I live in CB but had to venture out to this Menards to purchase some motorcycle oil as I bought out the Menards in CB and I needed more. They had all the oil that I needed in basically the same location as the Menards in CB, which was convenient. It was all a smooth transaction: I walked in, looked at the app to see where I needed to go, grabbed my oil, made the purchase, and walked out. I placed my first online order when I went to the customer service desk the associate acted as if it was a tremendous inconvenience to point me to the back of the store. Omce I received my order I was in my way out and another associate grabbed my paper work and snatched off the print out (receipt sized)stapled to the printed form. I asked about the reciept he said the paper I had was the receipt but it clearly stated it was NOT. whe I reported his attitude to the manager he acted as if he didn't care that someone had a bad experience in the store. My review focuses on lumber options. When comparing Lowe's, Home Depot, and Menards, it depends on what you need as to which you should go to. If you need pine 2x4s or 2x6s, Menards is not the place. They focus on better quality lumber. Unlike Lowe's/Home Depot, Menards carries poplar, red oak, maple, mahogany, and other hardwood at various sizes. They are well priced. Plywood at Menards is also much, much better and cheaper. You can get refinished c3 Birch for less than the junk at the other stores. Menards has different qualities of plywood at great prices. I prefer HD for tools and dimensional construction lumber, but Menards for everything else. Menards does not have a military discount like the others. read more

so i purchased a snow blower off their website and was warned that I was buyiing a floor model. I was like ok... right before a snow storm. take what you can get. i was assured that the unit would be assembled and even though it was not in the original shipping package. I would receive everything with it. I asked the lady when I picked it up. how do we know if it runs...... she went well if it doesnt. bring it back. so low and behold damn thing doesn't run i put gas and oil iinto the unit. Over the years I've gone to Home Depot and Lowe's, but Menards has become my regular place to go for hardware. I like their selection and prices. The only thing I don't like is the horrible way the streets are set up in this area. Getting in is usually not a problem, but exiting can often be a nightmare. read more

It pains me to write this review as Menards has been one of my favorite stores for years now. in the past year I have had more problems with them than I have in all the 30 years I've been shopping at Menards. No one seems to know what they are talking about and I placed a large order for delivery for drywall and insulation. They asked me what room I wanted it placed in and gave the gentleman the information. The delivery guy comes and says they only leave it in your driveway. So I call Menards and get the tired answer of do you know who placed your delivery order. Last week was Told they couldn't do phone orders so I tell my client that and my client then calls themselves and is told no problem, 2 days later again they tell me we can't do orders over the phone and my client again calls in and they took th order over the phone. Is anyone on the same page about anything? Came here to order cabinets for a small kitchen redo and I asked why she was pricing the most expensive cabinets and she said I'm not I know how this system works....surprise surprise when the manager came over and told her it was completely wrong and my cabinets i was going to be charged for was $3100 more than the ones I wanted. Just be careful who you listen to and whatever they tell you better be in writing. read more

I like Menards. It is a very large store though so if you aren't up for a walk consider a rider cart. My sister and her husband love to come here when visiting. It sells hardware, paint, food, toys, plants, out door furniture, flooring to name some. I like their selection of light fixtures. And their prices are usually good especially if you mail in the rebate offer they have going g most of the time (11% of your purchase on most things.) Recently I did my first pick up on something we ordered while in the store. They sent an email with a code and the order number. The instructions say go to the yard gate and scan your code to enter then follow the orange signs to the order pick up area. FYI there are no signs until you actually are at the pick up sign. No worries though it's pretty easy just enter the gate. It's on the south side of the store. Then drive to the end of the building and turn right. Drive for quite a ways (don't give up) and you will see the orange pick up sign above the door. To the left are parking stalls if you call the number on the sign they will bring to you. Just keep a heads up for fork lifts and customers the yard is a busy place! The person who brought my order was very friendly. read more

Don't rent a carpet cleaning machine! We put a lot of effort into making sure it was spotless when we turned it in. Customer Service grabbed the machine right away and turned it upside down to show specs of dirt up behind the beater bar. Said... That will be a cleaning charge of $21.00!! Not a spec of dust in the water tank and not a hair on the beater bar. We cleaned the hell out of it. She knew right where to check and immediately turned it upside down. We never turned the whole machine upside down!! What a scam!!! read more

I would have given these guys a 5, due to all the excellent help I received from a few people, but due to my experience with the first and second associates I encountered, I have to give them three stars. First associate: His cart was blocking the main aisle. He begrudgingly moved it out of my way so I could get through. I asked him where to find the gate latches. I received an exasperated look and he pointed me up an aisle, which turned out to be two aisles away. It still took me a bit to find the area they were located. I think he could a) not block main aisles, b) be more friendly (at least pretending he wanted to help a customer), c) not give me a frustrated look when I asked for assistance, and d) the item being so close, he could have taken me there so I didn't continue to have to search for it. I would say he was in his mid-40s, tinge of grey on black hair, short, slightly heavyset, not in a good mood. After I found the latches I needed, I asked the help of an older gentlemen, describing what else I needed. He went to find someone that could help me, but he never returned. I then got help from a 30-something associate I tagged, and I had to re-explain to him what I wanted. I then went to the customer service desk in the S.E. corner of the store, and received EXCELLENT assistance from a 20-something associate (Wayne?), who led me to several areas for most of what else I needed, and pointed me in the right direction for the last item. I then went to the lumber yard for my last item, and had an 8' cedar 2x4 custom cut for me. Three VERY HELPFUL associates assisted me with this. read more

