I can't say enough how helpful this place was. First off the rep who answered the phone was Mehki (Muh - Kai) sorry if I spelled your name wrong, but he was super helpful on the phone and in person when I got there. Informative, easy to work with and friendly. I was there because I was feeling terrible in my body and he put me at ease with the intake. Then Dr. Maria Sabau is, without any doubt, the BEST Doctor I've ever experienced. She came in friendly but firm, gave me the usual doctor convo but what made her stand out was how curious she was about me, my symptoms, and what lead to me getting there. Look, often with doctors I feel like they're barely listening and just trying to keep moving while subsiding my symptoms. Ok I get it, you're busy. But I'm a human being in pain. Maria, met me where I was. She told me the goods and bads and her directions were easy to follow. She even said "after a few days, call back in an let me know how this works for you". Wow. Our second time here in the last three years. I brought my son to see a doctor cause he has a toenail infection. It was hurting and it's all red so it needed urgent care. When we got here there was no one waiting so after ten minutes they called us in. The doctor looked at it, explained what the problem is and prescribed two kinds of medications. She was very nice, friendly and caring. My teenage son who was scared to go felt very comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly as well. So far we had two good experiences here. Hopefully I won't need urgent care too many times but in case we do I'll come back here. read more

So, I'll preface by saying I used to come here years ago and they were great. Loved the provider and staff was super nice. Things have changed. I was up super early and I decided to hop online to see when they opened. I saw you could book online. I went and made an appointment for 820am. Nowhere did it say it was reserved for new patients. I get there at 8:12. Check in for my appointment and I'm informed that they don't take appointments. And said it was only reserved for new patients. I filled out the paperwork and double checked online and went ahead and showed the front desk staff that it literally has nowhere on the website that it says it's reserved for new patients. She basically told me they've been asking them to change it for a long time and offered nothing else. She did not offer to honor the appointment. She did not offer to honor the timeframe. I sat there because there were only two patients ahead of me, but the second patient was called in at 8:40 and I had to leave to go to work. Not sure how the change is so drastic, but they are nothing like they used to be. read more

I preferred the Burbank location but it had been closed down. I went to the Sherman Oaks location twice because it was one of the few urgent cares covered by my insurance. I visited there twice in August. The office staff were very nice. There was no doctor present just a nurse practitioner Deborah. Long story short, second visit with Deborah showed her level of unprofessionalism. She acted like she had more important things to do and did not seem to take me seriously. She spent no more than five minutes with me. She suggested that I take a different allergy med and told me I should move out of my apartment. Since that last visit, I have been trying to get my medical records and have not been able to. They claim that their system has been down for over two weeks and that they have no access to my first visit and that my second visit hasn't even been entered into the system yet. I have emailed three different people multiple times and called that location at least 15 times. I i've waited on hold multiple times upwards of over an hour, been hung up on and told that someone is going to return my call or email. No one has ever called or emailed me back. Due to the nature of my symptoms and seeing a new PCP, I need those records for potential legal reasons and for my new doctor. Mend urgent care administration is inefficient, unprofessional, and does not place any actual doctors at this facility. If you are looking for good care, find a better urgent care facility to go to. These people have no trouble charging you or your insurance, but they have a lot of trouble providing actual care and medical records. This place doesn't Mend anyone. read more

I visited Mend Urgent Care Sherman Oaks/Woodman on Friday, Dec 12, 2025 around 3:30 PM with my mother. She was already anxious about coming in, and the front desk interaction unfortunately made things worse. A staff member who identified herself as "Elsa" spoke to us in a raised, sharp tone and was unhelpful because my mom only had a photo of her medical insurance ID card "not the physical card". To keep my mom calm, I had her wait in the car while I spoke with someone else. The next staff member helped immediately and had no issue using the photo of the card so this felt less like a policy problem and more like a professionalism/customer service issue. I'm sharing this because patient facing staff set the tone, especially for nervous patients. I hope the clinic addresses communication and de-escalation at check in. read more

