Pricing was very competitive. Alex and his crew did a fantastic job installing my deck stairs and porch, they are beautifully done and very sturdy. Far better than what we had before. They were there within 2 days of hire and completed the work within 2 days. We told them not to paint but Alex threw in paint for just the cost of materials, which was nice. Although, I wish I had some say on the color since they didn't ask beforehand and I would have loved a natural stain instead. The crew was very kind, they'd even bring my packages into the garage for me and make sure to close the garage door when they were done. The work is sturdy, done right, and I feel confident will last. My only point of advice is to just be more mindful of the garden. I had just purchased and planted 6 new plants and had a succulent ground cover I had been working to grow out for years. It was all so trampled I thought maybe they had dug it out at first. It would have been nice to get warning so I could dig it up myself (since it was fresh planted) or for them to step around it. Overall, I'd definitely hire GAB again (and likely will to finish our deck soon) and will reccomend them to friends and family. I thought the estimate was fair and appropriate for the cost of the materials, the demo, and the labor. A lot of the other contractors were giving me ridiculously low bids, which I knew were shady and they hadn't measured the area. They came within a few days in same day. I had a new, completely rebuilt dock, which is fabulous. They kept the area clean while they were working, and I barely knew they were there, totally respectful. I am so happy to have my dock back so that I can play on the lake.

We first learned about Wise Choice through Yelp, and although we were initially nervous about choosing a contractor for such a large job (they gave us the best estimate, by far!) without a personal recommendation, we couldn't be happier with our decision. They were great to work with throughout the entire process, from architectural and engineering plans, permitting, and the actual construction. The project manager, Sergiy, and foreman, Bogdan, were very honest, helpful, and responsive every step of the way. The project was completed pretty much on budget (with only a couple of unforeseen issues outside of their control) and on time. They caused a big leak in my bedroom during my roof replacement, completely denied it, and refused to take ownership of their mistakes. They even had the audacity to call it an "old yellow stain." I had to hire a lawyer and fight back with evidence. Save yourself and your family the headache and avoid them at all costs. They sent only two guys to start the work and they ripped off all my shingles one day before a major storm. Then they left my roof with no shingles during rain and storm conditions for two days. That caused a big leak in my bedroom and significant damage to my family. When I called them, they came out and spent 4+ hours on my roof, then told me: "We don't know what it is, but there is no leak." Thankfully, I had a moisture meter, before/after pictures, and enough evidence to prove what happened. Even then, they still tried to deny it and said, "Based on our industry experience, such yellowing is consistent with an older leak. It is possible the stain pre-dated our work." On top of the leak, they didn't secure the shingles on my roof during the storm. A bunch of shingle packages (roughly 40+ pounds each) fell from the roof onto my deck and shed. That could have seriously injured or even killed someone if that hit them! it anyways caused significant damage to my shed and deck! I wish that was the end of the story, but it wasn't. They also somehow managed to mess up the electrical wiring in my attic. And again, they denied responsibility, even though they agreed to pay for the repairs. They are extremely shady, deny their mistakes, and provide very unsafe work. save your money and your family from all their headaches and damages!

I had the hardest time trying to just get into my home this whole week. I would get yelled at for walking under the caution tape, but couldn't get to my front door without doing so. I would get yelled at for trying to walk in through my garage. Finally last day that they are here, today, I was told they would be gone by noon. I got here at 1 they were still there so I left and came back they were still there at 5pm. Mind you the entire time they were here. They hadn't been working. Two of the days they were here they only worked until noon, and then left. When the job could have easily been done that day. When I parked in front of their dumpster so I could go inside my home. They yelled at me again for trying to get into my own home, were laughing at me. And one of the workers called me fat. I am 9 months pregnant and my due date is tomorrow. I tried my best to be graceful during this whole thing. But these workers were extremely rude. Disrespectful and not only had they broke our ring camera but pictures and signs we had up in our home flew off the wall and broke because how hard they were going. Mind you we have had work done on our home roof before and never experienced anything like this. Very disappointing.

On one occasion, they placed their ladder directly against my new gutters, scraping the paint, and later had to return to touch up the damage. I don't want to have to micromanage the work; I expect the job to be completed properly the first time. Their "checklist" is dishonest; this year, it's taken 3 separate visits to clean out the downspouts. I've also learned they didn't clean out my gutters with a leaf-guard like screens, so I have gutters with four years of packed debris. I feel misled by Valentine Roofing.

There is still a disagreement as to the aesthetic of the work, but I definitely appreciate the willingness to listen and attempt to correct. Valentine dumps a hefty amount of its resources into advertising "quality work" boasting being voted the "Best in the PNW" by the Seattle Times and getting a "Super Service Award" by Angi to get consumers, like me, to take a second look at it when it comes time for roof work. While I very much would've liked to have paid for the work advertised, I didn't. We signed the contract four months before the actual work started. The estimator was very likeable, down to earth, and addressed all questions we had. We asked for the estimate to include all possible costs so we could budget accordingly. He agreed and provided us an estimate that we thought was the "worst case scenario" number. We felt at ease. We felt we went with a contractor that wasn't cheap, but one we felt could provide quality work that was done with care. Four months later the work began. Instead of working with the estimator, we now have a project manager that is our point of contact. Day one, we're told our "worst case scenario" number wasn't actually the worst case... we were now told it's $3k more than we thought we'd owe, at most. Not the best news to get the first day and frustrating after having a candid conversation about surprise charges. During the first few days of the work, our project manager was unreachable for multiple hours at a time while the work was happening. The weather was not great and there was intermittent rainfall during the first week of work. We had concerns of water intrusion, runoff not being drained properly, and the roof being exposed. Our gutters were torn off and the fascia exposed. We were told that everything would be put back together once the roof was done. When the rain wouldn't let up, and we noticed the water not draining properly, we continued to contact the PM. We were told everything was protected. It wasn't until we showed photos and videos of the issues we saw that anything was actually done. The second half of the job went better in terms of communication, but we still had concerns about the aesthetic of the roof, but gave them the benefit of the doubt until the job was done before addressing the concern, again. The roof work finished. Not being a roof expert, I can't speak to the durability of the roof nor can I address leak prevention, but I can say it looks terrible and sloppy. Our roof looks worse than it did before they started. The gutters were initially reattached incorrectly, the flashing wasn't cut to the correct length on multiple areas causing an overlap with the flashing attachment. When this was brought up, we were met with a slight openness to address our issues, but ultimately half-assed, semi fixes and ignoring the majority of our complaints was the final result. If we would've selected a roofer that claimed to have the cheapest price and the quickest turnaround, I think this outcome would be more understandable. We didn't do that. We thought we were paying for quality. For a company that leans so heavy into advertising as being the best, we really expected more