This place is the only big box hardware store in the Bellevue area so there's really nothing to else to compare it to. Their selections are above average, but what really gets me is the inconsistency in customer service. I've experienced both ends of this spectrum; great service in the plumbing and lighting area...but horrible service by the hardware (nuts & bolts) area. It will show you in bolt print the price of something then you think it's a great deal then you go in store to get said item then it's anywhere from 5-25$ more than the website. I'm so glad I'm getting out of the Midwest and away from Menards. This place sucks. It's hard to find anything in this store and nobody is there to help. When you finally do find someone to help you after searching for 20 minutes, they basically tell you the area that it's around and don't help much after that. Then when they write up a delivery order for you, their computer glitches and they have to write up another one. Then when the materials show up at your door step, the order they re-wrote is completely wrong. You'd think they'd literally copy the order word for word but no they're not competent enough to do that. Then you are forced to go back to this terrible place to tell them what they did wrong and wait a couple more weeks for the materials to show up. Then their return policy is garbage. Say you have a big project and you have to get materials beforehand to get started. Then the people you hire can't do the job for a bit because they're backed up. Understandable. So when they finally finish the project, there's a bunch of materials left over for you to return. Great! I get money back! No!!! They require you to return said materials within 90 days in order to get money back or you're stuck with store credit, requiring you come back to this gawd awful place to buy more stuff to get your money's worth. I paid with a debit card, meaning cash. I should be able to return my stuff and get money back for it and not store credit. I can understand 180 days, but 90?! Give me a break. read more

They have a lot of inventory. Their building materials are largely subpar. The way they are set up, there is absolutely no respect for a contractors time. The customer service is maybe a 2 out of 10. I live south of Belleveue off 75 and can drive to Lowe's or hHome Depot in Papillon purchase and load my materials and be back on a job in my neighborhood quicker than picking it up at Menards. My commercial sized freezer decided to stop working. Looked all over for one and finally found one at this store large enough to fit my needs. Arrived at the store and they wheeled it out and we loaded in the back of my truck. After it was loaded i noticed a dent on the front of the door and scratches on the side in which i pointed out to the gentleman who was helping, He stated that he would call someone appliances to see if they'd be willing to take some money off the sale. He also made me aware that the unit was being used internally. Sure would've been nice to know this before i paid for it and had it loaded. He made a call to someone in appliances to see about getting a credit and was told they could give me $10 off the purchase price. Needless to say this wasn't worth my time to go back in the store for. Just shows you how these large stores don't give a crap about making things right. I was in a bind and feel they took advantage of my situation. I implore you to go to Lowes or another hardware store and avoid Menards at all cost. If this would've happened Lowes they would've taken 40-50% off the purchase price. Never again Menards! read more

Spent over $3k on appliances here, paid for delivery and install. The refrigerator I purchased was installed incorrectly resulting in over $7k in water damage to my home. The installer, who is a vendor of Menards, refuses to rectify the situation. Menards has no customer service number, complaints have to be handwritten and mailed in. Got a one line response back saying they don't do installations so they don't guarantee the work. In my experience the vendors Menards sets you up with are incompetent and unprofessional, worse Menards won't step on their customers behalf when things go wrong. Dusty the general manager is a nice enough guy, but be aware Menards approach to customer issues is to pretty much throw up their hands and say there is nothing they can do. I guess it's what I get for trying to shop local retail. It will be Amazon next time as they stand by their products and services. read more

The is a store with a personality disorder. It truly doesn't know what it wants to be. Labeled as a hardware store and the selection of those items is decent, but not as extensive as perhaps you would find in a Lowes or Home Depot. Then you have all this miscellaneous material in the store as well, the food, cleaning supplies, videos, books.......it just doesn't go well together. Don't know if they are trying to cross themselves between Lowes/Home Depot and Walmart/Kmart/Target or not, but it comes across a bit dysfunctional. Store is clean and the employees have been helpful, but I have noticed when asking for technical advice for home projects, their knowledge and presentation has not been as good as that which I have received from Lowes employees. read more

