Pretty much you can find everything here. Has a moving sidewalk for the second floor. Very clean and organized I think they said this is the largest Menard around a million square feet. One think wish there were more help. You can wander in this store for hours.

I like Menards grocery section and usually purchase cases of water. I do buy some of their other food items like peanuts. Upon my last visit I found the mice or rats like them too. This can happen anywhere but I hope they get them removed asap

Menards is having a grand opening and it definitely is not to be missed. Finally, gone are the days of the drab and mundane home improvement centers. This new bi-level home improvement megastore not only has the typical plant and hardware suspects, it boasts a full line of groceries (packaged goods and refrigerated), household cleaning supplies, clothing, kitchen and bath showrooms and much, much more. It is truly a synergy of a hardware store, Super Target, Duluth, and Walmart all bundled together. The grocery and packaged product selections are plentiful and the prices are extremely reasonable, as many of them are substantially cheaper than other mainstream stores. Some items have even deeper discounts as a result of the grand opening, therefore it will be interesting to learn how much the price points may creep once the grand opening euphoria has waned. Stop by and plan to spend time meandering the extensive aisles of both the grocery and hardware sections. Come witness for yourself how Menards has truly fast-tracked to remain a relevant retailer. Also, be sure to visit the 2nd floor which is accessible via a people mover.....yes...similar to those found at the airport. NOTE: The people mover is slightly steep, therefore please take special care with carts, young children and the elderly and make sure to use the hand rail. This mega Menards is hands-down another welcomed addition to the new and evergrowing business pool in Vernon Hills. With a refreshed business profile and strategic store layout, Menards definitely needs to become a regular shopping spot.

Everything is labeled "Vegetables," but you have to examine the little pot tags if you want to know WHICH veggies. Inconvenient!

My mom's having some home renovations done, so the other day we checked out both Menards and Home Depot to shop for doors and garage doors that will compliment the new look. We weren't thrilled by anything they had, so moved on to the plants (annuals and vegetables). Though the garden area is seemingly organized, selection was limited and many plants were on the sad side. We gave up on the veggies when it was clear all the signage was generic. Who wants to dig through the pots for those little plastic tags? No thanks! The Home Depot labels their plants very well, so flowers and veggies were procured there. We ended up purchasing a(n, IMO, waaaaay overpriced) fire pit and a really sturdy/heavy/fairly priced 5 piece patio set. Chris helped us by not only checking their inventory, but another store's as well (if we got the set at this Menard's, we'd have to take 3 of the floor model chairs). He called the other store twice and was just really helpful and curteous. At checkout, we were also offered help out to our car - it was nice to have another set of hands help lift the fire pit in! I WISH they had more floor models of the boxed items: the fire pit dimensions were difficult to picture and decide on without seeing them. Aside from that and the poorly labeled plants, everything else was A-Ok.

Made to feel like a criminal when trying to return two special order boards from the Long Grove Menards to the new Vernon Hills store. Before trying to return, confirmed twice with Long Grove location that special orders could be returned to any Menards location. Vernon Hills front desk employee, Sandra,(said she was a Manager) told me they don't take returns of special orders from other stores, in a very unpleasant manner. I called the manager from Long Grove to talk with her but she walked away and told me she called the manager, Brian. He too was very unwilling to help me and was rude, telling me they didn't have to take such returns. He unwillingly agreed to give me a store credit but then it took four people to figure out how to generate such a receipt. Lousy customer service!!

Menards products are fine, but as a company they have horrible customer service. Beware.

My suggestion is not to order online and pick up. They will charge you a very hefty re-stocking fee.

Today, in the store, when I needed it to find the aisle and location of a product, homedepot.com refused to come uip on my phone - instead I got a message that the "app is out-of-date". I don't know cell phones from space rockets. Jim figured out that the phone app had started to update but in the middle of updating. He asked what I was looking for and then escorted me to exactly where TSP (Trisodium Phosphate) cleaning products were. Home Depot has abandoned the true TSP (the dry granular crystals) and now only carries the TSP solution or a fake product that has no phosphate (phosphate is what does the cleaning). Which is a shame, but the Algonquin Home Depot gets 5 stars from me because Jim got my phone app updated and was knowledgeable on the TSP situation.

I asked the store associate and was told to purchase that item I had to scan the barcode on the display, buy it online, and go up to the service desk. Someone will go unlock the cage and I'll get my item. Piece of cake? Sounds simple right, nope. I did everything the employee told me to place the order, and headed to the service desk to pick up. No issues with placing the order. Immediately, the woman at the desk told me there's a 2 hour wait on online pickups. I explained to her that I'm a person standing in front of her, that came to the store, and not a person shopping online. I WENT online, yes, to order the item, as your associate said I had to per your system. Nobody told me - not the associate or the sign I scanned - that there could be up to a 2 hour wait. How is anybody supposed to know that who's in the STORE purchasing items? I'm not online. If you want to lock things up for security reasons, KEEP TRACK OF THEM. When somebody is buying something in your store, physically, in person, you cannot say they are an online order that has to wait 2 hours. It doesn't help that I have severe anxiety, and was shopping at 6am so I could get off the roads ASAP and get home before morning traffic got bad. I finally got my item after waiting about a half hour for multiple people to check multiple cages, top stock - all kinds of places were checked. This security system has existed my entire 42 year life. You take the paper ticket for the expensive items up to the desk where you wait a couple minutes and they grab it from the secure area. That's the system, simple, been in place since at least the 80s. Why can't you figure it out here in 2026?
