We ordered a heater online before this year's ice storm. We called ahead and ensured that they had the item before ordering. They held the order for us as they sold out very quickly. I do feel that they should have stocked up with a lot more prior to the ice storm that everyone knew was coming. However despite this, they did well with the overall service. The value was fair and not overly priced. The employees was very helpful and nice! Was great to get what we needed when we needed it. However we was grateful that we didn't have to use it. The service was absolutely disgusting, every single employee interaction was horrible. They were all extremely rude and treated me and my mother like garbage. I'm very happy with Menard's. The place is huge and I haven't even had the chance to explore the whole store yet but I look forward to it. I've found they have tons of stuff I can use or can't use but want anyways and have found their prices to be reasonable. I've had nothing but fantastic experiences at this location in terms of their customer service. They've helped me with my little DIY project, provided great customer service when I messed up on cutting my lumber, and have shown care when instructing me on how to use their self service saw. Abismal online order support. Every time I order from this location, my card gets charged but when I arrive they will not let me take my order. Every lower-level employee I spoke/interacted with was phenomenal, namely Casey Welch, who was incredibly apologetic and considerate given my circumstance and even guided me on the next steps to take moving forward. However, when I went to speak to a member of management named Michelle, I was told to go online and refund the order myself, place another order and get charged hundreds of dollars a second time, and then I could take my order. Until then, I'd have to unload all the product in my truck back to its respective location and either wait for the refund to go through or leave. No alternative options nor any form of compensation given, just deplorable customer service from management. read more

The employees at this store are so disrespectful and lazy. The management is not much better and the GM Zach likes make everyone feel insufficient to him. He talks to the employees and staff in ways that makes them feel belittled. He is always right and you are always wrong. GM Zach has a way of making a customer feel uncomfortable when shopping in his store. This store needs a management overhaul. This look is not good for business. read more

careful in Owensboro. I purchased two advertised locks. advertised as same as Schlage $134 for $59. I had already purchased the $134 and had not installed. I picked up at the store. No similarities other than a keypad. prepaid and they wouldn't take it off my bill until I paid two $25 restocklong fee's. $50 for them and I hadn't left the store. I just took the two cheap locks and took them to the Evansville store where I was given a $120 store credit. the manager wouldn't tell me his name and put his hand over his name badge so I couldn't see it. I had recently bought a basic White-Wire Shelving piece & it was like 3Inches too long. So I go to MENARDS & the first two people working there are like well we don't cut this type of thing Give me a break, it's a wildly simple task. So I get pushed to this self-saw option I go there & the guy looks at it like I am asking him to figure out & explain to me the Spacetime Continuum... Then says see if Hardware can help, so I go there & find Zach who was freaking killer... "He's like that's it?"; Yeah we will fix ya up. He treats the problem as it should be treated... Its a devastatingly easy request, walks us over to bolt-cutters & :15 seconds later DONE... Whatever your paying Zach it isn't enough, killer job & made a simple task a simple fix... The worse customer service, I'm not sure why they have employees anywhere other than the registers. They don't want to help you and if you happen to track one of them down they can't help you and they are mad you talked to them. Menards has EVERYTHING!! It's been a few years since I've moved from Owensboro, but whenever I'm in visiting my parents, we sometimes end up at Menards. It's hard to describe what Menards is. I would say it's a cross between a Lowes & Walmart. They've got the outdoor, lawn & garden stuff, but they also sell home stuff. You can buy laundry detergent, brick pavers & shutter nails. They've got it all. I'm not sure what they don't have. You can get your outside space designed at their design center. They've also got there you get a certain amount pack on a rebate. The last time we were there we got an 11 percent back on a rebate. You stop but the customer service center & get the forms to get the rebate. You are able to spend the rebate on future purchase at Menards. We stopped in a on a Saturday morning & were able to use the automated propane tank dispenser to change out empty tanks & get new ones. They system is available 24/7 it said. We also went inside to look for folding chairs my parents needed & found an associate by the name of John who was very helpful. He helped us find the folding lawn chair section and also the shutter nails that we needed. If you've got an hour to kill, this place is a great place to look around at all the stuff they sell & stuff you'll need once you know it's available. read more

Today I walked in the store to purchase a home security camera, I walk in and before I've even made my way to the isle there were several workers watching/following me. They called security on me for no apparent reason and security, as well as a group of workers, followed me to the checkout and watched as I paid for my item and left. I feel like I might be the first white person to get racially profiled. Terrible service, extremely unnecessary. If I could vote less than one star I would. read more

Avoid Menards Owensboro Store and any dealings with Dale Hendricks (store Manager). There is 0% customer support or concern for the customer at this store. I was in the store and the sink I needed was not in stock. While in the store I placed an order online for the sink, but less than 2 hours later found the sink at another store. I called the store manager and cancelled my order, but the manager failed to actually cancel the order. The sink shipped and I was charged a 25% restock fee. I was told by Dale that I should have called the store, and then emailed the manager after the call to cancel to ensure that they had done their job. I was then told that because I failed to call, email, and get her contact information that he didn't believe that I had cancelled the order. He stated that all customers say that they cancel things and actually are not honest about it. How is that for customer service. I can tell you that I will be spending my money at Lowes and Home Depot in the future. read more

