Employees are permitted to harass shoppers over masks and continue harassment even when masks are worn.

Bought a special order countertop. Said the company was running behind so was 3 wks to get a template. We approved it and waited forever for it to arrive. This week we received a final notice letter to pick up in 7 days or it would be placed back in stock. I called and found out they don't notify when orders are available and couldn't find my email. I wish something could be done to improve their products. I shop their often, but I can't find a decent tool box. Also, the "Tool Shop" and other reciprocating saws that I purchase there spit blades and fall apart making them dangerous to use. I think it's a manufacturing defect and poor design. They don't hold up under regular usage. The last few I have had spit blades from the state, and the boot slipped off while in use. The last one I had did the same, but the guide fell off, then the guide plate fell off, then the boot slipped off during use. It was only 16 months old when it fell apart which was 4 months out of warranty. I hope to see this problem gets fixed. read more

Customers have a choice where to spend their money. Menards has room for improvement. Customer Service depends on the department; I have always received excellent service in the Lighting dept and Paint dept. There are usually 1 or 2 mature-aged fellas in Lighting/Electrical whom I can depend on to find the exact item I need. Love shopping in the Lighting department :) The folks in Paint have always been efficient and helpful. I cannot stress how important it is for your employees to be helpful to customers. However, the rest of the store is "iffy". Frequently the younger employees are busy doing anything else but serving customers. I understand they are also stocking shelves, and have other duties too. I recently approached the desk near hardware/tools to ask for help finding an item by item number, one young lady was working on something there. I politely stood there with my cart, so as to not interrupt her. I waited, waited, cleared my throat... Eventually she lifted one eyeball in my direction and said "Something you need?". YES! I NEED for you to acknowledge my presence, NEED for you to greet a paying customer, NEED for you to assist me filling up my cart so I can get outta here and get on with my life! NEED for your parents and managers to teach you how to NOT be a rude, insolent, snotty brat. She almost looked like she was going to roll her eyes at my rude interruption of her day. I can only describe the attitude as "dismissive". Last time I checked-out the cashier girl had 4" fingernails. Sorry, but if you work at a "hardware" store and clicking buttons is your job, please be properly equipped and outfitted to perform your job! Greet the customer, make eye contact, and be efficient. I go to Menards because there are few choices for tools and hardware in Warsaw, but I anticipate that I will leave unsatisfied and annoyed. You could try a little harder to earn the privilege of my business and hard-earned money. We flip houses, sometimes purchasing truckloads of materials. read more

I don't know where some of these reviews were from, but at my home Menards in Warsaw In. I have had nothing but excellent service, when I was having trouble locating something employees didn't just point and say over there, they went with me and made sure I found what I was looking for and was happy with it. Recently I had a young man ask if I needed help he was not sure where it was , he ran , was back in less than a minute and then escorted me to the location and stayed until I found what I needed. Very poor customer service. Had items on special order come in for 10 DAYS (after spending more than $5,000) and sit in the store with NO notification from anyone. This happened MUTIPLE TIMES. I have had Menards associates standing around talking in groups about nothing business related and ignore me when I needed help. I have also had them walk away in the opposite direction when they see you approaching. Many associates in this store will simply state that an item you're looking for is "probably not available" and make NO effort to actually verify their statement in any way. You have to request specifically MULTIPLE TIMES to TRY to get them to do their job. Which of course, is a service they should have been offering you in the first place, instead of trying to convince you that their job is not worth doing. Lots of excuses and a very dismissive, uncaring attitude. read more

This store (Warsaw, IN) is literally the WORST about customer service. There is never an employee around to help you find something in their very badly re-arranged store, and even when you finally do find someone, they don't have a blessed clue where anything is. I needed rebar wire, and finally found an employee to ask. She pointed me to a particular corner of the store where the "insulation department" was, and as it turned out, there is no insulation department in that vicinity, rather windows, doors, and wood trim. I finally found another employee to ask after a couple of laps around the entire store, all the while pulling a very heavy cart loaded with fencing materials, and his answer to my inquiry was "Oh boy, the only people that might be able to tell you where that is are in the building department back there...." - to which I wanted to scream "BUT THERE AREN'T ANY PEOPLE WORKING BACK THERE!!!!" Instead, I finished my purchases and went to Lowe's. I work in a retail setting, and though it isn't really my job to help customers find something, when I happen to walk through our showroom, I ALWAYS ask anyone I happen to see if I can help them find something. It's called simple customer service. This store needs to up that or I will not be returning. My blood pressure is still high from this very unpleasant shopping experience! read more

So the guy helping us in the plumbing section did a horrible job. It's just plain rude to answer the phone, walk away, and NOT come back to finish helping the customer. Also when someone is standing there staring around, that's probably your time to step up and say how can I help you, and not stand at a counter with two other workers talking. I did tack on the second star purely because the cashier was friendly. read more
