I really can't say enough about how much Paul has helped me to recover from a car accident I was in last year that left me with connective tissue and soft tissue injury. Update: it's been 3 weeks since my original review. Paul reached out today and refunded the cost of my babysitter which I appreciated a lot. Original review: I had one massage with Paul and scheduled a 2nd but won't try a 3rd. I liked his use of firm pressure but disliked that he did not work on the areas I had requested at the start of the massage. I decided to try again but I regret it. For the 2nd appointment I scheduled 1 month in advance. Paul texted only 1 hour before appt start time to say he must cancel. Didn't bother to see if I replied or to call me to make sure I got the message. I had not seen the text as my day was busy and I honestly have never experienced a last minute cancellation such as this. I had already driven to appt, paid for parking, and walked there. Location is often difficult to find parking and I only found a spot 5 blocks away this time. Also I am 8mo pregnant and needed to hire a babysitter to watch my toddler in order to attend. I told Paul about this and his only response was "oh dear." No offer to correct the situation or even acknowledge my difficulties and money wasted as a result of his last minute cancellation. I received a confirmation email the night before from his account.. So I know he knew about the appointment. I called him and emsiled him....still haven't heard back. Also the location is very bad... I was a little hesitant about leaving my car for 90 minutes. I have no idea how well he massages so I can't review that.... But if you're looking for a spa massage please look elsewhere... Paul Brown Massage Therapy was my first professional massage experience. I was late, and he was able to manage, still, an appropriate time scheduling for me before his next client. I've had a long and growing issue with my shoulders and neck cinching up and straining; all relevant muscles and tendons closing around and into my esophagus. When I introduced this issue to Paul, he had absolutely no reservations and had full confidence in going right in and alleviating all tension and pain in every area I knew and was unaware of being afflicted with increasing tension. Paul's process begins with essential questions regarding personal health and daily routine that may help in identifying where the sources of any tension and strain may lie. He is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. His instruction and courtesy while in the process of getting one's self into a state of peace are effective and comforting. After about an hour of relaxing assessment of all my core tensions using Swedish massage technique, I was uncontrollably smiling with relief by the time he was finished working on my neck and shoulders. I said it felt as if he had turned me into 'human laffy taffy.' I could turn my head and roll my shoulders as I could not do for at least four years prior when I had much more mobility. I took the couples massage workshop with my husband for our anniversary and we had such a great time! I will warn you that the location seems a little sketch and that Paul was a little intimidating at first (because he's so tall,) but as my husband phrased it, "He's like a big teddy bear once you get to know him." Haha.. In other words, do not judge the book by its cover.. he's very kind and easy going. :) Anyways, during our couples massage workshop, my husband and I took turns lying, faced down on a massage table. I lied down first and my husband watched Paul as he demonstrated proper form and a few basic techniques of massage on half of my body. My husband stepped in after each technique to try it out. Then after finished showing my husband each technique, he stepped back to observe and guide him as he massage me independently on the other half of my body. After about 40 minutes my husband and I switched places. Then Paul got back up to show me the techniques and so on, just like he did with my husband. Overall, the experience was great! Paul was so informative and knowledgeable and Im happy to say that my husband and I walked away with a better understanding of massage therapy. And we both actually enjoyed each other's massages, which we usually do, but not as much as we did during the class. Paul taught us how to preserve your energy and massage more effectively. I knocked one star down because it was a very hot summer day and the AC was down. Also, because the room didn't look as calming and welcoming. Other than that 2 thumbs up. read more

Paul is the best, a true master of his craft. I believe he is classified as a myofascial tissue release therapist. Instead of aimlessly digging into your trigger points he has the ability to painlessly work his way towards the focal point of pain by releasing the surrounding tissues in the kinetic chain. You will be LIBERATED. Another bonus is that he has a unique electric table that articulates in all the right places, helping position you for optimal results. He's always available through multiple modes of communication and often willing to squeeze in an appointment. I will point out some negatives you might want to be aware of... If Paul wasn't such an expert I'd ding him a star, but he's so good they're easily overlooked for me. First, he's not always organized; sometimes late, occasionally he will change your appointment time the day of your massage, and he has cancelled on me last-minute at least once. Second, the ambiance is not spa-like. It's a small room with a table and some sheets. His music doesn't always function flawlessly. So be it. It's a massage, not a retreat. Lastly (and this one is probably a deal breaker for many), he sweats and you'll know it. He's actually gotten a lot better about containing his perspiration. Enough said. I don't care about fluff. I want substance, and Paul has it in gobs. Hands down, the best massage on planet earth. Be prepared to leave his office feeling like a new person. read more

I began seeing Paul a few years ago. I routinely go to chiropractors, physical therapy, get traction, ultrasound, laser therapy, you name it. If it's an available treatment for long term disc and muscle injury, I exploit it. I've been to over 50 CMT's, and nobody comes near him. His education and understanding of the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems translates into the application of his craft. He explains your physiology as he's manipulating your muscles, and it's a good thing. If you aren't prepped for what's coming next, you won't know how to deal with it. The sheer size of this man gives him the most amazing tool of all to do this for a living (he's a big dude). But whether you're just looking for general relaxation or legitimate pain relief, you couldn't invest your money more wisely. To sum him up: he is the finger of god. You will walk out feeling like a stranger in your own body, lightheaded, as if you're high. The full body sensation of relief is omnipresent, every nerve ending screaming than you for what you just did. The amazing "hurts so good" soreness lasts for a couple days, and serves as a pleasant reminder to take it easy. But if you're looking for an expert, stop here and demand nothing less. My wife and I recently took a private couples massage class with Paul for my wife's birthday, and it was a fantastic experience. Paul was incredibly knowledgeable, and started the class off with an explanation of the different techniques we'd be using and the proper movements/hand placements. Then we jumped right into practicing on each other, under Paul's patient guidance. We learned a ton from the experience, and it was also super relaxing while getting massaged. When I asked if he would still honor despite it being expired by just a little over a month, he laughed and said "no". He offered that I can use it towards a different purchase but he didn't care because it was already expired. He laughed at me and said, "I don't care, it works for my business."
