Hunter is the best ART practitioner I've ever seen. I am an extreme endurance athlete, who has years of wear and tear on my body from ultra running/hiking and now climbing. It's very rare that I find and stick with one body therapist, but Hunter knows the body and his work is phenomenal. Hunter is a an excellent CMT whom i recommend 100%! I got massage from him back in 2017 and then lost his contact info but found him again in 2026!! He's still the person i would trust to get the fascia release, tissue and knot massages from. Hunter evaluates and then proceeds to target the areas that need the most attention. I feel almost new again after my visit with him as he knows what he's doing. I say almost because some of my injuries cant be fixed with a massage. Now, there is massage therapy and then there is bodywork and you'll want to know the difference! LOCATION: In a nicely kept brick building with plenty of street parking in midtown. The building is right on the corner so you can't miss it. THERAPIST: Hunter is a great guy I've had the pleasure of meeting through acrobatic yoga. This is an activity that draws so many different kinds of people from all sorts of backgrounds and Hunter fit the mold. Kind, accepting, gentle with his speech and sturdy with his hands so when he told me about his massage practice and that it was geared towards athletes, I was all in. Especially since I sustained injuries in my military service that will affect me for life. EXPERIENCE: Now, I don't want to just go in and say that it was perfect, but dammit! That massage was super good! First off, the room was very clean and nearly kept. Hunter had informed me that he would be changing rooms and showed me to the new one which is much more spacious and has a nice little window. That's towards the end of March 2019 so very soon. Anyway, about that massage. I like a stronger, firmer massage that can really get down and work those tissues. As an athlete, I have a bit of muscle for people to go through so I usually need to tell them to do more, but I didn't have to with Hunter. It's like he knows that already and he went in and I was like, Yaaasss! And just when I'm thinking it can't get any better, this dude start stretching me. I don't think there's anybody that loves stretching more than me. I stretch everyday. I will show up to work late because I had a decision to either do the stretches or make it to work on time and I chose the stretches. And I would choose em again. So here I am on this table and feeling Tony the Tiger great and when I got off that table I felt like doing something. Usually I will get off a massage table feeling very relaxed and ready to go to sleep. Not that I'm saying I wasn't relaxed. I'm just saying that I felt more than relaxed. Hunter is AMAZING. He knows every single muscle, ligament, and joint of the body so well it is very impressive! I have seen Hunter several times for some serious healing sessions. I am an athlete and I get very tight muscles from training. Hunter is wonderful at getting all of the knots and tension out and he stretches me! Another time he got me in so last minute (THANK YOU!) after a long road trip - I thought my lower back was going to implode from pain. After just one hour I felt like I was reborn with a brand new body. I like to call him a "sheet wizard" because when he is stretching me he somehow does magic with the sheets so that I always feel very well covered while he pulls me in every direction, stretching every single muscle. Excellent is an understatement for me for the work he had done. I want to go in detail but it would take a whole nine yards just to go over every little detail. He's magical! I get a massage every 2 weeks and since this pandemic happened, I have not had this lucky to get more than what I actually expect. At first I was skeptical about his exceptional rating on this app but hey it is darn exceptional! I love a lot of pressure and he did wonders on that. From the nape all the way to my toes he was very consistent . And the stretches!!! Omgoodness!!!LOVED IT!!!!! He never once made me uncomftable. He hit all the knots and bumps on my achy sore back. He took his time and he worked hard! I'd give him 100 out of 10. Im very impressed. I think I'm gonna book my next one before he leaves my house (I convinced my mom to get one coz its super good). I had given up on spending money on massages that left me disappointed. I like deep tissue but apparently most massage people I've tried don't. On the advice of my girlfriend I gave Hunter a try. I had issues with Tennis Elbow and limited motion due to rotator cuff injuries. These were prohibiting me from achieving something important. Hunter went to work and the difference was noticeable within a few 20 min. sessions. I added some 1hr home visits and I've regained a full range of motion on my shoulder and the difference in my "game" is nothing short of "elegant" to quote one of my Fly Casting students. If you are not able to achieve your top game because of an old injury or decades of bad posture, call Hunter. His massage techniques have made a huge difference for me and I'd highly recommend you try Hunter rather than shots - which do nothing to fix the underlying problems. Hunter is Amazing! My first time with him was at the Urban Hive for a 10 minute session and I was hooked. I just got out of, what was supposed to be 60-minute session (digital snafoo made it into 90 minutes, although he charged me for 60 minutes -- total integrity). He is intuitive, attentive, and super smart! I peppered him with questions from the moment I was done with the initial paperwork. He answered every question to the best of his knowledge. Loved that! The thing that impressed me the most was his ability to clear his mind and be completely present with me and my needs while I was there. Scored major points for me in that regard. I've had massages from a few people, who were all professional, but I never vibed with them like I did Hunter. (I immediately called my husband after I left and told him, "I think I've found my guy!") I've been looking for someone like Hunter for about 3 years. There's so much more that I could say, but bottom line is this -- Hunter is professional, courteous, attentive, intuitive and very knowledgeable about the body, and most important he has a great heart for what he does. It seems to me that he got into the profession to truly help people and he's passionate about that, which makes him perfect. Book with him and you'll see. I highly recommend Hunter! He's very professional and very knowledgable. During our first session, he applied a variety of techniques - this was a pleasant surprise, I'd never had a massage quite like it.  I'm a very active person, and I also work at a desk 5 days a week, so I'm sitting a lot and my neck and back can get very tight. I have a regular yoga practice, which helps with the tightness and the pain, but I've come to recognize the value of getting regular bodywork. The amount of time that I'm pain free lasts much longer than when I'm just doing yoga alone. His approach is intuitive and very relaxing, but not without addressing my specific complaints, and not without digging in when it's called for.