They do have great prices and the best time to shop is when they are offering the 11% teenage on everything. I would also give higher ratings of they offered dyi classes. Had a very nice experience at Menards tonight. We needed an obscure light bulb, & the light dept. guy helped us find it. We needed a can of paint matched. The paint lady scanned the color & mixed it. It came out lumpy, so she threw it out & started over. She said sometimes there's a bad can. The second one was a tiny bit dark, & she offered to mix it again, but I was ok with the color. Being unable to wear masks because of a medical condition, I use the service of them pulling my items and picking them up in the yard and have been doing this ever since the mask mandate. I pay the extra just to not have to wear a mask. The gentleman who helped me today in the yard to pick up my two orders was very rude and unkempt. Thankfully, the manager stepped in after I told the gentleman how rude he was. 2 items I had ordered were back-ordered and the rude man had shown that I had picked them up as well. I noticed this before I left the yard and told the attendant. He advised me to go in to the front desk to be helped and also advised that it would probably be best to go in in person even though I asked if I could do it over the phone due to the mask requirement. I begrudgingly went in the building and waited in line until it was my turn and I started to explain that I wanted to cancel these 2 items and be refunded as she slides a mask towards me. I politely push it back and tell her thank you but I don't need one. She said, "I am sorry, but I can't help you unless you wear the mask." in a very dismissive tone as if she were speaking to a child. I told her no, I will not and she needs to resolve my issue and then I will leave. We went round and round for about a minute or more, where a manager came out to see what was going on as I was starting to get pretty upset and told her if she did not resolve my issue, this was theft. I told her that I cannot wear a mask due to medical reasons and she just kept saying that is their policy and refused to assist me. As her manager neared, she took a different tone, asking me to please put the mask on. Her manager came to my rescue and said to her that I was not in the store so technically I didn't have to wear the mask and he took over. I mentioned to him the reason I use the pick up service is to avoid this issue I just had and that I pay extra to not have this problem and I would probably not be back, ever. He didn't even acknowledge my issue or apologize. I did inform the other customer service representative that she should not have this job. He processed my refund and I left. I went home after that and it pretty much ruined my afternoon. I had went to Ace Westlake earlier that day and they were wonderful, no issue with my lack of mask. Looks like I will be shopping there instead. Lowe's is also great about not hassling people about masks. And Home Depot never once has said anything to me in their outside garden department. I found the staff very friendly, but not helpful at all. I started my day in the morning around 9 am getting baseboard and found one of the sizes I had purchased online were all water stained. When I asked staff about it I was simply referred to a different store. I shrugged this off since I could work around the effected area. Later around noon I went to rent a nail gun to affix the now cut baseboards. The first time I went I asked for one that didn't need canisters (I have no idea what I'm looking for as I've never done this) and was rented one that apparently does need an air compressor. When I returned that I found the cordless one I was looking for, despite being told on the phone the store didn't carry them. When I got it home, after fighting with the directions to figure it out, I found I was not given fuel canisters. When I went to return it, again, I was informed I was supposed to purchase them. I was never asked if I needed to add them to my purchase, never saw any signs or anything alerting me to this, the only thing I was informed I needed was my own nails which I did purchase so I wasted another trip. By this time it's now 2:30 and my window for working is gone as I have things to do. I don't expect everyone to be an expert who works there but if I'm new to this, as I told them, then I don't appreciate being thrown into renting my equipment blind. read more

We purchased custom cabinets and custom quartz countertops for our wet bar. Mere Bradley in the cabinet department won our business when she used her design software to quickly show us options and help us achieve what we were looking for. We had previously tried this at Home Depot and Lowe's and neither store had anyone working in that department and it was impossible to get any help. The process for ordering cabinets and counters at Menard's was seamless. Before the counters were cut to specs, we were given a high quality plastic template to put in place and ensure everything would line up perfectly. We were disappointed that the cabinets arrived 10 days later than we were told which caused us to have to reschedule our installer twice. Additionally, we had arranged for Menard's to deliver the cabinets but when they showed up, the driver explained he was a 3rd party contractor and was only required to drop off the cabinets on my driveway (seriously?!) and asked me to pay him cash on the spot in order for him to set them inside my front door. I fully believe this was a way for him to get extra cash under the table, but I was accepting the delivery on my lunch break from work with no time to object, nor could I physically carry the cabinets inside myself. This aspect of the experience felt shady, but if it's true that Menard's delivery service will only leave things on the driveway, I'd ask that to be clarified to customers ahead of time. Been doing business with them for almost 10 years. Some employees don't care and they don't know their products. Others are friendly and knowledgeable but those are few are far between. Had an item delivered to my home and they simply left it outside in the rain; didn't even call. Item also arrived damaged after we carefully inspected it. If we didn't need the item so badly we would have returned it. Prices are not that good either. Will be spending more time at Lowe's and Home Depot from now on. read more

i am doing multiple home upgrades on my home. i purchased tile, vanity, lighting,sink, countertop, toilet, tub and shower surround, plus all small fixtures for a bathroom remodel . these items were bought earlier. all that was left was the wall trim and baseboard etc. after selecting the needed items they were pulled and left for my 55 year old, 105 lb. wife to transport to checkout. these items were somewhat heavy and bulky and long. wouldnt you think the employee that pulled items or someone would have helped her? eventually everything toppled over by checkout. the head cashier said---we do have flat carts good bye menards hello lowes read more