Very unhygienic - dirty floor in reception, soiled couch, no masks. And unprofessional: I called to check wait time and was told no one in line and first come first basis. And the provider was on lunch until 1pm. I arrived shortly before 1pm to check in. I was the only patient. I registered and then waited and waited and waited. No communication no interaction as to why provider is not seeing me. The was told she is on the phone even if I had arrived as first in line. The nurse was then aggressive when I asked what is going on and why they don't communicate. Zero customer care - given I was sick - and apart from awful condition of place there was no reason or explanation why they were not seeing me. I walked out and instead went to EXER urgent care who were fantastic on every level - cleanliness communication customer care professionalism. read more

Background on the 31st I went to my doctor won't tell you who it is, but it's near Roscoe and Woodman. After seeing them, I had the same issue. So I decided to go to urgent care. On 1 April, I went to urgent care went to the receptionist who was very kind and listened to the issue I had. They took me in a room where the nurse came in who was very good and took my blood pressure and weight she said the doctor would be in a few minutes. Dr. Maria, who is very professional ask me what my issue was and I told her my ear was hurting and I was having a hard time sleeping. She examine my ear and found there was an issue. She explained everything that she was going to do very well. I had a cerumen removal . And when I left that day, my pain had stopped. Just let you know this is my second review that I've ever wrote and I'm 74 years old. So I would recommend to anyone . Dr. Maria.Preda . A very good doctor. read more

This urgent care has usually been my go-to, but my last visit was far from a good experience. I waited three hours to be seen, and when I was finally called in, the medical assistant Elsa, had a horrible attitude. I understand that long wait times happen, and I didn't complain or give the staff a hard time because everyone was so nice! However, Elsa's behavior was completely unprofessional. While she was busy writing on her clipboard, I was checking my work emails on my phone. Without any warning, she abruptly said, "I will come back when you're ready," as if I had been the one delaying the process. I didn't think I was being rude, but I put my phone away so she could proceed taking my vitals. Still, she continued with a passive-aggressive tone, and after taking my vitals, she slammed the door behind her. I tried to brush it off and l even laughed about it-- I mean I get it! everyone has bad days. But what happened next is where I draw the line. When the physician asked who was next, I overheard Elsa say, "Room 2, THE MEAN ONE." I was shocked. Not only was her comment unprofessional, but it was also completely uncalled for. Was I feeling my best? No--but after waiting three hours with a fever and a headache, that's understandable. Still, I remained patient, polite, and respectful throughout my visit. I never raised my voice, acted rudely, or gave her any reason to treat me that way, which made her behavior toward me all the more unnecessary and disappointing. I brought the issue to the rest of the staff, and it turns out I'm not the only one who has had problems with Elsa's attitude. Apparently, multiple people have complained about her behavior before. I decided to address it with her directly in a respectful manner--no yelling or cursing--just calling her out for her rudeness. Instead of taking accountability, she denied everything and made excuses about how she had a lot going on. I understand that life gets tough, but that doesn't justify treating patients poorly, especially in the medical field. I truly hope they hire someone better suited for this role because, while I personally remained calm, not everyone will. Patients come in feeling sick, vulnerable, and in need of care--not to be met with hostility. On a positive note, the rest of the staff handled the situation well. The front desk team was kind, and Dr. Preda was incredibly sweet and professional. I appreciate their efforts, but Elsa's behavior left a really bad impression. I live a few blocks from this location and have been here a handful of times full of times because it's so close to me. After this last visit I won't be returning. First of all the parking situation here sucks. I've never found parking in the structure. I always find it mind blowing because the waiting area or the UC itself mostly looks empty yet no parking. I have had quite a few asthma attacks and walking a few steps felt like a marathon to me so when I had to park on Ventura it was not the best feeling. I finally make it inside and I have to fill out the same paperwork I had completed the previous times. While waiting I saw the second thing that put me off from this location. I saw the cleaning lady clean the garbage can and the coffee machine with the same towel. She rudely cleans around you or what she calls cleans. My only reason for the 2 stars is because of the nurse that took my vitals and NP that treated me and prescribed medication that thankfully has been helping. Next time I will do the drive and go to Burbank Urgent Care. It's a whole different experience. read more

