I order some fragrances samples from you website...I got the samples in a couple days, but when I put them on a strip of paper and I noticed there was a strong odor of something similar to wood and fingernail polish remover, fragrances aren't supposed to smell that harsh and obnoxious like that, I've sampled enough fragrances to know there are no notes which I know of which smell like fingernail polish. it wasn't just one...they all had whatever that chemical was.... I haven't ordered from you before that so I'm not sure if it was a one time thing. Whatever was sent to me was not cologne...I don't want a refund because it was only $24, but I would like you to find out what that was you sent me because it smells very toxic and that's s not an exaggeration, someone in my fragrance group mentioned your company, so i hope this was an isolated incident because If that's what you're sending out to people, you should be invested because I've bought counterfeit cologne before, but it was only water down, whatever that was in those viles and decanters were harsh and I'm not sure of the effect on the skin read more

Q Brothers is kind of an extension of Merz's next door. It's generally men's grooming and shave items but there is some stuff for the ladies too - mostly facial products, perfumes and some fancy soaps. If you want to upgrade your shave experience - this is your place! They've got safety razors, multiple kinds of blades for the same, straight razors and every shave product you can imagine. There's something for every pocketbook too - from basic to ultra high end. The owners are super passionate about this store and what they sell - expect solid, helpful advice without any attitude. There's a little more breathing room in here versus Merz's next door. The interior is bright and welcoming with lots of vintage touches. I've heard through the grapevine that Q Brothers is a must-visit if I'm in Lincoln Square, so I finally checked it out. I'm glad I did. I have become familiar with a lot of brands by name only (Speick, Irisch Moos to name a couple) through my research into these grooming products online, but of course you're not going to find anything like this at Target or Walgreens. Straight razors are no longer just for murderess psychopaths. I got to admit the straight razors looked pretty damn cool. Can't get a better shave than having one done with a straight razor. But, given that, I wasn't sure what 90 percent of the stuff in the store was for. Everything looked of great quality and smelled bro-tastic. But, a makeup counter for men? I had flashbacks to the makeup counters at Macy's with women fussing over their nails and putting on their faces. I was temporarily gender confused. Q Brothers, Merz's next door extension, although geared more toward men's grooming, is still worth a look for the ladies. Besides, after looking through the facial products and perfumes for myself, I found some great gifts for the hubs. Father's Day is coming up! So my husband decided to keep his beard. I would have loved to purchase one of the cool, fancy razors for him to shave it all off, but instead, because I am a good wife and stopped nagging about facial hair and try now to "embrace the beard", found some grooming products for his facial hair. My son loves that we got him some "shampoo for his beard". There is a huge array of facial shampoo, conditioners, oils, waxes and combs to help neaten up any kind of facial hair men like to sport. For those that do shave their face, there is a lot of shaving products and after shave products to keep the skin healthy and feeling good. Service is friendly. The staff is very knowledgeable. My friend was looking to enhance her daily facial routine and the saleslady was more than helpful. My friend also got to sample some of the serums to test and see what she liked best. WORST STAFF I've ever encountered. This review should say -5 stars. My boyfriend and I stopped in twice in 2 weeks. Both times he made purchases, yet both times he was completely ignored. And when he finally asked for assistance, 1 employee begrudgingly showed him to the incorrect section of the store. The woman who seemed to be in charge ROLLED HER EYES when my boyfriend "interrupted" her conversation with the other employee by cashing out. God forbid. I'm definitely not the kind of shopper who ever asks for assistance. Simple acknowledgement and a "let me know if you need help" is all I need. We couldn't even get eye contact. Wet Shave HEAVEN! If you are a wet shave aficionado, daily shaver or just starting your wet shaving hobby you have to check this place out! I've been wet shaving for a couple of months and always ordered my products from many of the great websites online. Now I don't have to as you can sample anything before buying! They have a tremendous selection of shave soaps, pre-shave oils, post shave balms, brushes, blades and razors (single, double edge, shavette and straight)! Kent brushes are 20% off right