I went into The Madison West store and Mel held my hand (not literally), answered all my questions, and got me everything I needed. Explaining why the one that felt a little wrong looked much better, which is what I NEEDED him to do. I know there are all kinds of rules about how a suit should fit, I did research and was looking at their 2 most expensive suits before I walked in, as they were closest to all wool. I'm overweight and I ALWAYS buy baggy loose-fitting clothes because I hate tight clothes. I NEEDED to be steered in the correct direction, and Mel did that, He was GREAT! I spent years in retail men's clothing. Do you want to see the absolute dirtiest floors in all of retail? They haven't vacuumed in months at this place, it was so bad, it looked like a movie theater floor but worse. On top of that they are short staffed and it takes a while to get help once your there. You will not want to take your shoes off when you see it. If your store looks like shit and smells like it too, how's the rest of the business operating? exactly my point. They work if you need a tux, but can't recommend them. read more

If I could rate this spot zero stars I would. It's only allowing me to go as low as one star. My experience with this store was very unpleasant and unprofessional. My finance and I walked in, (not that it should matter but just for context ; he's black im Hispanic.) upon entering the store we waited for someone to help. A man was not even 10 feet from us "working" but didn't pay us any mind until my finance approached him and asked for help. About 5 minutes we had to approach a woman and asked for help. She clearly saw us. We told her what we needed and she came off somewhat passive aggressive and was clearly rushing. I noticed her interactions with the other (Caucasian) customers was drastically different. Also they didn't even have a tailor... After all was said and done we got what we needed but the woman who helped us was very rude and unpleasant, and handed us our 3 items (shirt, slacks and tie) without hangers and without a bag. Customer service was awful. Went in looking for a wedding suit. I was told someone would be with me shortly. That never happened. I began looking and trying on while I waited. No one ever came to help me, but they began helping other people coming in after me. When I left, they were just chilling in the front not helping anyone. 0/10 customer service. read more

Honestly surprised this place is still open. Probably limping on being one of the scarce options for suits. I've been to this location 3 times in the last few months so this review is indicative of a pattern - not a one off experience. Each time I come in I'm greeted as if I don't deserve to be there. Questions are only answered if pressed and the general vibe is "how can I avoid helping you." This store has a culture of pompous arrogance. Inattentive service. On initial visit all associates were busy but they were incapable of helping more than one customer at a time. I helped my self. Nothing was displayed on the racks by size and many suit jackets were in the wrong hanger(hanger has a tag indicating one size while the jacket was another). Store was messy overall. I, by myself , selected items and tried them on. All suites need tailoring but the lady convinced me I needed less than I saw a need for. I know tailoring being that I managed a men's clothing store for over seven years (a local competitor). Upon pick up the suit looked bad. Definitely needed a re-alt. They had no time.. I went to a local tailor to have my waist and collar altered. When I used the suit the hem on the cuff immediately came loose and the lining for the sleeve wasn't completely attached. Black man with son looking for a suit in this place was interesting. Very ignorant lady working there only helped us get a jacket no pants, shirt, tie, not a measurement or anything. I ask if they usually help get pant and she replies. I guess I'm the only one working the floor. .. To bad you didn't have that response for the couple and their son that didn't look like us. Very poor selection. Non existent customer service. Garments that look even cheaper than they actually are. Was told on entering to check in to their wait list using a QR code. That site indicated we would be next in line. Then stood in eye line of the sales person who kept waiting on person after person who came in after us. Went in today to exchange a suit jacket for another size. A nice lady working there immediately greeted me and helped me. She was very professional and kind meanwhile she was busy helping another person check out and helping me get the correct size, and did it very with great ease. She was very helpful and knowledgeable and gave great advice and helped me find the perfect dress shirt. I will be back and definitely. Years ago I went to the same store and the experience was polar opposite with terrible service. *Pre-Pandemic* Horrible and humiliating experience. I walked in and notice several sales personnel, but no one acknowledged to offer help. I spent a good half hour+ browsing button up shirts for work, to no avail of help. However, customers who came in after, we're greeted and offered help. No big deal until the end. After trying a few shirts I brought them to the counter to purchase. The sales personnel at the register covertly signaled his colleague to check the dressing room I was in. The colleague came out with a thumbs up. Then the sales personnel rang me up. Pretty much the sales personnel was stalling me, having small chatter, to allow his colleague to see if I had attempted to wear their shirt while leaving mine in the dressing room. Keep in mind this was around 5:30pm on a weekday arriving in my business casual attire. Ironically that was the most time I was attended to. I was not greeted as a customer rather viewed and stereotyped as a thief. Sad. It really is. The two employees working retail couldn't comprehend that I'm a young colored professional - thus their extra effort to confirm their insecurity. Again - I gave Mens Wearhouse another chance, but very similar outcome at a different store. Their ego, while in their suits, was beyond their EQ. read more

