clothes and linens on high heat and placing them in trash bags away from the infestation site, vacuuming, removing wall hangings and outlet covers etc). Our exterminator was Tyrone, who was super efficient and a great communicator before and after the treatment was completed. The 90 day warranty is contingent upon mattress encasements being put on all mattresses in the household after treatment. We've continued to wash/dry bed linens and vacuum every day. We were warned we may have continued activity 10-12 days after treatment. Sure enough, we spotted about 8 bugs (a few alive, but most of them dead) the during the week following treatment while changing our sheets. On Day 10, 11 and 12 (today) post-treatment though, no bug sightings whatsoever. We hope they are gone for good and we are thankful to Men In Black for being so responsive and helpful in our hour of need! Shout out to Andrew, Tyrone, and Kyra for all your assistance. My tech Arthur was great. He was on time. I liked that he invited me outside to show me the areas mice could get in (He found 2)(he meshed them closed)and on the inside of the house where mice could come and go. He showed me where he placed the boxes. Gave me a talk about mice behavior and when I said I can't stand mice he lightened the moment by saying humorously "Be strong."I would highly recommend this company to anyone. I've used them twice for indoor and outdoor pest control. Their techs are always on time, respectful of my home and very knowledgeable.

Now this is how a service should be! Jason, the owner, came out to my apartment on Friday and sprayed for a few different things, silver fish (disgusting), spiders (they love my $%&^ balcony) and noticed ants by my door and front step. A friend of mine and I were just BS'ing and I mentioned the silverfish and he said the normal "I got a guy" so I figured I'd call his guy and give it a shot. Checked him out on Yelp and saw the deal he had going too, that helped a lot (props to the Yelp app!)! Jason was very professional, told me exactly what he'd do and followed through promptly... And he has my kinda humor too haha! Oh, and the no contract? Thanks! I was getting tired of these other placing giving me a good quote and then saying they need multiple trips and a contract. It's only been a few days since he treated and I am not seeing ANYTHING. And now my girlfriend won't be able to make me kill spiders and silverfish every other day! The only thing I can say is "wow". I would love to give a 10 star rating if I could. I have to agree with the other reviews that this is how a business should be ran. Jason the owner came out during his promised time frame and was professional, trustworthy, friendly, knowledgeable and caring. He actually told me that what the" big name" pest control companies were going to do was a waste of my money and that I did not need all of that. He wants to help and is not just trying to take your money. Men in Black does not make you sign a year long contract like many of the other companies I called. He will come out just once if thats all you need. I thought I just had a silverfish problem, but when he inspected my home he found a wasp nest and a possible ant problem. He took care of all that and did not charge me extra. I think I can maybe start sleeping again at night. Needless to say that, Men in Black is on my speed dial and I will suggest them to everyone. They were very quick to get me in, 36 hrs I think. He was nice, came in, sprayed the baseboards and were gone in 15. I know that b/c he arrived 15 min before my next conference call. I didn't notice them plug any holes, or even ID any entry points. He didn't give me any feedback on anything he found. In total 15 min visit--$120, I still have stink bugs but those are impossible anyway. I'm not sure why it's '$120. read more

Having an issue with small ants. I tried taking care of it myself and they keep re-appearing. So I looked around and made a call. After a series of questions describing the problem, an action plan was put together with estimates on effort/time and a price quoted. The price was competitive & reasonable. An appointment was set for the next day with a 2-hour window. Was called within 10 minutes of the start of the window that they were 10 minutes out. The infestation was not as bad as expected/amount of work/material was less than anticipated, and the price was adjusted. The crew was professional, quick but seemingly thorough. Expectations were set as far as what I would and would not see. A time frame was set so that I would know when to call back for additional applications, if that would be necessary. We are dealing with poison and we have pets, both here and next store (the exterior is sprayed as well as the interior). I was reassured as to their pet-safety as well as provided with the labels of what materials were used. I suspect that this problem has been resolved; I plan to follow-up in the spring, as recommended, to ensure that it does not return. read more

I am so glad I called men in black! They delivered exactly what they promised! We had wasps building a nest in our wall right next to our front door. As I am highly allergic to bees and wasps I was becoming extremely stressed the more aggressive the wasps were becoming. My husband tried several times to spray and remove their existence. Just had a great experience with Men In Black, an extermination company based in the suburbs that had phenomenal reviews on Yelp. They got Juan out within about two hours to check out the problem and quoted me a price about a third less than any of the other companies I had talked to. Juan quickly figured out it was a single mouse and not an infestation, he found where the mouse got in (behind our stove, where the floor doesn't go all the way to the wall), and he sealed up the gap with steel wool. He answered every question and provided extra helpful information, like about which traps work best. He had great enthusiasm, which I wasn't expecting. Finally, he refused to charge me the full amount I'd been quoted on the phone. He charged about 20% of the quoted price (which was lower than any other company's quote in the first place)! He said the original quote was too much for the job he actually had to do. A price beyond fair to get the hole sealed (which I never would have known to do on my own) and for the peace of mind... I emphatically recommend Men in Black. read more

