It's been awhile since we've had any froyo so it was a pleasant surprise to come across Menchie's during our weekend stroll. It's a self serve which is perfect to get exactly how much you want. They had about 12-14 flavors? My wife got the original, and I got a combo of strawberry and Oreo. Large topping selections with our favorites: popping boba, cheesecake bites and Mochi. Wish there were more fresh fruits. Would bring my little nephew and nieces back to try other froyo flavors. read more

Menchies is the only icy treat option in the Hingham Shipyard. Although I would, prefer ice cream, we stopped in for frozen yogurt because it was convenient. It was a much better experience than our last visit. The dulce de leche and vanilla snow frozen yogurts were creamy and flavorful. I did not taste the interesting mix of frozen yogurt flavors and toppings, but it shows you can be as creative as you'd like. There are several options including unflavored, sugar-free, and dairy-free flavors. Service was also better than the the last time. read more

How we miss the Menchies in Penfield NY so we were so happy to see one in the Boston area still open. You can't get your own yogurt and toppings now because of COVID so the staff will get you exactly what you want and how much. They put all the toppings In little containers so you can assemble your own sundae. The staff is very nice and the shop kept clean. Hope we can eat there again soon! read more

TOO EXPENSIVE! Go elsewhere. My pic says it all: tiny portions for maximum money. This store is the epitome of corporate America, apparently. I wish there were other options closeby that had similar hours, but, alas, this was our only option on a Sunday evening. My pic shows that I got a small size ice cream with 2 toppings and a Propel water. I paid over $8. Not ok. A bit overpriced, like all shops that sell things by weight, but worth it! Where else am I going to have a dole whip (of a sort) outside of Disney?! My favorite flavors are definitely the fruits; whereas the chocolate flavors are usually too light for my taste. I hate to do this but tonight I tried 3 flavors from this business . All were so nasty I tried cookies and cream didn't taste like that at all tasted like mouthwash and bananas . Then I said you know what maybe I'm crazy so I tried cake batter and nope that was so gross too that was like well moldy something so then I gave one more try cause I'm like it all can't be horrible and I tried dole pineapple and nope just nope that's all I'm gonna leave this weigh is NOPe . They make their own version of Dole Whip. You can get it plain or as a swirl. When I was there they were swirling it with pink lemonade frozen yogurt. Very refreshing in the summer heat, and it's a little sweeter I think. Tastes like real pineapple, but I prefer a swirl. Since it is a little sweeter, you might want to add other sweet flavors to it, or whatever you think is refreshing in the summer heat. In New Orleans they mix almond and vanilla flavors. are y'all dumb.... if you have a problem with this place but keep going then sit down cause that's your fault and if plan on going and you want to know what is inside of those froyos, then look it up prior to going, do you seriously expect people to know everything that's inside these froyos, do research before leaving home honey. after reading some of yall's reviews, my tolerance for the lack of intelligence from people lowered. OBVI their prices are going to be more expensive, they're a froyo place trying to make it through a decrease in sales cause the winter AND A PANDEMIC. if you don't like the prices then go somewhere else... simple. Your lack of respect for service workers is astonishing. There are so many different places you could go for ice cream/ froyo, why bother stressing yourself and those employees  with your disrespectfulness. I went there the other day and I continue to go because they are respectful and understanding to my requests. They put my small froyo in a regular sized cup so my toppings did not fall out, this was kindly done without me asking. If you cant differentiate between a small cup and a regular, then mi amor, practice basic skills before leaving the house. Their froyo cakes come out amazing and exceeds our expectations, the owner is super respectful and kind. Everything is clean, safe and the new rules are laid out for you. Affordable price but limited fresh fruit options.

