Lovely little spot. We checked in later in the afternoon stayed for one night just a few weeks ago. The gentleman at check in was very nice explained the details and where our room for the night was. Took our breakfast order - loved that a little breakfast was included! Room was simple but clean and had everything you need! Everything was in working order and we enjoyed a lovely quiet evening on the coast in Point Arena and slept wonderfully. Breakfast was brought to our room the next morning, we got the breakfast sandwich and the oatmeal simple but great bite. Would recommend to anyone wanting a clean lovely place to stay while on the Mendocino Coast. Nice to be central and get to walk around the town from here. They truly appreciate you being there and we look forward to going back! read more

My boyfriend and I didn't realize a lot of the small costal towns close everything early. We are wing it type people and live for adventure. We couldn't find a hotel and I stumbled on the wildflower on google. It was late when I called and Jeff the owner answered. He had a few rooms and told us to come on by and to drive safe. We were welcomed by the kind owner. I am always a little weary of motels but this place was a huge surprise. Not only was the energy in this place so positive but this place was the cutest. Each room is named after a wildflower and there are wildflower bushes across the small property. Upon our check in Jeff informed us about coffee and tea, then asked us to pick our complimentary breakfast that was delivered to our room in the morning. My boyfriend had the yummy breakfast sandwich and I had the vegetable tartine. All locally sourced meat and produce was used. Oh and for breakfast desert the best little chocolate chip cookies that were to die for. Entering our room it was clean to a T, the bed was very comfortable, bathroom was great. After our breakfast in bed, we grabbed coffee and chatted a bit with Jeff. He told us about some great spots to go and visit. After our little costal trip we tried to rebook with Jeff but sadly they were all booked up. We will definitely be staying in our favorite little motel in Point Arena in the future. I arrived to this cute little motel in Point Arena and it was very clean for the parking lot and the walk up to the reception. A nice lady checked me in and told me of the rules for the stay. No parties, no extra people, only enough parking for guests. You can order a breakfast item for two people, the third person is $12 extra, from a list on a menu for the food to be brought to your room in the morning on the time of your choosing. It was different but really nice. Take a few of the k cups from the tea and coffee offerings at the reception area to your room for coffee and your room. The room is very clean and we had double beds. Very clean bathroom. It's very quiet here also and within walking distance to everything in this tiny town. Excellent in every way! We visited mid October so my review is long overdue, but it bodes well that I still clearly remember the experience. The Wildflower Boutique Motel was special - we appreciated the contemporary simple design and beautiful woods, the owner Jeff, has a great eye for detail, and as ex designers, we appreciated that. Loved our breakfast being delivered to our door each morning, I chose Tartine with goat cheese and the package was topped with a cookie and the Wildflower label, a nice touch. As I say, the owner obviously put thought into the whole experience. Point Arena is a surprising little town, with wonderful little stores, a Japanese izakaya and a great fish place at the pier. read more

Owner Jeff Hansen has created a 1st class experience at The Wildflower Boutique Motel in Pt. Arena, CA. The location is on Hwy 1/Main St., with easy access to all of the shops, cafes, restaurants. Parking included EV Charging stations for guests, was ample, as was unrestricted Main St. parking. Our Trillium Room was nicely appointed, quiet, beds/pillows/comforters luxurious & comfy. In-room Keurig coffee maker was critical for me ;-), and supplies were readily available in the motel lobby. Free breakfasts were delicious, varied & ample servings, delivered on time. Staff were friendly, attentive & accommodating. Key tourist sites were within easy driving distance. The Pt Arena Lighthouse a must-see, as was The Wharf. The entire town was really welcoming. Jeff has Sunday NYT & San Francisco Chronicle available for guests to read, and he was a generous host with local recommendations. We'll definitely be back! read more

Looking for a perfectly located hotel while traveling along the western coast? Well, let me recommend this place to you. It's new with modern rooms and sits downtown with access to all the quaint restaurants, boutiques, and coffee shops. Add to it a warm and knowledgeable staff (if you have questions, they'll have answers!) and it makes for a great over night. This motel was recommended to me by a friend in the area. I couldn't have been more pleased. The rooms are quiet, spacious, and filled with all the commodities one could need (i.e. fridge, tv, split ac/heater unit...etc.). I love the unique barn doors they have that separate the bathroom from the bedroom. And while talking about beds, it was like sleeping on a cloud! It was the perfect spot to rest our weary heads after having a full day out with friends. Their breakfast is unique. They offer four items to meet most dietary needs. I went for their breakfast sandwich and my husband tried their oatmeal. Both filled us up so well that we didn't eat well into the later afternoon. They also provide a signature wildflower-shaped cookie that we actually saved and munched on later. The only reason I didn't give this place a five star rating is their parking situation. When they are full, they don't have enough spaces to accommodate their guests and you have to park on the street. They are upfront about this fact when you check in. I had to make last-minute travel arrangements and discovered this little gem in Point Arena!. Making reservations was easy and upon arrival I was greeted by friendly folks in a beautiful open lobby. They made every effort to honor and protect their staff and visitors with careful COVID-19 precautions. When I got my key and went into my room I was delighted to find such a beautiful space. Each room is named after a native plant and the room is themed after each of the native plants. My room had a beautiful deep bathtub and ample space for my things. Plenty of hot water, in room coffee, lots of cable channel choices, and comfortable bed! The breakfast was incredible! I highly recommend the bagel egg sandwich. When you arrive you choose your breakfast and time you want it delivered to your room the next morning. It was right on time, warm and delicious. This motel is right downtown Point Arena. Walking distance to the Cafe, General store and several restaurants. The town does shut down early so make sure to get out and get dinner if you arrive after 6 PM. I would absolutely stay here again. I only wished I'd taken some photos. The wife and I drove up from the Bay Area to visit an area friend last Friday. Pt. Arena just isn't a very large town (although one of California's smallest incorporated), so while it has a surprising amount of locations that appeal to the intelligent (functioning library, free book exchanges, cafes with signs proclaiming they're trespassing on Native American land, etc.), up until recently the only option was down by the wharf (which seems fine enough in its own way, but not within walking distance of town for most). Hence this Motel is a great fit - not just for those visiting the locals, but as an alternative to pricier (and more congested) locations up and down Highway 1. The inn itself is kept up immaculately - no COVID or other such worries here. Room was very clean and comfortable, and the experience was topped off by a very scrumptious breakfast - kept us going for the drive home and beyond. When the town's restaurants do open up, it's just a few minutes walk to pretty much all of them - as it is, you can still get an outstanding chai latte just across the street. One suggestion: The deck is a great idea, and could be awesome, but perhaps install a heat lamp for the town's many cold nights? read more

