    Ocean view from the room.

We got some businesses to take care of in the Point Arena. But we couldn't find a vacancy during the 4th July long weekend. So by luck, we found this nice hotel in Gualala. The check-in was smooth and the complimentary sparkling cider was welcoming. Just like Michael (front desk manager or owner?) said the room had great ocean view, we were pleasant surprised by the quality of the room (very quite and warm), and the architecture design (vaunted ceiling, fire place). The only reason it gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the tepid shower water and unpractical jacuzzi tub. Other than that, it is a nice place to stay when you drive through coastal highway 1.

We stayed for one night and it was awesome. The staff was great. The room wasn't fancy but very clean. That is important in my book. The room and grounds were well kept. We sat on the deck and watched a parade of whales go by. The price was great for what we got. We've paid twice as much for a dump. The lady that checked us in complimented us on our car and advised us not to park where I did because of the trees dropping sap. I really appreciated that. This place seems to be well run and taken care of. We liked it so much we are going to buy a night there for our son and his girlfriend. If had to say anything negative it would be there wasn't enough TP supplied but I'm sure If I had asked it would of been supplied. Overall a great value and a thumbs up.

First time staying at Seacliff, would definitely go back! I stayed in an upstairs room that had a beautiful ocean view, deck, comfy bed, gas fireplace, jacuzzi, microwave and mini fridge. It was perfect place to hang out for a few days and press reset. As a single woman, I felt safe there and walking around the area. Friendly staff too.

Crashing waves lull us to sleep... This view is from our private deck and the reason we keep coming back.

We come here year after year because the location and views are incomparable. Below our huge windows the Gualala River empties into the Pacific Ocean. We sleep with the door to our private deck open so we hear the surf all night. It's great during whale watching season but the birds are here year round to put on a show. You can walk anywhere in town in minutes. The room isn't fancy but each room has a large spa tub and a fireplace. I recommend you ask for an upstairs room for the best experience. You'll thank me.

I went there to get away from sheltering in place for too many months with my family! It was everything I had hoped for. The room was spacious and remarkably clean, the view divine, the bed was super comfy, the gas fireplace was a treat and of course the balcony and jacuzzi tub took it over the top! Even during this C-19 time there were places in town to get food to go. Surf market within a short walk, is the best. Easy driving to wonderful beach walks and hikes. Oh, did I mention the grey whale that was PLAYING IN THE SURF??? I want to live there!!! Seacliff, take me away!!!!

Friendly staff, and beautiful property. I almost don't want to brag about it because it will be harder to make reservations again!!

I realized one thing. Things are good where is love. THIS PLACE HAVE LOVE! No more words needed. 205$ per night, wonderful view, cozy room and jacuzzi. 100% better than 120$ for motel room across the road. Thank you guys, I had my best weekend ever!

When I told friends of mine in San Francisco that I was staying the weekend in Gualala, no-one had any idea where I was talking about. It seems few people go much further north on Hwy 1 than Jenner. Gualala is remote and it takes a strong stomach to get there. Yes, I mean stomach because of all the winding curves on Hwy. 1 will test your tolerance of motion sickness.. Of course if you can survive the drive without losing your lunch, then it is well worth the visit. There are a few hotels in the area but having stayed at Seacliff On the Bluff I'd look no further. We stayed on the second floor which I'd completely recommend because you'll get a better view of the ocean plus you'll get to enjoy the spacious vaulted ceilings of your unit. Additionally, our room came with a very comfortable bed and a huge bathtub that doubled as a jacuzzi. Sleeping won't be an issue because you'll be lulled into a slumber by the waves crashing on the beach about 100 yards away. I've honestly never slept better. If you are up for a hike, there is a trail right behind the complex. From there I believe you can walk to a beach access south of town. I've read a few comments about the lack of cellular service. I guess these people have AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile. We have Verizon and didn't have a problem - can you hear me now? I didn't do a speed test on the free Wifi service but it for sure was faster than dial-up. The owner/innkeeper was very helpful and nice which is always a bonus. If you are looking for a nice, clean, spacious room with a spectacular views and sounds of the Pacific then look no further than Seacliff on the Bluff.

Three burgers with fries, a round of cocktails (they make a basil martini that was nice actually if you can get beyond the fluorescent green color it produces) and a pair of deserts. The burger was fine and for $25 ($3 extra for white cheddar cheese, bacon or avocado) including fries or a salad pretty much what you'd expect for the area price wise. It was good. The cocktail was decent too and the deserts just okay. We had some ginger cake that was way too dry IMHO and the scoop of ice cream is a tulip shaped cookie was better. In general an interesting looking place that we've heard mixed things about for the main dining room fare but for a burger in the bar area a decent option vs the lodge etc. Personally I think the Sea Ranch Lodge is currently doing a better job with their menu and newish chef in the kitchen... I held off on pictures this visit.... Close yer eyes and imagine.

Our cozy cottage was clean with a great view of the garden and ocean. The bed is very comfortable and the provided space heater helped kept us warm at night. I love that it had a full kitchen so you can cook delicious meals with fresh ingredients such as the daily delivered eggs straight from the chickens and greens you pick from the garden. If you want a break from cooking or want a meal prepped for when you arrive, you can add in the option of a dinner or picnic basket to your reservation as well. For the activities such as chicken chat and goat gab we weren't able to attend; it was raining pretty heavily during our stay so we opted to stay indoors and enjoy the cozy cabin. For the moments where the rain would stop, it was nice to explore the land, making stops by the bunnies and chickens with our dogs. Definitely planing on coming back! Would love to experience Mar Visita during the spring or summer!

There are two sections of parking, depending on which room you are staying in. They are well marked based on which room you stay in and don't require a long walk. I recommend to have directions saved and to look up ideas on where you want to go before you leave. There will be little to no signal once you leave the property. Had a fantastic dinner at Izakaya Gama (be sure to make reservations ahead of time) and went to The Record afterwards for a drink. There was a live band and so much positive energy. The view and surrounding area were beautiful, and Miren was kind to communicate with us, but there were several issues that made us uncomfortable staying. Check-in communication was difficult and we waited hours for a response. Some listed amenities were unavailable during our stay, including the jacuzzi. Beach access was also not directly accessible from the property because the stairs were damaged from a previous storm, so guests had to drive about 0.5 miles away, pay for parking, and walk in from another access point. The Whale Watch Room/community area was nice, but the kitchen setup was very limited. The biggest concern for us was the condition of the room itself. We noticed what appeared to be black mold in multiple areas, including near the window coverings and bedding, and at that point we no longer felt comfortable staying overnight. We chose to leave and drive back home instead.
