we were astonished to see blood spots on the comforter. Contacted the manager but the manager Ken replied that this is fresh blood spot. It feels ridiculous and humiliating for this attitude.

The new adult pool, smaller than the main pool, but charming and quiet. Although I do miss the cabanas the main pool has.

What we love is we can consistently rely on the same experience year after year, the same high quality of cleanliness, the same down to earth yet professional customer service, the same peaceful, relaxing, calming experience we always have experienced time after time since 2006. In a sense we don't want to share our experience so that we can have Indian Springs all to ourselves, however it's hard to not brag about them. Anyways, we LOVE this place more than anything!!

My good friend took me here for a spa day to celebrate my birthday and it was amazing from start to finish! When we arrived we were given a quick tour of the women's side and shown the locker room to change into the robes and sandals they provided for us. Now, time for the mud bath! After reading reviews I was a little nervous for this part particularly because people said it can be claustrophobic and you have to be completely naked to do it. So for all my modest girlies, it is OPTIONAL to be naked. We wore our bikinis no problem! However I do recommend wearing a dark color swim suit so the mud doesn't mess it up. Anyways, the mud bath was amaaazingg. It felt like a warm blanket. After that you shower the mud off and are escorted to a hot tub soak for 20 minutes. Here they give you cold water (and always refill it as needed), a pick to get any dirt out from under your nails, and a nice cold towel for your forehead. Next, we were taken to sit in a sauna for around 10 minutes. After the sauna we were taken to the 'blanket wrap' area. You lay on a small comfy bed, they cover you in a blanket, place cold cucumbers and a cold wash cloth on your eyes and you relax there for 15 minutes. This was so nice however it is in the middle of where they are taking guests from the lobby to the mud bath room so it was pretty noisy and hard to relax. We weren't offered any ear plugs either as I've seen some others were. We set up 50min massages right after so it was on to the next from the nap area. This was really a highlight for me. They have a beautiful Buddha pond exclusive to spa guests that is surrounded by chairs to relax in. My massage by Rachel was wonderful! I wish it were longer, she did such a great job. They have the most comfortable massage beds I've ever used. After our massages we got some tea and a blanket and sat by the pond. Very peaceful & relaxing. Finally, we went up to check out the mineral pool. It was the perfect temperature. We were so happy to see they had a small restaurant so we could order some food while we sat by the pool. There was also a separate adults only pool. Cons - - There's no food besides at the pool. The pool pass is $50/day so I'm not sure if you can order food if you don't purchase the pool pass. The spa offers nuts, dried berries, and orange slices. But by the end of our services we were starving for more of a meal. - Bathrooms. There's only one single bathroom on the women's side and if that's occupied then you have to use the only other one on the men's side. Or you can use the ones outside by the Buddha pond. Overall, I would definitely return to Indian Springs Resort! This was a true relaxing spa day that you can't find in many other places in the area.

Indian Springs Resort is a hidden gem. The service was warm and attentive, the quality was top-tier, and the vibe was calming, luxurious, and perfectly low-key. From the natural hot springs to the serene setting, everything felt like a peaceful escape. I wanted to gatekeep this place... but it's just too beautiful not to share. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the price has gone up quite a bit over the years. It used to be more accessible -- now it's definitely a splurge. That said, for a little peace of mind and relaxation, it was absolutely worth it.

This was our second time there and it was absolutely stunning! It was also our first time trying their restaurant for dinner and it was perfect!

    Dingy rooms

Not worth it for the money paid to stay here- VERY overpriced for the mediocre experience- for around $700 a night you get a stuffy and small room with views of the dirt, the stairways and hallways were non-existent because it opens from outside directly into your room. It feels like a motel when the price itself should be a 5-star hotel. There's 2 pools- only one of which is hot springs heated, both of which have dirty water, the lockers are not that clean, and the massage therapists are unprofessional- mine hurt my back while massaging and the pain lasted for a week after. Overall VERY overpriced for a motel experience- the place is very dingy and not at all like it looks on photos.

Coffee and blue skies! The perfect start to the morning.