Honestly I was thinking 4 or 5 stars but I don't want to be the first person to give them a non-5 star rating ; ) Start with the owner/operators. Super friendly and nice, very customer service oriented. Our room wasn't ready when we checked in, so rather than making us wait they moved us to another room right away. It was a Sunday night, so they helped us with the rather limited dining options as well. The room was small but had a nice TV that was placed in a spot where you could actually watch it comfortably. The bathroom was new and immaculate. Easily the nicest, cleanest hotel bathroom I've ever had. And yes, the breakfast sandwich rocks. You also get some fresh fruit and a cookie. All delivered to your door whenever you want, can't beat that. If we're in the area again we will definitely stay here again. read more

Everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable. The shower pressure was great. Best of all, the room had some hand-hewed wood shelving and bedside tables that were really beautiful. Plus, each room was named for a local wildflower and featured beautiful photos of that flower in the room. Really good, healthy breakfast choices delivered to the room. I love the little village of Pt Arena. There's a wharf with a couple of restaurant choices and a healthy food co-op with a little cafe in town. What more could you want? read more

We had an absolutely fantastic stay!! We weren't expecting much, since it was our first time staying the night in Point Arena, and the lodging choices are limited, but boy were we surprised at what a gem the Wildflower is! We stayed on Halloween night in 2020, and didn't even realize that the motel had just opened in August. Everything was done so beautifully and no detail was overlooked, from the welcoming check-in experience (including complimentary snacks), to the wonderful rooms (all named after different wildflowers), to the comfortable beds, to the Beekman 1802 soap and shampoo products in the bathrooms. The included made-to-order and fresh breakfast sandwiches were amazing and such a nice surprise! The owners spared no expense and it really shows. The Wildflower Boutique Motel was absolutely the nicest motel we've ever stayed in and I would not hesitate to stay here again. A very quaint and newly updated motel along the coastal RT 1 of Mendocino county, CA. Point Arenas is somewhat remote but this motel is in an excellent location in the main business district part of this small town. The owners are very hands on and they have a very Welcoming and hospitable staff. I had a delicious choice of breakfast every day during my stay. The rooms are all very clean and updated. We stayed at Wildflower for the second time this Thanksgiving--got the last room--and once again found it very comfortable, quiet, and attractive. There's beautiful craftsmanship in the room--woodwork of the finest. The breakfast is included and brought to room--you have to order it the night before with the hour you want it delivered. Freshly made and tasty. You make your own coffee but there are places in town within quick walking distance to get good coffee and--when the bakery is open--beautiful pastries. The gracious restaurant next door serves small plate Asian style food and is very popular. The drive to the pier takes a few minutes. Powerful cliff overlooks the ocean. Surfers galore, fisherfolk, and a restaurant and shops, and locals swear the air is the freshest in California. read more

Bravo! The owners of this motel have really done a great job, renovating it for more than 5 years, with every detail covered. The rooms are themed with wildflowers (we had the California Poppy Room), with beautiful design, and an obviously caring touch. Breakfast, per your choice from the menu, is brought to your room - delicious. The community should be grateful that the owners brought this motel up to it's fine level of care. Definitely a place to go to, when choosing a vacation stay. And the Manchester State Beach, just down the road, is spectacular! We will be returning here, for sure! read more

We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful hotel this weekend. And the only negative is that we had to go home at the end of the weekend! The room was clean and well updated. The bed comfortable with awesome pillows. The room had a keurig in it and you had your choice of coffee in the lobby. To add to the charm they deliver breakfast to your room at the time of your choice!I highly recommend the breakfast sandwich, out of this world delicious. As if that isn't enough to make you want to come back....the front desk employees are so friendly and helpful, knowledgeable of the area, that you feel right at home! We will be back! read more

What a charming spot! This feels like a re-imagined motor lodge, in the best sense. A place to breathe, re-fuel, and rest. The parking lot full of EV chargers, the fresh, locally sourced breakfast (my GRACIOUS, where did they find such amazing fresh tomatoes in November?!), the comfy bed and bright, well appointed bathroom, the natural wood and sweet wildflower art--everything is unassuming, welcoming, and modern without pretension.
