Spent all day trying to install new chandelier (mistake) and ended up shattering one of the four globes. Went in and asked for help hoping they had extras. No luck. This is the tajmahal of Menards locations. Had my first experience this weekend and I was blown away. This place is HUGE!!!. They have everything you can think of and have 2 floors of good. Two floors you say, what a pain, stair and lugging stuff up and down - Oh No Way! Not here! They have 2 glass elevators and a huge escalator that takes you from one floor to the other. The escalator is really neat too because it is made so you can take your cart on it and it will not move. It grips on and doesn't move until you are getting off the escalator, you do not need to even hold on to it. How cool is that! Staff was helpful and friendly. Service desk was great and returns are extremely quick. Pianist playing too! Wow, if you have not checked it out, I do recommend. read more

As far as Menards go, this is the location to go to, the isles are roomy and the staff is helpful. I usually find what I'm going in for, which leads to my one minor issue with the store. They do usually have what I'm looking for, however the quality is what I question. I feel the store is great for some items, but they really are cheap for others. Sometimes a poor mans hardware store. But overall, I do use the store a lot and spend a lot of my money there. read more

As much as I like Menard's overall, this location is in a miserable spot. It is landlocked and jammed into a sliver of land where it probably has no business being. The store is cramped and crowded, and the design of the parking lot leaves a lot to be desired (trying to deal with Bluemound is a pain in the butt!) There's a Home Depot a mile away that is the exact opposite... large, spacious, pretty good layout. read more

I spent over $6,000 total on kitchen remodeling materials with them. The cabinet order showed up damaged. Replacement cabinets were delivered and damaged a second time. Not all parts were delivered and second trips made to the store to pick up items that were paid to be delivered the first time. Huge expenses incurred paying contractors for time on things they couldn't install. No refunds or make-goods were offered. The staff in Waukesha acted inconvenienced and blamed the supplier. Worst service I have ever had. Chris the person working the check out kiosk was rude. McKenna equally arrogant. I just came for light bulbs! They seriously wanted to dispute a coupon and belittle a customer. I really like coming to menard's because of the customer service in the past. Placed a special order, only one email saying items shipped, no other email saying received. Called the store and the biggest asshole in the world answered the phone, cutting me off twice, making sure he had the rudest, most nasty tone in his voice, he made sure he cut me off during my explanation of why I was calling- so he could express how annoyed he was that he had to perform his job today. Long sighs of annoyance and the word "HOLD"'were two of his favorite ways to make me, the paying customer, feel like I am doing something wrong for trying to collect merchandise that is 100% paid for. The worst part of this - nothing will be done - not even a sorry? Why? Menards could not care less about a review on Yelp. I will also let the manger know of this garbage service- that will go in one ear and out the other - sad - can't say homedepot is any better - I'll shop small specialty stores for better service. read more

I purchased a Simpson 3000 psi gas pressure washer. It ran for 15 minutes and the engine would not handle any load and would shut down. I took this back for a credit or replacement brand new , days after it was purchased. They would NOT accept ANY return. They only gave me a Mfg phone number OUT of State for repair, which has not returned my call for service. They do NOT stand behind this type of product what so ever. It is "buyer beware" as they won't help you because it is a GAS powered unit. DO NOT purchase ANYTHING that is gas powered from them. read more

Customer service has degraded to just about nothing over this past year. I was literally told by a worker in the kitchen countertop area that what I wanted was too expensive for me. WHAT THE HECK. She doesn't even know me. But she was more than eager to help an older gentleman. Saw another worker make a customer move out of an aisle so she could get through (there's more than 1 aisle in the store and the ones directly next to her were empty of customers.) The experience was so bad I didn't spend the 5k in remodeling materials that we had planned; not even a penny. read more

I bought a lawn mower from Menards, being sold on a shelf (not ground level). Apparently I bought a lawn mower meant for 6ft people, because the handle is so high somebody 5'4" to use. I called to see what Menards could do to help, and they refused to take back their product. I also bought a cover for the lawn mower, and even the cover doesn't fit over the lawn mower because the handle is up so high. I have never been given such poor customer service from any place of business...however it is not often I have any problems with products I buy. Don't buy the Lawn Devil brand from them...and if you need to return your lawn mower, they will not stand behind the products they sell. read more

I really used to love Menards and always shopped there, but I had heard stories about people getting stopped for steeling and then being blackmailed by Menards for either paying $200.00 or they will take you to court and then it will cost you $500.00 or more. Well this story is true and it finally happened to someone that I know. He was shopping and went through the checkout, the cashier did not ring up some sunglasses that he had gotten. When he was bagging his other items, he picked up the sunglasses and he put them on, not knowing that the cashier didn't charge him and all of a sudden security came and took him into a room (he never left the store) and accused him of steeling. Now he is a builder and does lots of business at Menards and was totally surprised at their accusation. So to save his reputation he signed a paper and ended up paying the $200.00 fine (which goes in Menards pocket). Needless to say, he is going elsewhere for his supplies, as are we shopping elsewhere for our supplies, as are we are expressing our disappointment with all the people that we know. We think that this is maybe a scam that Menards does to intimidate people into paying therefore they make an easy $200.00. What's with this kind of intimidation Menards?? read more

Buyer beware! I purchased materials to have my home roofed. They delivered the wrong color valleys. The contractor didn't know what color I ordered and began installing and applying shingles before mistake was caught. When I contacted the store new ones could not be delivered for two days so I picked them up. I asked the store to provide a can of spray paint for the one that was installed so I wouldn't have to remove and damage shingles and they refused saying it wasn't their policy. Spray paint would have cost them under $10.00 and I would have been happy even though I traveled 20 miles, instead I will shop at home depo from now on! read more

I spent several hours planning new kitchen cabinets with a staff member of Menards, giving specific dimensions of my kitchen. The plans were done and paid for when I noticed several days later that the staff person had put 2 cabinets totaling 66 inches in a 64 inch spot. When I returned to the store I was reprimanded by the Dept Manager Andi, that I had not reviewed the plans better before leaving. He informed me several times this was my fault not the Menards staff person. I had suggested someone else assist me as he seemed so irritated with me that I ordered the wrong size, but he informed me he was the manager and this was his job. I spent 30 minutes with him, getting the right size cabinets ,all the while he was shaking my head asking me to remind him why I didn't make sure the order was right before I paid for the cabinets. My original order was estimated to be at the store May 9, on May 10 I tracked my order online and found out the entire order was cancelled. I called and spoke with Andi, he confirmed my order was cancelled and said "mistakes happen". How ironic that when 3 cabinets are ordered the wrong size (for which the Menards staff assisted me with) I am repeatedly reprimanded and treated poorly, when a large order is cancelled by Menards "mistakes happen". My order was estimated to arrive May 9, it is May 18 still no cabinets, I was told they are expected, but not promised, to be in the store 5/20, which I was also told is right on schedule! read more

I really like this Menards location. I actually had had not the greatest experience at some of the hardware stores closer to me so decided to try this one out since it was by the gym. I was pleasantly surprised by very nice staff. People actually said hi to you and asked if you needed help (which really doesn't happen at many hardware stores these days from what I've noticed..maybe just a few). Everything I needed was available and the staff was patient enough to help. No scowling faces or ignoring customers like some places. The hours are great (was open til 10pm) and there are so many random little items that you might need, but didn't think you did ..also at great prices..scattered throughout the store. Makes shopping fun. The wait in line was a little longer since everyone tried to checkout at the same time (just more time to browse all the candy & soda scattered around checkout) & fewer cashiers for the evening shift. Got what I needed, staff was nice and shopping was easy. read more