I had the pleasure of enjoying an overnight stay at Indian Springs. I stayed in the lodge and the accommodations were very nice. The room was clean, updated and the bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed a deep tissue massage which was really nice. I really enjoyed sitting at the Buddha pond after my massage. My favorite part was the pool. The pool was so refreshing and I really enjoyed lounging in the water. The pool is open until 11pm so a night swim is a must! Just remember to grab your robe from the room so you are not walking back in the cold . This was my first experience at a spa resort and i truly enjoyed myself. There are so many places throughout the property to just sit and be still. This place will have you feeling rested and restored. I will certainly be back!

We had a girls' spa day with a mud bath and chakra balancing. I started with the chakra balancing. I was given headphones, a warm neck pillow, and an eye mask. It was pleasant and relaxing. Then I was moved to the mud bath. I was somewhat surprised that it was in the same open area with the soaking tubs, and sauna. The lady who helped me was informative and shared a lot of the history of mud baths, which was nice. Then I was asked to shower the mud off before being taken to the tub to soak. I did not get any add-ons, and it was ok. I felt like the minerals from the mud would be enough. After soaking in the tub, I was taken to the sauna for 7 minutes. After that, I was taken to a cool-down, relaxation room where she placed cucumbers on my eyes and covered them with a mask. I was not offered earplugs, like the lady next to me was. It was loud and disruptive when they brought other people to the same area. After that, I spent time at the Buddha Pond, which was lovely. A few things I think need to be fixed. 1) When getting out of the mud bath, you are asked to walk to the shower without asking if you would like coverage. The mud baths, tubs, showers, and sauna are all in one big room. 2) When getting out of the tub, if other people are soaking in the tub, be mindful of standing between the person getting out of the tub and the one soaking. 3) offer everyone the earplugs 4) Please be mindful of when you bring people into the area to keep voices low versus talking regularly without regard to the people there to relax.

Ask the Community - Indian Springs Resort

Is the mineral pool available for resort guests, even if they don't do one of the spa packages?

Yes, free for hotel guests. Day visitors pay for amenities such as mineral pool. Fees are required for just the pool stated in the hotel information page.

Are the masseuses fully vaccinated against COVID? If some are vaccinated and some are not, is it possible to request a masseuse who is vaccinated?

No for Covid they mostly aren't - I heard this from a former employee a few months ago. Kind of shocking actually.…

Do they offer spa packages? I'm only seeing al la carte treatments but want to be sure.

At this time each treatment is al la carte.

What age do you need to be to have spa services?

18 years old. Thank you Amy for reaching out.

Is it a 2 night minimum stay or you can stay for one night?

We stayed on a Sunday night & there is no minimum night stay. If you stay on a Friday or Saturday night, there is a two night minimum stay.

Can you do couples mud bath with opposite sex?

No, my friend and her husband had to do their mud baths separately. Their facility is only set up for one same sex group at a time. The building is historic with a larger capacity than for just two people, so that makes sense. It's a fun…

Do they accept Apple Pay at snack bar etc?

How much do you charge to use the pool if you're not staying there?

$50 dollars per person, and you need to book a massage as well. Pool use is for 10am-6pm for non-hotel staying guests, later (11pm?) for staying guests. It's worth it to stay there and enjoy the facilities till later in the eve!

Are pool used still warm enough for winter/December?

Absolutely. Steamy. Plenty warm for use when it's cold.

Is there a day pass option?

Day pass is available only as an add on to a spa service.

Is there a secluded clothing optional area...similar to what you'll find at Solage?

No, but check out Orr Hot Springs, that’s clothing optional.

If we purchase a service, is there access to the pool (weekend)?

Yes, last time I was there you have to get a service at the spa in order to use the pool, which is an additional $25 per person. On weekday you have to purchase a spa service and the pool is waived. That's through my last two experiences.

Can you reserve cabanas at the pool?

there are on a first come basis. Never had a problem getting one.

Are babies allowed in the pool?

