I took in 3 items on a Friday morning, Oct 31st, to get altered, and she said the following Friday to be done and I paid her. She hadn't even started working on them as of day of pick up, today Nov 7th. She said "maybe I can start working on them tonight". ‍ very unprofessional. Got my refund and my items back. According to the website, they are open at 0900. I was there at 0930 when they finally opened the door. I went in and was told by the owner that they couldn't measure until 10am as the wife was on the phone (I don't know the conversation as it was not English and I don't speak other languages). I realized that this business was unreliable and chose to look for another business who appreciated new business as I had just moved around the corner. I ended up leaving from the parking lot and googled an alterations near me. I found Star Alterations on Navaho Rd in LA Mesa. I walked in and Tony immediately helped me and will have the alterations done within my timeliness. I recently went to this tailor for the first time and they did a fantastic job. I got three pairs of pants altered and they did it in about a week. Customer service was great as well. For reference, it coast me $90 to have the waist taken in on three pairs of pants, plus the legs taken in on one pair as well. read more

I would highly suggest going some where else. I dropped two comforters off that were white and upon picking them up, they had black spots all over them. I returned nicely asking for a refund so I can clean them myself. I've been back three times and am finally getting a refund but was told in 15 years this has never happened and it's my fault. Trinh did an amazing job altering my wedding dress. Because I am shorter it needed to be shortened significantly. However, because the dress was covered with lace and a unique bottom edge, the job was much more difficult. She managed to completely move the lace on the entire dress so that the bottom edge was preserved and so that it fit the length needed. The result was a lace dress that looked completely custom made to my height! She also did an amazing job with bustling my dress. I highly recommend Trinh to any bride or for any other alteration need. She is so sweet and you can't beat the quality of her work and her prices. read more

STAY AWAY FROM HERE! I went in on a Monday morning and asked them to tailor and hem my slacks for a very important work event on Thursday so it gave them 4 days to work on it. When I got there on Thursday they couldn't find my slacks and after finally finding them, they realized they didn't tailor or hem the slacks. They tried to say they could it do it and have it done later in the day and tried to make it seem like it was my fault for telling them i needed it Thursday and not Wednesday. They over charge and don't even do their job in a timely fashion. It smelled terrible when you walk in and that left my slacks smelling bad too. read more

Please do not go here. They charged me 60 dollars for a jacket to iron on patches and completely ruined the jacket. The customer service is subpar. The letters on the jacket are all crooked also. I had to wait 2 days for a simple hem something that Friars stated would take 1 day to complete and when picked up the slacks were in a ball and not pressed and the lady at the counter was extremely rude. Don't get your clothes cleaned here. My suit, which I dropped off in preparation for a funeral, smells like urine and BO after they "cleaned" it. Even after Febreeze and hanging it out all night, the smell is still there. I take all my dry cleaning and alterations here. I NEVER used to buy anything dry clean only or to be altered, because I felt like it was a lot of work. These guys make it so easy and always do a great job. I especially like Trinh doing my alterations. She pays attention to detail, which I appreciate so much. My experience with Trinh couldn't have been any better. I needed an Armani sports coat and a Kiton dress shirt altered last minute for an event that I had to go to. Because the garments were pricy, I wanted a true professional to alter them, not just anyone. She did it right away and she did it perfectly. With our wedding dress he was very late and keeps on casually telling us to come back every few hour and every time we came back to get the dress, the wedding dress is just hanging on the wall. First she said she forgot, than her excuse is that she had an emergency after telling us she forgot. Before the whole deal, we asked her if she can do it. Sadly we found out she is incapable of dealing with wedding dresses at all or keeping professional arrangements. Her sense is very bad and her way of fitting makes the cuts uneven. We didn't even ask for money back because we didn't even want to deal with her. She will take anybody's job, even if she doesn't have time for it. All four dresses turned out great. Trinh is really great. Her and her husband run the business together. Trinh made the alteration to my wedding dress and she did a really nice job. Lost my pants!?! This place used to be good, but not anymore. We were customers for over 5 years and they even did my wife's wedding gown. Even after we moved to Santee we continued to be customers of Classic Tailoring...not anymore. On my last 2 pickups they have struggled to find my items (the place isn't that big so I don't understand how they can be so disorganized) and lost my dress slacks and gave me someone else's pants. The final straw was the owners arguing with me that "tHey CoUlDn't PoSsibLy" mix-up my pants and insisting the ones I received (5 sizes too big in the waist and 3 sizes too big in the inseam btw) MUST BE MINE. At no time did they ever offer any form of service recovery. read more

I found Classic Alteration by doing a yelp search, and I am SO glad I did! My daughter had just flown in from out of town for a wedding this weekend, and tried on her bridesmaid dress for the first time... WAY too big. We needed it altered, and fast! After reading all the good reviews about Classic on yelp, I gave them a call. It was close to their closing time, but Trinh said "Can you Come In Tonight?" so we did. When we got there, she was so friendly and so cheerful, and told us she would work on the dress the next day. I called her at 4:00 the following day - not even 24 hours from when we dropped the dress off, and it was done!!! Wow!!! And the price that she charged us was so extremely reasonable, especially for such a quick turnaround. I was so happy and RELIEVED! ( I was a bit stressed about it prior to finding them, and was actually considering trying to fix it myself before I had found Classic... noooo way I could have done even remotely as good of a job, even if I had time to try!) When we got home, I checked out the work Trinh had done - AWESOME work!!! The stiches were so nice and precise, you can't even tell that there was additional work done on it! Looks like it just came off the store rack, and it fits my daughter PERFECTLY! On top of it all, I'm not exaggerating when I say that Trinh was one of the nicest people that I have met in a long time! I will be recommending Classic Alteration to all of my friends, and will definitely be taking my business there again! (And yes, as the others have stated, bring cash for your payment!) I have made my third attempt using them and again they failed miserably. I left a shirt to be altered for 7 days. I arrived exactly at the time they asked. Again third time not ready as promised. I love Trihn! She did a great job on my wedding dress, as well as a bridesmaid dress I had altered for another wedding. Her prices are very reasonable and she is the friendliest and sweetest lady. She also dry-cleaned my wedding dress for just $40, which was HUGE. I had an outdoor wedding on Sunset Cliffs and the bottom of my dress was completely dirty after my wedding and she got it all out. First couple experience were great! When I came in to give Trinh my wedding dress, she listened, provided her input and altered it to exactly what I wanted. For that, she deserves a 5 star. However, when I came back to have the dress and a few other wedding outfits cleaned, it was a nightmare. I understand she was going through a family crisis but she should not have told me that everything will be done. When I called the day of (Wednesday close to 5pm) to pick up my items, nothing was done. Her husband then told me he could somehow pull it off but it won't be till the day after the wedding (Saturday)....I don't think he understood what day I needed everything (Friday morning). This experience was very unpleasant and I would give it a 1. So I'm averaging this review to be a 3. Maybe it was all a misunderstanding and bad timing but I will not come here again. read more