Ignore paid reviews for this store, and look online where this store is horrible with customer service and policies. They force In Store Gift Cards on you even when you paid with a combination of Cash / In Store credit during the original purchase. I purchased approximately $137 worth of items from them prior to Christmas. I received one of the items as a Christmas gift, the next day, so I thought I'd return the item I had purchased myself to get my cash back. It was valued at $109. When I returned the item they forced the entirety of the $47 Gift Card BACK on me prior to receiving the difference in Cash. In other words .... they kept my money and forced me to re-use the original $47 in store credit on other items. I originally paid $90 in cash and the difference was the $47 Gift Card for the item and a few other small items I had purchased. Upon returning the $109 item ... they forced the $47 gift card BACK on me, and only gave me $62 back in cash! See my argument and problem with this? This is a shady business practice. The worst service ever. I had to walk to construction 3 times to get concrete. Im 72, can't pick it up...so I was trying to find help loading it. They were very rude, didn't ever say one nice thing, then cashier was same way...only good event was the loader, very nice friendly young man. Man this store needs some serious customer service training. I'll go to Home Depot when I can but Menards has more products...fortunately the Evansville store is much much better. read more

I like the 11% rebates that they offer. I don't mind wondering around endlessly trying to find what I'm looking for. The big issue is when you need to buy lumber. You have to go to the farthest depths of the store ( like going to Wal-Mart for milk) just to get to the desk to try to tell them what you want. After repeating myself countless time, I get a ticket to take to the regester up front. Paying was not bad. The guy was good at his job. Then drive out back , show ticket to the lost soul at the gate. They give poor directions on where my stuff is located, Drive to area I was told. Look up and down, back and forth. Nothing. Try to find some help, One guy texting while sitting on a forklift. As I approach, He hauls ass. I say F@ck it and return to the gate, I let the guy look through my truck like i stole something. He has just as hard time finding my order in my truck as I did on their lot. After he looks I tell him I couldn't find anything I needed and was going to get my money back. Went to Lowes where I don't expect any help but at least I can find what I need. This store is in Owensboro Ky. read more

I am a contractor that has been going to this store since it opened and I wont any more. It has become ridiculous. Always a problem and an argument to get it taken care of. This store has ruined orders worth thousands damaging them an taking forever to reorder. Loading wrong things on to trucks, picking up and sending wrong things to jobs, then refusing to take things back because some are opened. With receipt! When they loaded up wrong colors shingles or smashed corners of entire stacks of roofing metal worth five figures! Bought their entire line of Master force tools and had a circular saw go out and they were trying to refuse to take it back because it had scratches on the bottom of the base. Under warranty ??? Trigger was shorting out. Send three colors of ridge caps to a job with a different color of shingle. Store is full of entitled jerks that have no idea what they are doing or talking about. The attitudes in this place are the most unprofessional i have ever seen in my very busy 24 year career. Do yourself a favor Owensboro and let this crap show phase out of our town. They cause us problems, time, and money and give us so much crap and attitude about it. Not just me either but several colleagues. I've been more than patient and understanding with them with the chances and forgiveness, because they have helped me out with great prices on clearance windows,doors etc., but let me tell you that is just because of store policy on what to do with their screwups that caused other people headaches. I've been on other crews in different cities and never had these problems with their Menards. This one doesnt have much of a team spirit. It's always I just work here, or blame placing each other, managers who talk under there breath to an employee and just walk off. I was told for the first year that they had good management come from other stores to get it established. I could tell the moment they left the monkeys with the football, and this is just not a good place for professionals. It's a dumpster fire of a menards and I am tired of getting burned. Solid place to find, well pretty much anything. After a few years of my parents frequenting this store I finally made it in to look for some things for Christmas. I was after some specific items but before finding those found a bunch of other things. This store is big so be prepared to spend some time. When I finally braved to ask for help the young lady looked kind of stunned, but went off to find me help. I ended up asking another employee about another item and she walked me back to it. The check out system is cool and I think most places should adopt this style- it would keep cashiers a lot happier at their jobs, like this one was. You bag your own stuff. Overall Menards was a pleasant experience. I didn't even mention the deals you can find- prices are fairly low overall and some are a steal. One thing I will say though was there was a ton of employees walking around and posted in different areas, and despite my numerous laps around the store and inquisitive looks, none of them came up to me to ask if I needed help. Beware of ordering online for store delivery with this outfit. Ordered item and they failed to notify me it arrived at store. Subsequently they canceled my order and backcharged me for restocking. They're customer service is pitiful at best. You can get the other big box stores to match menards prices so just use their pricing to your advantage and skip transacting with them. read more
