I've been wanting to try Mendocino Farms since I heard they were opening in Davis, and I finally made it over to the new location on Russell Boulevard. I'm glad I did because everything was delicious. I ordered the pork belly banh mi and a cup of the Greek lemon chicken and farro soup. The banh mi was definitely the highlight. The pork belly was moist, tender, chewy, and really flavorful, and the crunchy vegetables added a great contrast. The ciabatta was perfectly soft with just a little bit of grilling and worked really well with everything in the sandwich. It was also a pretty substantial portion. I could only finish half and took the other half home for my son to try. The Greek lemon chicken and farro soup was also really good. I would have loved a little more lemon zing to it, but that's really my only critique of the food. Tenisha helped me during my visit and was super friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression for a new location. My lunch came in just under $30, so it's definitely on the pricier side for a sandwich-and-soup lunch. That said, everything tasted fresh and high quality, with plenty of protein and vegetables, and the pricing seems pretty comparable to the other options in this newly updated shopping area. Overall, this was a great first visit. The food was fresh, delicious, and felt like a healthier lunch option without sacrificing flavor. Mendocino Farms never misses! My sweet co worker took me out to dinner here after work one night and I was blown away! Yes I know it's a sandwich, salad and soup spot but their food is tasty! And the customer service is on another level! Very nice and clean establishment! We went here after the holidays, because this parking lot was A HOT MESS during the holiday season! You couldn't find parking ANYWHERE! Customer service here was so nice! Very nice workers here! We ordered the chicken parm sandwich and turkey avocado! Along with lemon chicken farrow and tomato basil soup! It took about 20 minutes before we received our food but it was so worth it! This specific location has a very challenging parking lot. Interior seating as well as outdoor seating with umbrellas. Service was friendly and helpful. We met old neighbors for lunch at Mendocino Farms. None of us had been there before. Their menu is an electronic screen and a couple of items said "Sold Out" including both soups covering their names, but the cashier said they had the soup and the menu hasn't been updated. Really? You order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. I ordered a half "Not So Fried" Chicken sandwich and a side of their Spicy Curried Couscous. My husband ordered The Farm Club. His sandwich came on seeded honey whole wheat bread that did not hold up to the ingredients. He had pieces of bread and filling all over his platter. It was a bit of a mess. My sandwich came with a side of "golden BBQ sauce" and "mustard remoulade." I tasted them and they were both quite tasty, but did not add either to my sandwich as it was already really moist. The couscous had a nice kick to it. Our friends seemed satisfied with their choices, a salad for her and a wrap for him. It was very noisy inside so made it a bit difficult to carry on a conversation. And let's talk about the parking, it's absolutely atrocious. We arrived at 11:30 a.m. on a Tuesday after the UC Davis quarter had ended. Luckily we were in our EV and were able to get one of the low emission vehicle spaces, though many of those spaces were taken by gas guzzlers. By noon cars were circling and circling looking for spaces. After lunch we walked over to Trader Joe's and the parking situation was even worse. When the several remaining food places open for business soon, it's only going to be worse. Because of the parking situation, we probably will not return to Mendocino Farms and The Collection, though I've already made plans to go there (a different restaurant) for lunch this Thursday with a friend. When you're trying to eat right a little bit healthier this is a great option! We placed an order online, it wasn't quite ready when I got there.. but not because anyone was slacking... everyone was hustling inside. This place was super busy and super clean. The manager was working her tail off behind the counter right along side everyone else... and everyone was pleasant. This was a great experience for my first time at the Davis location. Upon entrance, I was promptly greeted by a cashier at the register. As as a first-time goer, I received plenty of suggestions that would satisfy my spicy cravings. Employees were beyond kind and patient with my navigating of the menu. The dining area was fairly clean, both inside and out, and the overall decor of the place was fairly tidy! The only knock would be one the self-serve station, where the drink aerators and utensils/straws/napkins were nearly empty. The Peruvian Steak was extremely juicy, warm, and was perfectly complimented by the spicy aji amarillo sauce. The sandwich itself wasn't too oily, cheese was freshly melted, and the potato roll tasted quite fresh. When dining at Mendocino's, you definitely get the quality that you pay for, at $15.95 (pre-tax) for the steak sandwich. Although at this price point, the sandwich was on the smaller end. So happy to see this place in Davis. I loved their sandwiches whenever they catered a meeting at my former job. Today was my first time experiencing them on location. The place is very open, spacious and casual. Ordering at the counter is quick and efficient, but very friendly. You then scan a QR code at your table and input your table number, and your food arrives quickly, and with a smile. Soft Opening! The service was above and beyond, extremely attentive, warm, and welcoming. They have a fantastic training program that provides consistent experience at all the locations I've been to. Hot Honey Peach and Prosciutto sandwich, the chili aioli and hot citrus honey was delicious and the portion size of prosciutto was generous. The peach was sized thick, but surprisingly works well. Turkey Avo Salsa Verde sandwich comes toasted to perfection, love the hot turkey with the Gouda and cotija, the salsa verde that came on the side was delicious. The Farm Club is a classic sandwich, clean and fresh. The Basil Pesto Shells side salad is phenomenal, bright and flavorful pesto. The Kale and Apple Rainbow Salad is sweet and sour and crunchy, a nostalgic taste of green apple slices in elementary school but more refined. The Davis location recently catered lunch for our Woodland offices and both the food and the service was 10/10. The delivery driver (Marcus...from Deliver That) arrived prior to the delivery time and I was still in meetings. Marcus called, I shared that I was across campus in meetings and that I'd find someone to meet him to retrieve the order. I reached out to Admin but Marcus was already two steps ahead, having spoken to someone in Admin who took him to the specific conference room (shout out to Marcus!). On to the eats: I enjoyed the Farm Club and oh my goodness, amazing choice! Roasted turkey, smashed avocado, applewood smoked bacon, tomatoes, pickled red onion, greens and a lovely herb aioli. The portions are big. It took me awhile to finish one half and every bite was worth it. The molasses cookie was soft and delicious. I was surprised to see a Mendocino Farms when visiting my mother in law for the holidays (Thanksgiving). (It's been a while since I was pregnant and then had my son). This location wasn't as big as other locations however had the signature modern clean look and was nicely lit. By default I always liked Mendocino Farms - even more after using the create your own sandwich. For my son, we ordered him the chicken tenders with apple slices and bottle of water. We ordered the create your own, as we like to add pickled radishes and green onions to what we eat. The staff were friendly and very hospitable. They came by to check if they could help take the dishes. And we also got a coloring page with crayons. We would come again. read more

The tables were mostly packed as well but we managed to get a table. I think I'll either come right before lunch rush or after next time. It was good -- well put together, nothing to complain about -- but not the kind of meal that had me thinking about it the next day or planning a return trip. That said, I've only scratched the surface of the menu. I'd come back and work through more of it before writing this place off. Outside seating is available and dog-friendly, which is a plus. We visited on a warm day but the umbrellas kept it comfortable. If you're bringing your dog, you're set. Worth a visit. Not-so-fried chicken sandwich was a bit underwhelming considering it's probably their most popular sandwich, but definitely get the peruvian steak sandwich! Super juicy and flavorful. Basil pesto shells are just ok. Their drink selection is limited to their in-house drinks like teas and lemonades, such as a guava lemonade. The service is outstanding! Super helpful and incredibly kind and attentive. When I asked for extra sauce for a sandwich, they even remembered which sandwich I got off the top of their head!
