However, because the dress was covered with lace and a unique bottom edge, the job was much more difficult. She managed to completely move the lace on the entire dress so that the bottom edge was preserved and so that it fit the length needed. The result was a lace dress that looked completely custom made to my height! She also did an amazing job with bustling my dress. STAY AWAY FROM HERE! I went in on a Monday morning and asked them to tailor and hem my slacks for a very important work event on Thursday so it gave them 4 days to work on it. When I got there on Thursday they couldn't find my slacks and after finally finding them, they realized they didn't tailor or hem the slacks. They tried to say they could it do it and have it done later in the day and tried to make it seem like it was my fault for telling them i needed it Thursday and not Wednesday. Please do not go here. They charged me 60 dollars for a jacket to iron on patches and completely ruined the jacket. The customer service is subpar. The letters on the jacket are all crooked also. With our wedding dress he was very late and keeps on casually telling us to come back every few hour and every time we came back to get the dress, the wedding dress is just hanging on the wall. First she said she forgot, than her excuse is that she had an emergency after telling us she forgot. Before the whole deal, we asked her if she can do it. Sadly we found out she is incapable of dealing with wedding dresses at all or keeping professional arrangements. Her sense is very bad and her way of fitting makes the cuts uneven. We didn't even ask for money back because we didn't even want to deal with her. She will take anybody's job, even if she doesn't have time for it. Lost my pants!?! This place used to be good, but not anymore. We were customers for over 5 years and they even did my wife's wedding gown. Even after we moved to Santee we continued to be customers of Classic Tailoring...not anymore. On my last 2 pickups they have struggled to find my items (the place isn't that big so I don't understand how they can be so disorganized) and lost my dress slacks and gave me someone else's pants. The final straw was the owners arguing with me that "tHey CoUlDn't PoSsibLy" mix-up my pants and insisting the ones I received (5 sizes too big in the waist and 3 sizes too big in the inseam btw) MUST BE MINE. At no time did they ever offer any form of service recovery. read more

I found Classic Alteration by doing a yelp search, and I am SO glad I did! My daughter had just flown in from out of town for a wedding this weekend, and tried on her bridesmaid dress for the first time... WAY too big. We needed it altered, and fast! After reading all the good reviews about Classic on yelp, I gave them a call. It was close to their closing time, but Trinh said "Can you Come In Tonight?" so we did. When we got there, she was so friendly and so cheerful, and told us she would work on the dress the next day. I called her at 4:00 the following day - not even 24 hours from when we dropped the dress off, and it was done!!! Wow!!! And the price that she charged us was so extremely reasonable, especially for such a quick turnaround. I was so happy and RELIEVED! ( I was a bit stressed about it prior to finding them, and was actually considering trying to fix it myself before I had found Classic... noooo way I could have done even remotely as good of a job, even if I had time to try!) When we got home, I checked out the work Trinh had done - AWESOME work!!! The stiches were so nice and precise, you can't even tell that there was additional work done on it! Looks like it just came off the store rack, and it fits my daughter PERFECTLY! On top of it all, I'm not exaggerating when I say that Trinh was one of the nicest people that I have met in a long time! I will be recommending Classic Alteration to all of my friends, and will definitely be taking my business there again! (And yes, as the others have stated, bring cash for your payment!) First time here, dropped off pants on a Thursday to be hemmed, she told me they'd be ready by the following Wednesday and I said ok great cuz we need them Thursday morning... Brought wedding dress to be dry cleaned, told me it would be ready on Friday, thankfully I called before I went on Friday and she told me it wasn't ready, and to come back next Tuesday... So I did... And the dress was still dirty. I politely declined taking it and requested it be cleaned again and she told me ok on Friday come get it... Friday I call... And it's not ready again! So I go back the following Tuesday after work and go to pay and she goes, "oh, it's cash only." So now I have to go drive to find a bank to pay for something I've already been back for a few times. VERY irritating. The ONLY reason I did not give less stars (and normally I would), is that Trinh was trying to take care of me and work with me on price and apologized. Her husband...
