Initially coming here, I wasn't quite sure what to expect since it was our first visit. My two teenage sons had prom coming up in about 3 1/2 weeks, and we were assisted by the manager, Aaron. At first, the interaction felt a bit awkward. He asked if we were ready to make a purchase before even completing my second son's measurements or allowing them to try on suits. I explained that we weren't committed to buying just yet--we wanted to make sure both of my sons found something they liked, as I didn't want to go to two different places. Since measurements are necessary before trying anything on, the approach felt a little rushed and slightly pressured before we even had a chance to fully understand the rental process, available options, or pricing within our budget. Once both of my sons found suits they liked, the experience shifted in a more positive direction. However, during the measuring and fitting process, we were interrupted several times because Aaron had to step away to assist at the front desk. While I understand a manager may need to step in when necessary, there seemed to be enough staff available, and it would have been helpful to have another associate assist us to avoid the repeated interruptions. What likely could have been a 45-minute process ended up taking closer to an hour and a half to two hours. We were informed that payment was required upfront, which was fine, as we were already in the system and planned to return later in the week to complete everything. Aaron did provide us with a detailed copy of our order, which we appreciated since we were doing a full head-to-toe rental (everything except undergarments). After that, the process felt smooth and well-organized. We were told we could return the suits to any location, which was especially convenient since we would be in Irving for prom. Pricing is on the higher side--especially during prom season, which I understand is their busiest time--but they did offer a promotional discount that made it more manageable. Most importantly, my sons looked amazing. The suits were pristine, well-pressed, and overall a great choice for such a special occasion. One note: my oldest son's suit could have been sized down slightly, so I'd recommend making sure you're completely happy with the fit before leaving. They do offer overnight exchanges if needed, which is a great option--just be sure to allow enough time and consider picking up early to avoid any last-minute stress. Overall, despite a slightly rocky start and some interruptions, I would recommend them if you're looking for a convenient, one-stop shop for formalwear. read more

Really disappointed today. I've been shopping here for years and have always had great service so I came in on the weekend to a different location which was slammed and I said I will just wait till during the week and go in first thing before it gets busy. Not one person helped me. Not one. I had to come over to the rental counter to ask for assistance and he said someone would be with me so while I was waiting and he was on his cell phone, I started shopping looking for what I thought I wanted. Ended up helping myself to the dressing room trying it on coming out to the mirror. Going on FaceTime with the wife to get an opinion. I saw other associates around and I did see them talking to other people, but not even so much as a check in of hey as soon as I am done with this customer I will come check on you. Is everything okay?? Nothing. Went up to pay and the associate apologized and said he is in rentals and it's store policy to stay behind the rental counter and he went and told the other guys I needed help. I told him hey I wanted to get a shirt and a tie too but no one was helping me at all so I am just going with this. He tried to reinforce the company policy of him standing there. I said look, I get it, but maybe you can pass up to management that sure they got this sale, but they missed out on add ons and after this... if it's all self service now with the new policy... why even go in the store? We reserved looks for our small wedding but when we went to try them on the flexible size situation did not work for us. They apparently size their pants to cover a range of 3 sizes which doesn't work for my husband's athletic build (muscular legs and glutes and a relatively smaller waist) leaving the only option baggy and sloppy looking. They were very busy when we were there and unable to offer any alternatives. read more

From getting fitted to me bringing back the tuxedo without the bag to having to come back the following day for cash I left inside my pocket he was extremely generous and patient. Poor customer service. I had to search the store for my sales person 2 times....and I was the only customer in the store. at one point they were all working in the back with no-one on the floor. Another associate came out and asked me if I was ready to check out. I said no but wanted customer service and could he find the sales associate. Terrible customer service or I guess I should say non existent. Went on a Sunday to find my fiance a tux for our wedding. Walked in and no one greeted us, there were barely any workers there. We waited for 10-15 minutes and walked out. Came back two days later on a Tuesday just now and same thing. A lady is standing there folding clothes and says nothing to us. And guy came and said he'd be right with us. He was tending to everyone else and never came back to let us know an updated time frame or anything. We were completely ignored and disregarded. Place is pretty good if you have some time on your hands. They don't really follow their "appointments" I was waiting for mine for about 30-45 minutes after. Anyways, once I got help - I believe her name is Kay..she did fantastic! I really appreciated the way she helped me & was just so patient. She kept everything & made the fitting a BREEZE. The worst customer service ever !! Don't go if this was my business and that was my manager I would fire him! He's so rude just a mean person. I made an appointment for 12:30 I had no help until 1:20 and honestly it wasn't even help the girl at the front counter told him that he had an upset customer and he didn't care. The absolute worst customer service and might I add racist. Had we not already spent over 1k+ on suits for the groomsmen we would have went somewhere else. We originally placed the entire in-person order at MW in Colorado (amazing sales and representatives here too)! Because the assistance (if there was any) was absolutely horrific, we ended up at Men's warehouse in Mission Valley to complete our order. This is an updated review - please see my first one to get an idea of how my first experience was here. Came in a second time with my boyfriend to pick up his suit for a friend's wedding. Mind you, our experience with the associate who took my boyfriend's measurements for the suit seemed like he was inexperienced during our first visit. This time around, we were skeptical and were expecting to book a last minute retail service prior to having my boyfriend try on the suit for the final fitting before bringing it home with him. We were pleased to see it fit perfectly! We were helped by a completely different associate and he made our visit pleasant. HYPES: the women in this store were kind and asked us if we needed help. GRIPES: my fiancé and i were just in here and received poor customer service from the guy who checked us in. we had an appointment at 4pm, arrived early and filled out paperwork. the guy told us there were a couple people in front of us and that he'd be right back. the store practically emptied and the guy never came back to help us like he said he would! it was 4:50pm when i noticed him just folding dress shirts in the back of the store. my fiance went up to him to ask him what's up...only for him to come back to us to tell us the options we were interested in weren't in stock to see them in person. he originally told me only one of the styles were completely out of stock. gosh i'm so pissed that we wasted an hour of our lives at this place. we were under the impression that the guy who checked us in and asked us all the questions and told us he'd be right back would actually come back! otherwise, we woulda gladly been helped by the women who actually checked in on us. when he told us they didn't have the styles in stock for us to see, there was no "let me see what we can do" or any attempt to find a solution. we left so disappointed. Want to like the way you look? Want to have terrible customer service who gaslight you? Come on down to the Men's Wearhouse in La Mesa, California! I made an appointment for 1pm today (January 20th) for measurements and fitting for myself and my best man. I spoke with a sales rep, who greeted me when I walked in at 12:53pm and that I have a 1pm appointment, which he acknowledged. We walked around the store, which does have a nice selection of dress shirts, sports coats, suits, and ties, until it's time for the appointment. 1pm - no associates assist us 1:03pm - an associate walks by and asks if we've been helped yet. We let them know that we have a 1pm appointment. At this point, they went to assist another customer 1:05pm - a separate associate asks us if we've been helped yet, and they do the same thing...leaving us behind. 1:08pm - a third associate asks us if we've been helped and we say "No, we haven't been helped yet for our 1pm appointment." She sighs and reluctantly helps us. She asked my name, which I provided and said that I do not have an appointment today. I have an email verifying the date, time, and location at this Mens Wearhouse; additionally, I received a phone call yesterday (1/19) confirming my appointment for January 20th. This associate doubles down and said that I did not have an appointment at all. Unfortunately, the email verification says otherwise. If you want to dress sharply for a special event or just in general, do not come to this location (unless you want to be treated poorly). You are better off going to Macy's, right across the street, getting a suit off the rack, and then tailored elsewhere. read more