Yes as long as there not alone

This is a boutique hotel with 33 rooms (I believe) and a few cottages. The main building is a…read more2-story, registered historical landmark. The hotel is over 100 years old and it's maturity is part of its charm. There was some work being performed in a guestroom on the 2nd floor but they worked on it for short periods every day. Love the strategy. There is no insulation on guestroom doors so it's easy to hear conversations and heavy slamming doors. There is no elevator so the 2nd floor doesn't appear to be Accessible. There are rooms on the 1st level however. The jacuzzi was wonderful and hot Tuesday morning but lukewarm on Thursday morning. Front desk staff state every now and then a guest inadvertently turns it off, and did so Wednesday night by pressing the Emergency button (instead of the timer for the jets). Bummer. It took hours for it to reheat. Maybe a sign for the jets could discourage that from happening again. Check In & Staff: Male staff were friendly and helpful - especially Manny!! The hotel does have a luggage cart but it won't help those staying on the 2nd floor since there is no elevator. However 2 of the guys volunteered to follow me outside to the car to retrieve my luggage. Soooo much appreciated! They not only carried them upstairs to my room but came back to carry them again when I relocated to a different room. They wouldn't even except a tip! Thanks guys! My heros. Other staff: The female staff at the front desk wasn't as friendly but maybe she had an off couple days. No eye contact, acknowledgement, or smile. She did engage however when spoken to. All other staff - housekeeping (especially), maintenance, painters, etc., were genuinely friendly and helpful. It made my stay relaxing which was much needed! Thanks again. Breakfast: Staff prepare a daily breakfast tray that's delivered to each room at your preferred time. Breakfast consisted of FRESH and DELICIOUS breads, lemon cake, a tangerine, and a warm pot of mild-blend coffee. Room: Towels were fluffy, soft, good-smelling, and appeared new! The linen and robes were fresh and clean. The room was well furnished and the environment inviting. The bed was on the firm side but was very comfortable. I had to remember not to sit on the edge too long though because the ribbing on the edge of the mattress hurt. There was no bottled water in the room but there was a carafe to be filled with ice/water at the Hydration Station located on the 1st floor. It would have been nice to have a Station upstairs too or bottles of water for upstairs guests. Having a mini fridge and safe in the room was a nice touch. A microwave somewhere for guests (use) would have been nice for reheating leftovers. Window screens would have been nice to enjoy fresh air in the room without bugs. Bathtub stopper should probably be replaced because it was old, discolored, and soiled. Bathroom walls could use a little touch-up paint but none of those issues were big deal breakers for me. The things that could have definitely been better in the room were the loud bathroom fan (and the inability to turn it off independently from the light switch) and the hum from the mini fridge. The fridge clicks on/off 24/7, and at night when its quiet the hum is annoying. Glad I brought adapters for electronics since there are standard electrical outlets only, and no place to plug in USB cords. Check Out: Payment for your room is deducted from your credit card at the beginning of your stay when you check in. To check out you can drop your room keys in the box at the front desk. I chose to wait (10 minutes) for staff to return to the desk for a receipt. Value: I didn't visit the hotel spa this visit. However even with the Spring Special the hotel seems a bit overpriced, and without the spa is probably closer to a 3-star hotel. Caveat though is that everything in Calistoga appears to be overpriced - after all it's a resort town. Love the peace and tranquility though. Overall a really nice stay and I definitely recommend.