Tuesday I found out my son needed a suit by Thursday night. Impossible, I thought. But I saw that the Men's Wearhouse on Mineral Point Road had great reviews on Yelp, so I took my son there Tuesday afternoon. We were greeted by the charming and humorous Dean. We told him our dilemma, and braced for bad news. No problem, Dean said, and in no time we were sizing my son, and showing him options that would fit. One of the amazing tailors came out and measured the suit pants for hemming, and then got to work doing her magic. Meanwhile, Dean found a fantastic pair of shoes (that were on sale!), and showed us several shirt and tie combos. My son wound up choosing a fun, slightly irreverent shirt and tie that I never would have dreamed of. He looks terrific and is very happy. Somehow, Dean was able to help us get the perfect suit without breaking our budget. The tailor even managed to get his pants hemmed before we left the store! Neither my son nor I especially enjoy shopping, but this was a shockingly pleasant experience. I cannot recommend Dean and the outstanding people at this Men's Wearhouse enough. As a bride, I came to help the groomsman- Terrible service, one problem after another. All measurements taken were off, taking 2 hours to get correct measurements and sizes. Waiting in line to check out was another hour and half experience. The manager was the only one who could put in discounts. He attempted to tack on extra charges without our permission - as if we are not already paying a leg and an arm for their suits. Very disappointed in Mens Warehouse. I've been a long time customer - but no longer. I made a reservation for five men for consult / fitting. I made the reservation three weeks in advance, allotted two hours per the consultant suggestion. We all show up this evening - they didn't have our registration, all booked up and put in your name on a list and maybe get service in a hour. Not! that's why I made the reservation -- and no apology -- "just need to make another reservation". Suggestion - if you choose to use Mens Warehouse, not only to make sure you make a reservation -- call a couple times to confirm that you haven't been deleted, and be sure to get the consultant's name -- so the manager knows who to blame. Looking at the reviews, appears to be going down hill in 2021. read more

Men's Wearhouse- Mineral Point Rd. Madison,Wi. We just went in to pick up our tailored wedding suit and the staff, besides one sales lady, were very dismissive. One sales guy was particularly rude when we asked for tailoring help as we were trying on the suit in the fitting room. When I asked a question about how the pants were supposed to fit more snug in an area, per our last fitting appointment- the response, from a different sales guy, was "that's just your opinion on how it should look". This is not the first time we've had problems with this location- when we went in for our initial appointment- they were 40mins late to meet us and rushed us through the entire appointment, with an attitude of annoyance the entire time. Not only have we consistently received subpar service here, but now the product is not what we paid for either. The whole experience here was unacceptable. read more

My initial visit/purchase was OK; post-sale service was non-existent. The first question I was asked was "When do you want it?" I had a 25 day lead time (10/29); OK - we're good I was told. I picked out a separate suit; slacks were in stock and the jacket needed to ordered. Zachary, the salesman, told me to take slacks and we'll ship you the jacket - then bring both in for alterations when the jacket arrives. The day after I received the jacket (yesterday), I took the suit in and was told by another salesperson (with the smirk of a carney), "There has been a policy change - alterations won't be completed until 11/4." At that point I realized I had been had. Once they had my money and I was in possession of the suit, Men's Warehouse was not obligated to alter my suit - other than honoring their word. My bad for trusting my suit to be altered after the sale. For another $60 I'll get my suit altered and learned not to trust this Men's Warehouse location. read more

These people are jerks. First, they tried to sell me a suit that obviously did not fit. The salesman stood there and insisted that a suit that was ridiculously too big on me fit perfectly. He was "corrected" by one of the ladies in the alterations department, after I put up a big stink about it. She could not believe that he was trying to sell me the suit, and she LAUGHED AT me for not knowing about proper fit. Second, when I finally did pick up my suit, which I needed to be perfect, as my plane left the next morning, they screwed it up. They totally neglected to take in the jacket AT ALL and I looked like an idiot. And you know what - they blamed me and did not own up to the obvious mistake. Incompetence bordering on deceit + insulting your customers = never again. Beware. read more