My husband and I have been to Menchie's several times now. I dig the rotating selection of flavors, that there is always a "no sugar added flavor" on (and it's not just plain vanilla), and the ability to help myself to unlimited samples. I don't find all the flavors to be great, which is why sampling is awesome, and I can take as much or little of any given flavor when I finally commit and serve myself up some froyo. There is an abundance of toppings and for the most part, the place seems to be kept up with in terms of cleanliness (even in the evening I didn't see a lot of "cross contamination" between the toppings... you know, like brownie bites in the cookie dough, etc.). The prices seem reasonable. I get enough froyo for me, a few toppings and I'm not shelling over more than about $5. I have no idea how the prices compare to other places but I've spent more for less at a place that rhymes with "Blink Fairy". Parking can be a pain, especially for a quick in and out, but that's not the establishments fault but the popularity of the nearby movie theater and that the lot that serves Menchies is the main lot for all the retailers. Menchie's must be new on the market, since I'm the first review on Yelp! I wish I would have taken a look and "checked in" on my mobile app since they offer a discount on Yelp. Check in, people! The price of your fro-yo is based on weight (per ounce). You customize your dessert yourself, then weigh and pay at the cashier in the center. The set up is the reason why they only get 4/5 stars. The fro-yo machines wrap around behind the counter, a pretty cool idea, where you can mix and match different flavors to your hearts desire. However, seeing as the place was VERY busy, including about a dozen young children, the congestion was downright frustrating. Not wanting to be rude, I waited behind all those in front of me, as they hemmed and hawed about which flavors to get. I decided on kiwi-strawberry (a summertime flavor). The toppings are next: everything from gummy bears to sour patch kids, to crushed candy bars, to marshmallow topping. I tried the strawberry boba balls and really like them. Such a cool treat! I've never seen them anywhere else. However, the same problem persisted. Kids and adults alike REALLY took their time picking out toppings. As a result, my fro yo was almost completely liquid by the time I had paid the cashier. Seeing as fro-yo is not cheap (expect to pay about $5 per person), it's pretty disappointing when it's all melted before you even get to try it. I'd recommend management perhaps allowing 2-3 people at a time to go through, allowing them to pick and choose everything, just as before, but not creating a "backup." Next time I go, I'd really like to try the "original" fro-yo, which I imagine tastes like greek yogurt. If there is a line, or if it's very busy, I'd recommend just waiting until it clears out a bit. Menchies is my fav icecream place EVER! I just love the haunted harvest pumpkin mixed with dole whip with graham cracker crumbs and mango on top it's so good! We've been here several times and it's always good. The flavors are always changing, but my faves are pineapple, chocolate, and iced coffee. There are a 1-2 flavors for those who are lactose intolerant. 55/cents per oz, so usually $4-5 per person. Toppings include candy, fruit, cereal, nuts, hot fudge, etc. The kids love sampling different flavors before making their final selection, and getting to add toppings themselves. The sample cups are on the counter, and they encourage you to sample which is better than other froyo places like Yogurt City or Orange Leaf where I feel like I'm bothering the worker by asking to sample a few of the flavors. Agree with the other comments on here about the setup. It can get a bit cramped. Also, the store is kind of set up strange. There are a few tables in the front of the store, but then you walk down a hallway to the back of the store where there are a few more tables. But minor stuff, still a solid 4 stars. I'm really not a fan of yogurt or frozen yogurt, but we were talked in to trying it. I picked a flavor, and it was pretty good. The downsides ... It gets very crowded in the area around the machines, even with just a few people, it's a tight space. The pricing in my opinion is way too high. At a price of $.55 per ounce ($8.80 per pint), it is more than twice the price of Ben & Jerry's pints, and that is real ice cream. read more

10/10 would NOT recommend. Terrible fro yo. I'm telling you the fro yo was too much fro not enough yo. Seriously though, it was almost flavorless compared to Pinkberry (best fro yo place on the planet, but most importantly- Hingham). Also the selection of toppings was repulsive. I went at the end of the night and their was barely any fruit left. And the fruit that was left was disgusting and had gone bad.