I had an appointment yesterday to get my self and my groomsmen fitted for tuxedos. I arrived promptly 6, one of the employee was on the phone, so we waited at the front desk for our appointment, when he was off the phone he walked away from us with out even acknowledging our existence. I politely said "Excuse me, We have an appointment at 6" where he cut me off and Shushed me and held his hand out like I was a child not even turning around, and walked off to go fold shirts in the back. We waited another 10 min and left the store. I am appalled at this treatment and would not wish it on my worst enemy. read more

"You'll like the way you look, I guarantee it." Man, this couldn't be more wrong unless you like looking terrible in an over priced rental suit. For a business that's sole purpose is suits and men's formal wear, they're terrible at what they do. I had five men come to Men's Warehouse to rent suits for my wedding. They all got fitted about 1-1.5 months before the event, well within the timeline we were told to have it done. Pickup time came the week before the wedding and NONE of the suits fit. I'm not just talking a little snug, or a little big. I'm talking pants above the ankles, waist sizes several inches too small, unable to button jackets, vests, or dress shirts, jacket sleeves that were 3-4 inches too short, etc. This was the result after all of the men had been "measured." I don't know if staff needs training on how to properly measure people, if the shipping department for the rental suits didn't care and sent the wrong sizes, or what. The measurements and suit pickups occurred at the La Mesa and Plaza Bonita locations, and the experience was the same at both. This entire ordeal ultimately put a lot of stress on the groomsmen and myself less than a week before the wedding. There was no attempt to make it right, compensate us for the giant pain, or anything. The only thing they did was overnight suits in a larger size, which luckily they had and they arrived on time. I wouldn't recommend coming here for suit rentals at all if you "like the way you look" because you won't, I guarantee it. read more

The absolute worst! There were 2 people in the store when we arrived and they had us check in so someone can assist us with a fitting. Other than the younger girl that welcomed us in (and let me just add that she was very kind and friendly), there were about 4 other employees that acted like we didn't even exist. No one welcomed us, no one acknowledged us to let us know that someone will be with us shortly. Absolutely nothing!! After waiting about 30min someone finally asked if we needed anything. We told them we were looking for a very basic suit to rent because it wasn't going to be used for long so we didn't want anything too expensive. He said "well i don't think you're going to find anything cheap here!" And rather than asking us about what price range we are looking at or even showing us some options that might interest us, he literally said "well you can try Friar Tux down the street. They're cheaper than we are". There was absolutely no effort made to help us and to be honest, I was offended and felt like they just assumed we couldn't afford their prices. So yes, maybe we will we will go to Friar Tux because I would never pay single penny to rent/buy anything from this place. And btw...as I write this review a few hours after being at this location, my husband's phone still shows that he's 3rd in line for a suit fitting. read more

I came in to get my measurements taken for a tux that I will be renting over seas. Cathy took great care of me, I was fully anticipating to pay or at least tip for the trouble, as I was not there to make any purchases. Cathy insisted that it was not necessary, she took all of my measurements in under 5 minutes then had me try on a few things just to double check the fits and I was gone in no more than 10 minutes. Wife and I came in for a new suite for me. Nobody greeted us, eventually a stock boy overheard my wife and I talking and offered some advice but said he needed to get us a sales associate. Eventually a young kid that looked like he just rolled out of bed approached us. After telling him what I was looking for, he took us to another part of the store, showed me a suit that was the complete opposite of what I asked.