I had sprained my ankle and went to EAX er.. no exaggeration three hours to see the doctor and when I did, she acted like she didn't have time for me. When the injury flared up, I had a back pain and a sore throat. I definitely didn't go there and went to MEND I have always had a good experience over the years having to go there. This time my weight was very reasonable and the nurse practitioner. Deborah was thorough. She even followed up with phone calls and diagnosed me far beyond what they did at EXER.! this is Sherman Oaks and if you have any problem, I would highly suggest you go to mend urgent care on Woodman Avenue for an amazing staff. The people at the office looked annoyed at me... they asked me many times if I was sure I wanted to get my daughter seen there because they didn't take my insurance so I had to pay. The doctor was nice but she told me this was a serious injury and sent me to the ER. Took her to the ER and the doctor at the ER told me the total opposite thing, that my daughter had not a serious injury and she didn't require to go to the ER. Though the front desk staff was trying to remain positive and helpful, it wasn't a great experience from the start. The online registration didn't work, parking is pricey (it's the Valley, come on!), poor air conditioning in lobby (it was 100 degrees outside,) and I was informed there was only ONE provider available. (There are 10 rooms - why?) Like past Yelpers have stated, the nurse was NOT kind. I waited and waited, even after the other patients had left. Finally, I see the NP for a migraine hoping for an IV cocktail, steroid or SOMETHING to relieve my pain. What does she say? "Drink Gatorade and V8 Splash." Staff was kind and very patient especially since there was an incident in the waiting room involving a manbaby who walked in and immediately started accosting the poor receptionist. He apparently was upset there was a third Mend location when whatever site he looked at only showed two, he demanded to speak to a supervisor and accused the receptionist of being rude. We could all see and hear the conversation so that wasn't true. Everyone was flabbergasted as to what this mantoddler was demanding and confused as to what he was trying to accomplish as the receptionist has no control over him discovering a third location when the internet apparently told him there was only two. Did he want her to wave a wand and erase the "extra" location? He was making absolutely zero sense. She handled it calmly but unfortunately the manfetus would not let up with his confusing demands and was only getting more angry as the seconds passed. Eventually other patients in the waiting room got involved, most of which were women and a child. A lot of yelling took place with the manchild slinging pre-teen comebacks and threats towards everyone who spoke up.(I guarantee if the waiting room was filled with men he would not have been so bold.) Unfortunately I did not see what came of this incident but I hope they sent him to the ER to have his head examined thoroughly. "A+" to the staff for trying to keep things under control and responding calmly to the situation. I felt bad for the receptionist who did nothing wrong and was trying her best. 3 Stars for kind and professional staff, 1 star for the waiting room tantrum show. This is probably my fourth time coming here. Every single time, it has been nothing but a positive experience. I really wish this were my primary care doctor's office. Today I was checked in by Clarissa. Prior to going in, I called to make sure they still accepted my insurance and IPA since it was a new year and all. So, those of you complaining about them not taking your insurance, a simple 2 minute phone call could have taken care of that for you. Clarissa was extremely nice on the phone as well as when I arrived and she checked me in. The M.A, Fabian was also very nice. He was constantly checking on me to make sure I was doing okay with each step of taking my vitals and during my triage. He had to give me a shot at the end, and he was courteous and respected and followed my wishes for how I wanted things done. The N.P. Debbie, introduced herself. Listened to everything I was telling her, informed me of things I wasn't aware of that most likely contributed to my illness. She explained everything in the exam and was very thorough and concise with her diagnosis and treatment going forward. The scribe, Melanie was also very friendly and assured me she understood how I felt and I had every right to feel that way. There was literally nothing wrong with this office or visit, from the initial phone call to when I left. When I got to the pharmacy, my insurance wouldn't cover the mg of medication I was prescribed. I called the office. The phone was answered right away. Of course I was on hold for a few minutes because I'm sure they had to wait for the provider to finish with the patient she was seeing before she could address my issue. Clarissa came back on the phone, apologized for the wait and said to give it 5 min for it to go through to CVS. Again, they are very approachable and will go the extra step for you. I've been to Mend Clinic for my ailments & they offer nothing short of top notch quality care. All the PA's & I do mean ALL the PA's have been wonderful & have great bedside manner. Fabian, Michelle, Julie, Dr.Ellis are fantastic caring people. My wait time has been no more then 10 minutes to be be treated. The office is very clean as well. This was by far the best urgent care facility I have visited. Check-in was excellent. The person that took your vitals was excellent and the urgent care doctor was excellent. Maybe a 1/2 wait if that. When you need urgent care you already don't feel up to par, so when you walk in the door of an urgent care, all you need is a crowded waiting room snobby people and a 2 to 3 hour wait that's what I was expecting and that's not what I got here. This place is great I almost don't want to say anything to anybody because it might get too crowded now. I wish my regular dr was like the urgent care physician. Thank you Mend. read more

