I have shopped at Menards for over a decade. Mark in electrical went so far beyond to help us. He explained everything and was very patient!! He went above and beyond!! He is a huge asset to this company!! All Menards store need people like him! The reason I am giving 1 star is because we order a stove and it was damaged bad. The manager refused to see us and would not compensate for anything!! They are the most RUDE people to deal with!!! Buy all your appliances some where else!!! read more

I've been to this Menards plenty of times now. It's a busy place, it's got alot of inventory and literally almost everything imaginable! Even groceries! There isn't too much name brand stuff at Menards but it's a smart strategy every time I came in randomly browsing the store. I needed Menards for tools, ladders, plumbing purposes and things that I just wanted to get. Prices are fair, they usually have a rebate sale or something of that sort going on. I decided after several years to finally remodel my kitchen. I ordered my cabinets and countertops from Menards. They have their own brand of cabinets and counters. After receiving damaged parts and shorted several items in my cabinet order, along with several attempts to get the template and measurements correct for the countertops, about a month in the countertops arrived. When the cab counter tops were laid down The cut at the scenes did not match perfectly along with the shading and veining of the counters. it was very obvious that the 2 pieces were cut from different slabs. The company claims that in its literature it specifically says that the cut pieces will not match Along with when they cut out for the sink it's not going to be a clean-cut. There's also about a one and a half large chip along the overhang of the counter. After going round and round on this situation the solution to from them is to bring in the countertop that has been glued down on top of the cabinets and of course a backsplash has been put in along with a sink already installed. Menards has its own form that you fill out for items that can't be returned to the store because they're already installed. The store manager themselves saw the pictures of the issue and even said that it shouldn't look that way. It is obvious that quality and customer service is not a concern to menards. read more

I use hardwood pellets for cat litter cause my wife and I rescue cats on occasion and this keeps costs down while saving animals. I've never paid this much for pellets. I took 2 taped up damaged bags to help the store and 2 regular bags. When at the register I asked if manager could give me a discount and pointed out I took damaged bags too and my reason for using pellets out of season. Manager Katie was unwilling to help me in any way. Katie should be fired. This unfortunate incident occurred Memorial Day Monday 5-27-19 around 10:15 am Register 1 or 2 can't remember Pellets are generally used for pellet stove heating and are out of season in Illinois and also will likely sit there till winter nears. Manager Katie should be fired and replaced with a competent manager. read more

Worst experience ever at this Menards store! ordered thousands of dollars worth of fence panels and paid online only to rent a truck and arrive at the store to pick them up and we were told they must gave just sold them to someone else ?!? After I paid for them ?!? So at menards you pay online for pick up in store but if someone comes in before you get there too bad ...they sell it to them and you are out of luck even though you purchased it already ?! Horrible policy ! The workers also had no idea how to solve the problem or any knowledge about how to handle it. They just said they were sorry and it happens ?!? This SHOULD NOT happen ! Ordered almost $3,000 worth of lumber (which was only aprox 30 6x6's and some 2x12's) 5-30-21. Sent a truck with a paid employee to pick it up and he asked for help as he shouldnt lift anything heavy and one young man came out to help then walked away, (which was verified by back end manager Tyler via his cameras when i called to complain today) and my guy had to call another employee of mine to help load. I called and told Tyler my displeasure and he basically said sorry, Its self serve! Read the bottom of the order and it says "Menards Team member will gladly help you load". just a heads up NEVER buy a gasoline powered anything at Menards . I bought a mower there and the piece of crap worked about an hour then quit, they wont return anything that has had fuel put in it so I have to take it to a repair center. It has been repaired and I cant go get it because the repair center has to wait for approval on the repair, It should take about a week to a week and a half. . and my grass wont stop growing even though I explained to it not to grow without approval. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. I guess they can see the panic in my eyes when I walk in. I have my list and I generally have no idea where anything is. Boom!!! An employee walks by. The lady ( I am so sorry that I forgot your name ) stopped what she was doing and helped me find everything on my list. When she saw her boss she informed him that she was helping me find what I need and that she will be back in her section in a bit. The manager was really cool about that. I mean, he probably saw the dread in my eyes also. So, now I have everything I need. I am off to learn how to change a light switch and do lite plumbing work. The review I am writing happened a couple years ago. I was accused for the first time in my life by an overzealous security guard of trying to steal Frontline which had been smashed unfortunately by the several bags of rocks I had on a flatbed cart. I was so embarrassed by the whole thing it never occurred to me to have the manager called I walked back in the store as if I was going to pay for it only to find out the security guard called the police long story short it didn't go very far but suffice it to say I never shop there again I was never so embarrassed in my life until that day I have spent over $15,000 at Menards for them to think that I would try and still a $40 item was a joke I am an electrical contractor and to this day I trash Menards and will continue to do so I have gotten a lot of people to start shopping at Home Depot and Lowe's word of mouth is the best advertisement read more

Bought a $350 electric start Remington lawn mower. First time I used it the blade came loose and bent when it hit the ground. Menards wouldn't take it back because they have a 7 day return policy on gas powered tools. Had to take time off of work to bring it to authorized repair place 40 miles away. What a crock!!! This is the worst Menards I have ever been to. We spent almost 1300$ there and wanted to return our couch and love seat and get a new set due to damage when we got it. We were told to use OUR extended warranty that we bought for them. Which isn't right because it only covers up to the price of the furniture and after that it's done. There was no reason for us to use our warranty on damage done before we got it. I then asked if they could pick it up and send a new one, I was told they would just give us 20$ off each, if I wanted that I would have asked for that, I wanted my couch fixed. I called as soon as I unpackaged them to report the damage. Well I was told to go to Bolingbrook location, well at that point I was going to have to pay another delivery fee to get a new set and a fee for the driver to put them inside my house, which was 70$ for the delivery and 20$ for the handling fee after I already paid 50$ for the delivery and 20$ for the handling fee from Joliet. Well, the employees at Bolingbrook waved the delivery fee for me and I only paid 20$. I'm so greatly for the customer service at Bolingbrook location and I'll NEVER shop at Menards in Joliet ever again. (Erin is the person I spoke with and she pretty much didn't care at all.) I will be filing a complaint at corporate on the Joliet location and the manager I spoke with. read more