Recently discovered some carpenter bees while trying to enjoy the nice weather in our back yard. Searched Yelp...read reviews...decided to call on Tuesday. Received voicemail..left detailed message with name and phone number...repeated phone number for clarity and haven't heard back yet. Disappointing. Off to do another search and hopefully the next company will call me back. ***update*** What a fast change of heart 1 star to 5 stars....Once the owner, Jason, explained that they had experienced phone issues and were trying to reach everyone....I knew that customer service truly IS a priority for this company. I called and he said he could stop by on Saturday. Imagine my surprise when he stopped by this evening and took care of the problem in 10 mins. NO CHARGE!!!! Refused to let me pay. Granted, it was fast, but he had travel time and many more customers to visit after their phone fiasco. I am truly impressed. I didn't get the name of the other gentleman that was here with Jason, but they were both friendly and fast. We will definitely recommend them to everyone we know. read more

Great, quick turnaround and great customer service. Called at 5:30pm on a Friday about some gigantic wasps we found in the yard and we had someone there at 7am on Saturday. Another company I had reached out to finally called me back around 9am Monday and I was pleased to tell them "Oh, we took care of it already. Nevermind!" The tech was professional and friendly and knew immediately what type of pest we were dealing with and how to eliminate it. He also offered helpful and cost effective suggestions to upkeep the elimination without having to continue to call them and get billed for service. He was just honest, which I appreciated. Had an immediate need to eliminate a yellow jacket nest in the siding of my house that allowed entry into my house. Called Men in Black on Sat. Afternoon and they had a tech out on Sunday afternoon. The woman on the phone was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Tom, the technician, was extremely professional and stayed for at least an hour until he had sufficiently treated the nest. I can't tell you how pleasant it was to deal with a company who actually still puts the customer first. We made an appointment for between 9-11 am and they were here promptly at 9 am On a Saturday morning !!!! The man was very polite and professional and gave us an honest opinion and didn't try to rope us into a program or sell us a bunch of garbage we didn't need. He worked quickly and we didn't feel as if we were taken advantage of as far as payment. I had service after some time due to the pandemic. My tech arrived, didn't know what he was here to treat (mice and spiders). He performed indoor services then told me he was fimished with outdoor also. I didn't see him actually do the outdoor services. I paid and was told I'd receive a receipt and copy of where mouse traps were set. Five minutes later he was back at the door stating he locked his keys in his van and oops he does it all the time. Fast forward two hours and a tow truck to unlock door...oops I actually didn't do the outside work so I'll do that now. We have always had decent service from MIB but in calling AAREN pest control two weeks later, my mouse issue was found and there were baits left at the entry point welcoming them I'm that MIB had left. I'm told that's often something that happens to welcome back service calls. I also realized not a spider web had been touched. Needed an exterminator for ants as I called my trusted Terminix and they would not budge on the price for a returning customer. I then called Men In Black on a Friday. Not only was Megan courteous, but she was able to schedule me on a Sunday before Memorial Day! I called and immediately the driver came within 15 mins. The window was from 9am-11am and arrived around 10:30am. Upon the service call Zach did an excellent job and is very knowledgeable. No worries with this company at all. Did an excellent job on listening and diagnosing my issues. He even took his shoes off before he entered the house. We instructed him to spray our downstairs location only and did a great job spraying the outside as well. He would have taken the time to do the entire house (upstairs) if required. He was here roughly an hour. Did a great job of explaining everything from different pest that could be an issue to the chemicals they used. Sprayed inside of our house and moved some furniture and also even cleaned my patio sliding sill with a paper towel before cleaning! Provided not only a physical receipt, but an e-receipt for my records. Price was very reasonable after the coupon was applied. They are licensed!!!! Yay! Bees are gone. We were scared that they will go into the house after nesting under the bottom of the siding (we have vinyl on top of old wood siding) and other nest in the corner of garage roof. Luckily I found these guys, they scheduled quickly and arrived on time. Jason explained about the job and what to expect and was done in a few minutes - sprayed some material and asked for payment. Bees were circling around the nests but did not like the poison and after 24 hours I do not see them anymore. I did not want to have them killed as bees are important for our food chain, but when they are a threat to the house, we have to take action. Jason explained that it is very hard to get the beekeeper out and to have him relocate them. Overall we are happy with the job and would recommend and use them again. Thank You read more

I contacted MIB based on Yelp reviews. I called, left a message, and was contacted that same day. An appointment was arranged and they came the following day WITHIN the two hour time frame. Rod and Blake are very kind, down to earth guys. They told me like it was and I didn't get the sense that they were trying to rip me off, to say the least. Reason for my call, I had bees coming in and out of small cracks in the exterior of my home. They came, assessed the situation, and provided me quote which was reasonable. I also received $30 off as a new customer. They used a dust in the cracks and that same day there was a noticeable decrease in the amount of bees flying around my home. Three days later there are still no signs of bees. I am very satisfied with MIB and highly recommend them to those in need of bee/insect removal. They have 5 star Yelp reviews for a reason! read more