First of all: this location only has nurse practitioners/physicians assistants. NO DOCTORS! If you need a doctor go to their Burbank location! Needed some stitches removed from my chin and my doctor couldn't see me until next week! I was able to come here through my insurance and the receptionists were really nice and helped me check in. I waited about 20 minutes before I was seen by Anna Liu. Really gentle with the removal and made sure I wasn't in pain or uncomfortable. I have been with Mends Urgent Care for 6-7 years. Unfortunately, they replaced their MDs with PAs and my recent experience with PA Demetria was very disappointing. I waited 50 minutes for my appointment even though the lobby was empty. PA Demetria kept apologizing that she usually works on Van Nuys Blvd., not Woodman. Despite my request for specific medication it took her 7 hours to call in a prescription and it was the wrong one. When I checked with CVS (3), they told me prescriptions weren't on file. CVS printed a record showing what she had sent over, but it was incorrect. So I went back to PA Demetria and showed her the copy. She gave me a phoney authorized copy of rx took it back to CVS and it still wasn't on file. She was claiming it was CVS's fault. CVS solved my problem. I will not be returning to Mends Urgent Care. read more

Terrible service! My mom took her friend here today for a dog bite that punctured her hand. She doesn't speak english so she asked the receptionist if she could ask the dog owner to pay her daily wage as she wasn't going to be able to work the rest of the day. The other receptionist stepped in and started telling her to not be taking advantage of the dog owner and proceeded to say that they were like that because they're latinas! Unprofessional! on February 23rd 2025, I experienced a Doctor show lack of care for patient confidentiality. Her diagnosis of a patients issue on their private area was overheard by 4 people in the waiting room. When the front desk was told to tell the Doctor that this was a serious issue the Doctor only a few minutes later began speaking about two more clients name, age, and issue!!! I ended up leaving before any treatment was given because of the complete lack of care for their patients privacy!! I've been there a couple times and this last time was terrible. There's no doctors on staff, the guy who treated me was giving me inaccurate information, that even I knew was wrong. I asked for antibiotics they refused. I called the next morning bc my infection spread. They still wouldn't give me antibiotics. I am now at a different dr to be treated properly. If they would have given me the proper meds this wouldn't have gotten worse. Two stars for the friendly staff and the lady that treated me back in December, she was great. Despite feeling unwell and asking for nausea medicine, the response was cold and indifferent, with the staff prioritizing their lunch over my situation. I'm truly surprised at the negative reviews here, and they almost scared me off from going. Recently I woke up with a hideous earache on one side. Didn't feel sick in any other way but my ear was throbbing and sensitive to touch. My GP couldn't see me for 10 days, so OK, Urgent Care it is. This office wasn't far so they won based on location. Parking is a little wonky (I still don't fully trust those Scan this QR Code spaces, but here we are) but lots of spaces available. I walked in, was warmly greeted by reception, and I noticed the office was spotless. Bright, cheery and immaculate. There were two unmasked women in the waiting area, one of whom sounded like death warmed over, so I was grateful for the large-ish waiting area and my mask. (still wearing them in the two germiest places I go, doctors' offices and airplanes) They asked me to fill out a new patient questionnaire and I was seen about 30 minutes later. Not bad at all considering I basically called and dashed over. I was seen by a pleasant NP who quickly diagnosed my issue and recommended an over-the-counter solution. And I'm all fixed so it looks like she was right. I would use this Mend office again for any urgent care needs. read more