now! They also have a nice selection of bowls, cases, and stands! I don't think I ever saw a great selection of shave soaps online as I did here at Q Brothers! They have many of the top English and French soaps as well. The staff is tremendous, Tanya, Ramon, and Kirk were very knowledgeable in all facets of the wet shave industry. Tanya even recommended her German Girl homemade pre-shave oil which is fantastic by the way! They have many colognes, body soaps, shampoos and facial creams as well. I just could not get past all of the wet shaving soaps on my first visit here! My favorite shaving soap brands available here are: Soap Commander, Catie's Bubbles, Reef Point, Phoenix Artisan, Mitchell's and Taylor of Old Bond Street. Was in Merz to buy some cosmetics I have purchased before and found they had relocated this section to Q Brothers. I asked the female blonde sales associate if they had any more of an item in stock that I couldn't find on the shelf. She took away the tester from the shelf (so no one else will ever dare bother her with this question again). Then said with an eye roll 'I could give you a call when we have it, but I have no idea when that will be.' Well that sounds just great, super helpful, wonderful customer service...can't wait to come back. Why would I return when I can buy online and know when it will arrive? I like supporting small business and have never had any issues next door at sister store Merz Apothecary this is just about Q Brothers. This is a wet shavers dream (see what I did there). If you are a seasoned veteran or a newbie this shop will do the trick. Stopped in on a Monday so it was pretty dead, which was favorable for me. I hopped on the brown line at Fullerton and got off at the Western stop; a few short steps north of Leland Ave and into the pedestrian zone of Ravenswood is where I headed. I was greeted with a large neon sign on the facade of the building informing me I had made it. Looked through the window to see some soap commander offerings and I was happier than a kid in a candy store. Upon entering I was greeted with an extremely midwestern feel; 1920s tile, tin ceiling bays and an open beam ceiling, and the radiator cranking. I started to browse the selection when Ramon approached to see if I needed any assistance. We started chatting about the products and what we like, what we use, what we would like to try, etc. Almost every soap/balm/splash has a tester which you can open and smell, and I found myself doing that to almost everything. They offer some artisan products (Stirling, Soap Commander, Fine, The Holy Black, Catie's Bubbles, WSP, Floid, Dr. Jon, etc) as well as the more mass produced stuff (TOBS, Pinaud, Tabac, Proraso, Nivea, etc). DE blades are represented well with most of the common and some uncommon names (Derby, Feather, Lord, Shark, Gillette, Astra, etc). DE razors were diverse, too (Merkur, Ikon, Rockwell, Fattip, etc). I can't speak to the straight razors but there were a lot of theme as well as strops. Brushes were varied in hair - boar, badger, synthetic. I didn't browse the other grooming items or the parent store Q brothers is connected with but one can easily spend hours in here browsing and spending a weeks paycheck. Ramon was super knowledgeable about the products (he is a wet shaver so he's not an uneducated salesman that doesn't know what he's talking about rather he's an enthusiast who knows a great deal). The wet shaving community was represented well here and the overall ambiance was stellar. I highly recommend stopping in here and getting lost. If you struggle with shaving make the switch to wet and fall down the rabbit hole. You're welcome. read more

I like a nice, full, trimmed, kept up beard on a man, but I can't stand the beards that look like unkept pube bushes I've been seeing lately. Sometimes, this is why I don't want to step one foot outside my house, hahaha I crack myself up. Anyways, anyone with a beard, I mean anyone, should check this spot out. They have so many products for you to groom your beard, you're bound to be rockin a sharp Paul Bunyan in no time (I'm referring to his beard). They even have shaving creams, brushes, and razors if you're done sporting any sort of facial hair. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they had some products for ladies and I ended up buying a face wash and cream by Dr. Hauschka, whom provides all natural skin care. One of the little bottle I bought was $80, just a warning. The woman that helped me pick these out was very helpful and very knowledgeable. Have always loved shopping at Merz and Q Brothers is a great extension of that -- great and funky selection of great products. Love the soaps and skin creams and shaving lubes but love going for the actual beard products -- the oils and the brushes. Testers out so you can actually smell a product that you need to smell before you buy; after all, you will be putting it on your face, next to your mouth and under your nose.
