They have the Christmas area set up and it's beautiful. We stop at this location occasionally. The store is generally clean and staffed well. Pricing is sometimes an issue as we have had to wait for them to confirm sale prices. read more

I stopped in while running errands and had a pretty average experience overall. The store is big and has a ton of variety, which is definitely convenient, but the pricing can be hit or miss. A couple items I grabbed rang up higher than what was on the shelf, so I had to wait for someone to check the price, and it took longer than expected. The store itself seemed organized enough, but the checkout area felt a little chaotic with other people having the same issue. I did find what I needed, but the inconsistency at the register made the whole trip more frustrating than it needed to be. I do love all of their holiday displays and it makes it feel so festive and lively. read more

Great spot! Don't come here too often but when I do I have had good experiences. Their building is huge and carries almost anything you could ever need. Most everything is a great price and they also offer 11% rebates off everything at certain times of the year. The employees are friendly and the order pickup process is super efficient and easy, you just scan in, head to the designated parking space, and they bring it out to you. They had it out to me about 15 seconds after I parked! That's good service. Would definitely recommend. read more

1. No handicap parking spots near new nurseery entrance. 2. When ordering mulch for pickup, I had to go to the extreme rear of the store to the "building" section. 3. The mulch was not marked with prices - just a scan code. Even the 2 employees I spoke with were dissatisfied with the store changes. read more

Menards in Rockford Il hates Veterans. I was refused service because I am a disabled Veteran. I have an exception from wearing a mask due to PTSD and other issues. Tried to explain to manager (whom had a mask but not covering his nose) but he said due to policy and state law the could not scan any of my items. Menards is one the few places I can afford to shop at. I had to go to Home Depot, they didnt have an issue with me not wearing a mask because they recognized my exeption. read more

First, I have been going to this store for about 10-12 years. With that said, what I see is a dirty, run down hardware store with cheap made in china merchandise. It is always busy, and very hard to find any store associate to help with anything. Always hated the "lowest price with a rebate" program too. Their rebates are not real rebates but basically in store credits you wait months for in the mail. FYI, do not ever return any merchandise here without a receipt- even same day purchases because they go back 90 days and give you the lowest possible amount back. I recommend to avoid this location. I avoid all menards and use as a last resort only. 1 star really is too much IMO. read more

I called Menards today to get a quote on outdoor carpeting and to find out the colors they have available. The man on the phone was very rude saying I needed to come into the store and see for myself. I said given the situation with the Covid-19 virus I am trying to spend as little time in the store as possible. His response was "well don't touch anything and I promise not to spit in your face". I replied saying I wish it was that simple and he laughed and said again, "well, I promise not to spit in your face". I'll be buying from Lowe's. read more

Typical Menards self service attitude. Cashiers are nice and courteous. Other departments don't like to be bothered but I don't either. Prices are almost always right. Good sales and clearance items. Lumber is pretty warped and seldom straight but at half the price of other stores who cares. Good paint selection. One of the only places I know where you can get R.I.P. it energy drinks and decent salsa. Auto section is on point and stocked. Nursery sucks but most do in Rockford. If I could do a negative star review I would. We purchased a thousand dollars in cabinets and the entire situation was a fiasco. The employees were rude, to the point that I was just in awe. "I will be better at closing" and "I'm sorry I asked" and "you can probably fix it with some glue" were actually things that were said to us by employees. The store manager, general manager and even corporate were of no help. There customer service is rigged in such a way, you cannot speak to ANYONE; everything has to be in writing. The general manager actually picked up his phone and hung up, of course this was before we had any contact, so this was his response to receive call from any customer. I will NEVER shop here again and will discourage anyone from doing so. Maybe a drop in the bucket to such a large company, but their reputation should matter. read more