I bought two sports jackets on-line, and had them delivered to the store, so I could get them fitted. I immediately noticed that both jackets were frumpy along the shoulders, like the padding was not evenly distributed. I pointed this out to the Men's Wearhouse staff. They each gave me some line about "it's the hanger you've had them on." I said I had just had them delivered from Men's Wearhouse corporate, directly to their store. They reassured me that after fitting (which took several days) the problem would disappear. It didn't. They pressed the jackets. The problem remained. I complained. They repeated that it was the hangers. I repeated that I had never had the jackets out of the store. They said I should hang them on nice hangers, and the problem would go away after a week or so. I purchased nice cherry hangers on Amazon, which took a couple of weeks. After using those hangers, spritzing, and having the jackets for over a year, the problem never went away. The jackets look like crap. At this point I'm stuck with two frumpy jackets. I will never shop at any Men's Wearhouse after this experience. read more

*Update: The store manager (who was not present when I originally came in) apologized and gave me a discount for the trouble I experienced. If you're not sure how to shop for men's clothing, they will help you. The flip side is intense sales pressure, up selling, and surprise pricing. I came in to get some suits for work, but as a slimmer man, had some difficulty finding a properly fitting suit. While searching for a suit, I was told alterations were "not a big deal", and "$12-22", so I settled on two suits. After pinning them with all the modifications needed, a surprise: $95 worth of alterations to a low-medium quality suit. Then another surprise. They had a 2 for $700 deal going on -- which would be one for $350 -- but they would not honor the deal because one suit was on clearance. Effectively, I was punished for selecting a less expensive second suit. In the end, I only bought the clearance suit, which costed $250 due to alterations. The outcome is an okay suit, but next time I think I'll save the headache and visit a store that sells suits that fit, and has salespeople who honor advertised deals. read more

I went in with my son for the prom special. The lady that greeted me said $249 prom special. Yes! I told her. She was unable to help me and got me a different gentleman to help us telling him we were here for the 249 prom package. Found a suit, pants, shirt and tie. They even hemmed the pants right then! Everyone was so nice. Awesome until he rang up the sale! Over $400!!! What??? The guy says this is a much nicer jacket and it will last longer. My son is a skinny junior in high school, how many years does he think he'll stay this size!?! I felt so taken advantage of!!! They gave me a free hanger for my trouble. ("The hanger will make the suit last longer!") I left with such a bad feeling! Bait and switch. Don't know if I will ever go back. We were never told he was giving us a higher priced set! I need to add: Last year I took my older son and got the the prom package. That's why I came back and thought I knew what I was getting. I went to the Men's Warehouse to find a suit for my partner that could be used for a wedding and other occasions. We went in with a specific price range in mind and a general idea of what we were looking for in a suit. Neither of us has had a lot of experience with buying a suit or being fitted for one. Ivan was the salesperson assigned to us and he was incredibly helpful. He listened well to what we wanted and was able to make accommodations as requested. When we gave him a price range, he adapted the styles easily and without any judgment. There was no hard-sell or anything like that. He was attentive and the suggestions he made were great. It was clear that Ivan has a passion for a good suit and it showed in the selections he made. He helped get the suit fitted and altered and explained every itemized detail on the receipt without having to be asked. He was not overly gregarious and there was never a sense that he was working for his commission. At several points, he needed to help other clientele but it was done with impeccable manners and we were never left waiting. This is a store we would return to and Ivan is a salesman we would work with again. Minus one star for cleanliness. Not all of the workers were dressed as impeccably as Ivan and as representatives of tailored suits for men, it seems apropos that the employees would set the example. Additionally, it was clear that the carpets were not clean and several of the displays were not as crisp as they could have been. Well, by far better than S and K Menswear which is now out of business and for good reason. I bought a suit hear and received some good service. Tailor was on hand and did a good job sizing me and getting the job done in a timely manner. I got a feeling after my purchase that they didn't want to spend much more time with me. Sort of like, thanks for your purchase now don't waste any more of my time. I plan to try another men's store for my next purchase but I may go back here sometime too. Get ready to feel like an Old Testament leper when walking in for a tux measure. The staff had run out of masks for customers. I told them I would happily wear one if they had them available. They made me stand outside and refused to help me with measurements outside of guessing based on my clothing. I had an amazing experience at this Men's Wearhouse. The staff listened to what I wanted and didn't stop working until I walked out feeling like a million bucks. I don't typically post reviews, but the treatment I got from the staff at the Mineral Point Men's Wearhouse, and specifically Dominic, went above and beyond my expectations. Earlier in the morning I had gone to another tuxedo rental store in the area and had a mediocre experience... on a whim, I decided to check out Men's Wearhouse to see if I could get a better tuxedo rental experience and also check out a new suit (which I needed). Dom worked with me to find exactly what I was looking for: I wound up walking out with two perfectly fitted and high quality suits for the price of one, and a Vera Wang tuxedo rental that looked classy enough for a best man (as opposed to the rental from the other place, which had cheap looking fabric, heavy-handed stitching, and a depressing cut). My only critique is that it wasn't always super clear what would be an extra charge and what wouldn't (specifically regarding the tailoring expenses), but honestly I felt so good with what they showed me that it was worth the extra money. read more