I booked our room (initially for checking in on December 19 and checking out on December 21) directly via their website, paying a $233.27 deposit, but after reviewing the Reservation Confirmation, had to reach out to the team because the 15% AAA discount off of the $225/night rate was erroneously calculating to $202.50/night instead of $191.25/night. Guest Services confirmed that there was a glitch in their system and they quickly corrected the error. A couple of days later, I reached out again to request to move our stay dates. The request was granted without issue. HOTEL: Mount View Hotel and Spa is a Mission Revival style boutique hotel and historical Landmark nestled in the heart of Calistoga. No onsite parking lot; however, we were able to easily find free parking nearby. Upon entry, visitors are greeted by the warmth of the inviting lobby and vibrance from its eccentric interiors. With peppy Art Deco décor and furnishings, the inn boasts a charming ambiance that takes guests back to the 1920's and 1930's era. We stayed on the second floor in Room 221, a chic bedchamber with nods to the early 20th century, furnished with a high-quality, comfortable bed, flat-screen television, espresso machine, fridge, and glassware for self-catering. HOTEL SERVICE: The front desk staff, especially Manny, was extremely friendly and helpful. One night, when I couldn't find unmetered parking, Manny assured me that parking overnight in the metered spaces along the front of the hotel on Lincoln Avenue would not trigger a citation, even during the metered times. Seeing that I was apprehensive to do this, he promised to cover the cost of a parking ticket, if I would receive one. He was right; the timed metered parking was not enforced the next day. The complimentary light coffeehouse-style continental breakfast with fresh coffee, tea, fruit, juice and pastries, delivered directly to our room each morning was also very nice. TRUE SPA CALISTOGA: The whimsical accoutrements continue in the spa. No showers, but small, private lockers with robes and slippers are assigned to each patron. Since we were staying at a spa hotel, we booked appointments for restorative spa experiences, for Thursday, the 22nd, at 2:00 PM. It was very convenient to stumble downstairs for facials and revitalizing body treatments + massages. Our appointments were for the Detox + Glow (90MIN) (BODY THERAPIES) package, a relaxing combination of upper body massage (neck, arms, and shoulders) paired with a facial focus using Blue Beautifly Organic Skincare alongside the Bentonite Clay Mud Mask to nourish the body and skin head to toe. 90 minutes for $280 included a fully body massage. I was assigned to technician Rosa Cisneros who was very nice. The sessions were soothing and relaxing; however, Mom and I were confused at the conclusion, thinking that we were still to receive a full body mud mask or wrap, as per the description of the Detox + Glow package. Due to no mud mask, we were given a 15% discount. VERDICT: Mount View Hotel & Spa is a charming establishment and perfect place to slow down time and enjoy a respite.

Solage is nestled right on the Silverado Trail in the heart of Calistoga, and the location is unbeatable--you're basically three minutes from downtown and a short, scenic drive from St. Helena and Yountville. The property itself is stunning. It's got that modern wine-country vibe with about 100 detached studios spread across 20-plus acres. When you're sitting in one of the natural hot spring pools or hitting the cold dips at the spa, it really does feel like world-class luxury. Between the mud slides, the gravity chairs, and the fitness classes, you can easily spend your whole trip without leaving the gates. The Food: Solbar is a must. We had the seven-course New Year's Eve prix fixe with wine pairings over numerous years, and each were equally unique and incredible. It's that perfect balance of farm-to-table "health" food and total comfort dishes. For something more low-key, Picobar by the pool has some of the best Baja-style tacos I've had in NorCal. Plus, the whole place is super dog-friendly, which is a huge win for us. The Experience & Pro-Tip: Definitely book through AmEx Platinum if you can. We used the Fine Hotels + Resorts program and snagged a $300 credit, a late 4 p.m. checkout, and an automatic upgrade. I will say, even "perfect" places have their off moments. This year, despite requesting a room close to the spa months in advance (and confirming twice), they initially tucked us away at the far edge of the property. I wasn't thrilled about hiking across 22 acres in my robe and sandals! I spoke with the front desk, and the concierge actually went back and reviewed my recorded calls to verify the request. They did move us about 30 minutes later to a spot half the distance away, though it lacked the private fenced patio and fireplace of our original booking. I was too tired to keep fighting it and just wanted to get to the spa, so I settled in. Despite that hiccup, the service and the atmosphere here remain some of the best in the world. It's not cheap, but for the memories and the access to Napa's best vineyards, it's worth it every time. Can't wait to be back next year.

Compared to Stanly, the rates for rooms were more expensive while I felt the Stanly offered a much better campus. Despite the comments about the campus, the food onsite was pretty good and the reviews will be posted in their respective pages. The room service could have been better as they missed delivery of the pre-ordered breakfast in the morning as the night shift didn't properly fill in the order request and didn't get placed, but the team quickly remedied the situation and delivered not too long after our original request time. The rooms were comfy with a good layout, but the garden out back were covered with fences and it didn't feel as freeing as Stanly Ranch's rooms where the back patio is uncovered. Overall, I'd visit Stanly or Auberge du Soleil when going back to the Napa area.