My fiance, like many guys who don't like shopping, dreaded the thought of going into this store to try on suits for his future wife and mother in law. Well, we are so glad we did. Edward could not have been more helpful and fun. Just a pleasure to work with. The groom got the perfect suit complete with a shirt and tie for himself and the groomsmen for an absolutely great deal. My dad was so impressed with the suit that he also bought the same one in a different color for the wedding, as did my brother and uncle. There were a couple hiccups in the process (ie: alterations and obtaining ties for all the GM) which is why the rating isn't perfect. However, Edward assured us that he'd sort out everything, and he did! Everyone looked fantastic at the wedding. We would go back to see him at MW in a heart beat. read more

I have to say, I am mad at the entire company now. To describe the whole situation in short: I went to the store to buy a vest, one consultant referred me to another, I waited to be serviced for 20 minutes, because the ladies were making service calls and thought I was waiting for someone/something else (?). Finally I've purchased the vest and paid for expedited delivery ($70). Next day I came to pick it up and to find out I paid for a rental! I started discussing the subject with staff - I couldn't go get a vest somewhere else now because this was the day of the event I needed it for. Nothing but blank faces, clueless, not knowing how to react. The sales person who I made the "purchase" from only said - "what do you want me to do now?" Finally someone came - probably manager and said that we can pretend I lost the vest and for extra $60 I can keep it.... $130 vest??? Just went online today to file a complaint. To file via email they only provide an online form. When I filled out the form and pushed the submit button, I've received an error message saying - Service not available...what? Tried with different browsers, figured - maybe my complaint is too long, tried to shorten it, talked to Live Service - of course NO HELP! Should a customer really work so hard just to give feedback??? Though to summarize the impression: very friendly! BUT poor consultation + terrible service + horrible complaint management = very dissatisfied customer! read more

Gabe was really fun to work with today. He was personable, informative, and a great balance of professionalism/approachability. Gabe and his trainee, Ryan, made sure to listen to my fiancee's needs and style preferences while accounting for my overall vision and color scheme of the wedding day. Their service would easily be 5-star. Why a 3-star rating? It was really disheartening to see the way management regarded their staff. A manager interrupted our consultation to take away a reference resource which out consultant was using. It would be one thing if the manager urgently needed the material, but he made a point of scolding the staff- in front of us - saying that they should have the information memorized. He even came back a second time to reiterate, and dismissively added that they "would talk about this later." So Chris, definitely supervise your people. Help them learn and improve, but know the time, place, and manner in which to do so. You aren't hazing pledges; you should be building a team. read more

The staff at this location have always been top notch! I've rented my tux for my own wedding here and a friends wedding. Everything went smoothly. We owe this place a great review thanks to the associate, Evan. Not all Men's Wearhouse customer service are the same. Evan went above and beyond in taking care of my husband's concerns and needs. With how crazy wedding planning can get, this really was one less thing for us to worry about. We are really grateful that he was able to look into a suit change on short notice and ensured that everything would come in on time. Additionally, he took the time to measure and fit my husband correctly. Prior to this visit, we had my husband re-measured at our local location and were not given the proper measurements for a fitted look. I would like to mention that we planned this wedding from out of town. So, yes, this exceptional service was truly appreciated. Initially, my husband was fitted in Milwaukee - service was not that great. We had our fathers fitted in Minnesota - it was OK. The thing is, they messed up a transaction that later needed to be fixed once we were in Madison for pick up. Thanks to Evan, we had one less thing to cry about. haha We didn't work with other associates, but if you get Evan, you will be in good hands. read more

I had a great experience working with Kathie at Men's Wearhouse! I needed to buy shirts for the groomsmen in our wedding and was having a tough time finding all their sizes in a certain color. Kathie took the project on and ended up finding exactly what we were looking for. When I came in to pick the shirts up, they were all labeled with each guy's name and size so they were extremely easy to distribute. Without Kathie's help I would still be struggling to find shirts; I am so thankful for her help! read more
